  • Report it to the site with messages

  • Did you offer to host or they asked you to get a room?
If they asked you to get the room they should pay you the whole amount and you’re just asking for half. It’s unfortunate the best thing you could do is maybe contact the administrators of the site and they speak to the guy?

  • That sucks! In the future maybe have the client book the room, or take a deposit.

yeah, they are required to reimburse you half, but hard to enforce.....sorry this happened to you....sigh. I had to last minute cancel once and I was so embarrassed. I paid her half the session via Zelle. I'm glad she trusted me to give me that info and she was shocked to say the least when I paid her....lol. We did have an excellent cuddle session at a later date, too. Was so glad I was able to make it up to her.

  • @embrace_comfort you can also try to reach out to current regulars and see if anyone else wants to do the time and offer it at a discount.

I get why pros ask for deposits even though I don't like them and avoid them these situations make me feel for yall.

I have canceled on a pro one time and still sent payment before it was the night before I got ill. She was a sweetheart and just tried to apply it our following session.

  • take it as a learning experience, next time require a deposit

  • @emrace_comfort, I am so sorry this happen to you. Did the client give you a reason for canceling? Can you contact the client and gently discuss the bind he put you in?

  • Yeah I do not do deposits for cuddles EXCEPT for traveling fees or a room if she requires a room. Next time request a deposit for the room, explain it is non-refundable and then if he decides to pay it, then proceed. I doubt he will pay it. I think you were second choice and he had someone he preferred and you were just there to cover his bases.

  • I’ve had many hotel sessions, usually because the Client is traveling and is staying there. I’ve never been asked to pay or book the room. If they did, I wouldn’t reserve the room until they’ve sent the payment.
It’s just understood when they contact me that if they’ve chosen to host, they pay for the room. I’m more than happy to host so there’s no hotel cost.
I always ask very nicely for plenty of notice if they have to cancel. I also have a confirmation phone call before leaving.
I find that in any scenario, being kind, polite, relaxed in communication prevents so many problems!

I always ask for the money upfront if I need to book a room for them, in full. Then I screenshot the confirmation page for the booking and send it to them to confirm that I did indeed spend the money on a hotel lol.

  • There are people who wonder why other people sometimes require deposits.

I’m not sure if there’s any way to recoup your losses. In the future, I would have the person who requests, to pay for the booking. That way you’re not out any money like this situation.

  • With my loss, in another state, my report wasn't taken seriously. All communication was on the site and actually think if they worked the case appropriately, this user should be paused at least. So you can and should report them. I would like to check in with you @embrace_comfort what is done in your situation and what you are willing to share, if thats okay.
So giving anyone the benefit of the doubt can never be your premise here. And like @mimtheplantmom says learn the valuable lesson. Be careful and really it is up from here now that you know what not to do. [:

  • This should never happen. A stand up guy would offer to pay for the airbnb.
I’m against deposits, but you got screwed here.

  • @embrace_comfort
If you haven’t done so already, report this person and we will look in to it.

  • As others have said, definitely report them, but don’t expect to get your money back. In terms of moving forward, you should either require clients to book the room or are you should require a deposit to cover the cost of the booking.

  • I’m a little confused, please correct me if I’m wrong. The OP said the session is for Thursday but the client cancelled on Monday, why would he owe her anything? This would be more than 24 hours prior to the session. I think it sucks and I’m sorry this happened but it seems to me that he wouldn’t owe her anything. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

  • @Morpheus probably because she can't get a refund on the room she booked
