  • Uh, this ISN’T the place for a post like this. Cuddle Comfort IS NOT “social media”!! It’s bad enough people have turned this into a “business”.. Mothers and fathers are generally appreciated by all and the need to be “recognized” for such doesn’t need to happen here!! PLEASE stay on subject with your message board posts, people!! 🙄

  • @cuddles_ndream Thanks! Have an amazing day!!

@great_pillow08 Thank you, Have an amazing day as well!!

  • I feel the correct statement should be "The hardest job in the world is being a parent".

In today's world when we are talking about equality and many other such things, that sentence doesn't sounds right.

  • @cuddlyBear10 i thought I couldn’t edit the thread any more, but I was able to … I’ve changed it for you 🌌

  • edited December 2022

@cuddlyBear10 Probably because the most precise version “Dealing with the kids all day is the hardest job in the world” sounds even worse.

Also teachers and daycare workers have to do it at scale… shudders

  • @zerocantaloupe is cantaloupe 🍈 one of
    Your favorite fruits?

  • Laughing at all the people turning a genuine heart felt post into something negative. Wow. Smh. 😑

@cuddles_ndream I love it and see where you're coming from. Don't mind the negative Nancy's that have to complain about how something was worded. Can't tip toe around everyone's way of life and their trauma they hold so dear that makes them so bitter they have to turn a post around and make it about them.

I appreciate the hardships I've been dealt so I can be the strong woman I am today and get to love that much harder. Everyone has their own experiences and we get that... but just show some love instead of hate. Especially for a post that was aimed at appreciating the love of their mother.
If you have nothing nice to say to that- keep quiet next time, it's that easy folks. 👌

  • @Jillybear87 thank you so much 🙏🏻 🌌 ♥️

I was reflecting a bit and giving this thread a lot of thought, I was thinking that maybe not everyone had (or has) the same experience as me, as I do with my mom, than I felt that maybe i was being selfish and not considering others personal experiences, and their realities / truths / their own personal situations (or at the very least applying my very same experience with my mom to everyone else as their own.)… i than felt that I was being selfish with this post and was trying to “fix it”, you’re absolutely right and you nailed it… I’m not going to apologize anymore for how amazing and incredible my mom is, and what this thread mean to me. she has always been, and continues to be for everyone else, even beyond her kids and her family… sending you and your family soooo much love & hugs 🫂 🌌 🥀 💕

It's fun to be name-called with a sexist stereotype because a call for inclusivity didn't go the usual direction. It really shows how much people care.

  • Its the highest calling.

  • edited December 2022

@zerocantaloupe not true … you were the 1st one to complain, I immediately edited the post because i agreed and I even told you … as time went on you kept holding on, I kept trying to fix and fix but you were set on your feelings and I think you would have much rather me kept things exactly the way they were for the simple sake of argument …. If you don’t believe what I’m saying go back to the very beginning of this thread and start reading … you don’t allow for someone to apologize, if people didn’t know any better you would actually try and convince them that you are perfect without faults or mistakes.

@cuddles_ndream The point I guess I was indirectly making, and what that stand-up comedian insinuated with mention of Oprah, is that the original statement's history is one of sexist pandering. That's why it starts sounding weird when it gets diluted with inclusivity or even mildly scrutinized.

Of all the silly stupid threads on here, from food to movies to boners to even poops , why in the actual fuxk are people getting butt soreness over this thread and choosing to play the forum police card for this ? Who gives a shit about your opinions , I surely do not. Dont be so big headed that you start to ever conflate your opinion as fact.

  • Its the highest calling.

Lmao. It never ceases to amaze me how revered getting knocked up is.

I’m with the OP on this one. Name a job with longer hours, worse pay, which, in many parts of the world you can be forced into, which you can never retire from… oh, and which you can be prosecuted criminally for failing at.

People who are saying motherhood (especially) is easy don’t seem to have much experience in the role.

    🐒

PS The relatively rare (by orders of magnitude) experience of single fathers out there doing more work than I can even fathom are just the exceptions that prove the rule, imo.
Some of the single dads get undue praise and others get unwelcome judgment, I’m sure. But I have a sneaking suspicion and a lot of empirical evidence that shows just how much quicker society is to find fault with women. Just saying.

I have been a single father for 10 years now (shared custody). And while it is hard only having my child half the time, I take great pride in the relationship I have with my daughter. She is the best part of my life and the best person I know.

  • @cuddles_ndream, great post, thanks!
    @Jillybear87, loved your response.

Flagged, reviewed, and removed. If someone blocks you, there is no going around it by tagging them publicly. No shall do, @great_pillow08. If you have an issue with someone's messages, report them, but do not air your grievances in the forums. Thanks. [-Sid]

@MonkeyNeedsAHug trust me on this one, do not respond 🙃 ty.

  • The forums are full of various topics of interest . Some have zero relevance , and honestly some are just flat out annoying and self indulgent. But I dont feel it shouldn't be allowed . Nothing against TOS . I can see where there is validity with potentially creating a forum for cuddle only related topics and one for all the other jazz. I just don't see it as being that deep or offensive to tangent about to be honest . Nobody has to read nor post. That takes an investment of time, energy, and attention. An active, conscious choice made to involve oneself. In my opinion, it seems like not participating in threads one isnt interested in or that are annoying is the best option.

  • @pmvines Everything you said … Thank you!

I’ll just put this meme on a spoiler so that people don’t have to see it.

  • How about "Click this button and be humored"? Too many people are too easily offended these days.

  • Celebrating and showing appreciation for someone that has cared for you and raised you is very relevant in the need for love and touch. It may be someone’s mother like the OP or dad or grandparent or sibling or someone else. Being a couple and raising kids is hard enough that a single parent who takes pride in and loves and cares for kids is very admirable and worthy of acknowledgement and praise.

There are Mods to police the forum topics and say what CC is and isn't. I believe someone said they were out in an earlier post. Waiting...
@pmvines ty. Hugs. I'm about to have a brain aneurysm. lol.

I feel like what's going on here is what I like to call reverse trolling. Taking a community thread that's loving and brings us together then using a platform of a perceived higher morality to put it and supportive networks down based on personal bias.

  • I have been my daughters sole parent since 2017 her mom said I just don’t want to parent anymore up and left and moved to Colorado. Definitely hard as hell in many different aspects but I embrace the opportunity to spend so much time with my daughter. She’s 9 now and we are so close and there are definitely days where mentally, physically, emotionally, financially I am drained but I just keep keeping on.

I have appreciated the pros and connections I have made from this site it has helped as me in and there are many awesome people here 🙂.
