  • Lots of valid stuff here. In my experience and I have also read this, one of the lesser factors is some guys rank their looks higher than other men and women would. A very general generalization that only sometimes applies is men don't beat themselves up about their looks the way women do. Surveys/studies have shown women sometimes don't rank themselves as high as others do. I don't remember where I read this. And it's a lesser factor than what has already been mentioned and very well may not apply to cuddles much at all.

    And like some comedian whose name I can't recall said, guys put on a clean shirt, comb their hair, look in the mirror and give themselves a thumbs up/OK sign and they go out the door. Lol.

    I think clean clothes and combed hair is perfectly fine for all genders. No real need to pull out all the stops every day.

  • I believe it can be similar with both genders.

    @achetocuddle Great points. One thing I’d like to add is that, from my own experience, putting in extra effort into looking nice doesn’t yield me much in the way of extra attention from women. Basic hygiene and a clean look seems like enough, but I’m not sure. I’ve heard of women dressing down to AVOID extra attention, I don't think men do this generally. I’m not aware of how much effort women are encouraged to put into looking nice, but based on a few I know a LOT goes into hair.

    @Bear for sure, statistics and our personal experience will cause us to categorize grouos of people in a certain way, but as individuals within a group these things may not be true. Culture changes also, so these things may change between age groups orv where someone grew up. Some of this is probably biological.

  • @sunnysideup I'm not typical so it's hard for me to say much about all this, but I agree that a lot of women put a lot of effort into hair. From what I've observed it pays off, even for jobs, promotions, etc. I also agree with your statement to Bear.

    @briel I hope you will enjoy your membership here. I've met all kinds of people here, and many have messaged me first and were not looking for a cuddle partner based primarily on looks. Give it time and you will find lots of people here that view this as totally different from dating, in a good way.

    Most women want someone taller. Why is that a thing?

  • I assume when women want someone taller it's hard-wired. I would rather date someone taller, but I can't tell you why.
    I don't think me being fairly tall really factors in. Plenty of average height and petite women want taller also. For a cuddler I don't have a height preference. I never thought about taller possibly being a "better" big spoon until I saw it mentioned here.

    @achetocuddle Then why is a man wanting someone more petite an issue even if he has a, "dad bod?"

    Shorter woman wanting someone taller, thicker man wanting something more petite. See the hypocrisy in this post?

  • A woman wants someone, a man wants something?

    Holy Freudian slip, Batman.

    @Saysoh https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypergamy

    This is why women initiate 80% of divorces. Men are disposable commodities. Marriage vows are nonbinding, but the money parts are. Most women will leave a man if they perceive a better option is credibly in their grasp.

    @DaringSprinter Please. You're stretching here.

    Just search the Tik, or any other social media. There's tons of talk about height, dick size, their, "fits," whatever. Women want something as well.

  • @Tranquilescape @CaringSoul - Yes! That sketch is too funny, and too honest! Lol

    @cuddles_ndream Heard one of the founders of Okcupid is a statistician so he keeps stats of all interactions on the app including gender, race, age, etc. They have numbers to back their patterns and claims and don't really have a monetary purpose for publishing this information.

  • @Saysoh: You said a woman wants a person who's tall, while a man wants a thing that's petite.

    It's not a stretch to say that's what you said. That's what you said.

    @DaringSprinter

    Women don't want a thing?

  • Not in your sentence, @Saysoh. Watch: "Shorter woman wanting someone taller...." See that? In your sentence, a woman wants someone—a person. Not something.

    Now let's look at the rest of the sentence. Check it out: "...thicker man wanting something more petite."

    See the Freudian slip in this post?
