Only awkward if ya make it awkward? It's not like it's a strip club or something... hahaha now that would be awkward. 😆
@Sooson hopefully the tongue-in-cheek joking/sarcasm came through. I figured it was meant as a joke. I meant to add a /s 😅
I've never run into a girlfriend's husband and his boyfriend.... But I have run into a boyfriend's wife and her boyfriend & girlfriend while I was out with another boyfriend...and the wife's girlfriend was other boyfriend's (not her husband's) sister 🤣
Polyamory communities in smaller towns can get a bit... incestuous feeling.... to outsiders lol. That's why we make polycule diagrams!
@cuddlefaery wow lol that would have made an awesome tik tok. You are such an educator, as demonstrated in other threads. I'll go on a limb and guess you have an account on Fet lol. And if you don't than you should.
So, for traditional talk therapists, the rule is that the therapist will not acknowledge you approach you first, but will say hello if the client comes up to them. While I have not had that situation arise, I would follow the same protocol. There are a few clients of mine who are public about receiving cuddle therapy and have even made social media content with me so I may approach them, but for the majority of my clients who are private about this, I would respect their confidentiality.
If the risk of meeting is high, and the potential for awkwardness also high, then the wise course is to agree a protocol between you. What you will each do, what you will not do. Cover story if required.
But frankly, none of this compares to the best case of awkwardness I ever heard of. This is true, apparently. Once upon a time, in a town in the USA, a wife informed her husband that she had to work late. The husband thought nothing of this, it was common and the overtime brought in good money. But he was bored at home alone, and the marriage wasn't in the best possible state, so he decided to engage the services of a sex worker.
The photo was very blurry and the text vague, but the text conversation was easy and the consequence was that he arranged to meet the woman in a motel on the edge of town. The staff were familiar with this kind of thing and didn't mind. Anyway, image his surprise when he opened the door to greet the sex worker and she was his wife. Now that's awkward. Neither party was aware of the other's nocturnal habits.
The volume of the ensuing fight caused the motel staff to call the police, which is how it ended up in the papers. (Superficial damage to property, no serious injuries.)
I met someone from here yesterday by chance who was doing a job (but that person didnt know it). I only talked regarding the job that person was doing and never mentioned anything about this site. Seemed like a nice person though (I wasnt that persons type anyways based on the profile).
I can’t imagine it being awkward unless it played out like a scene from What about Bob
@CuddleDuncan Reminds me of "Escape (The Piña Colada Song)"
My mom. I asked her why she left me in the jungle with that bear and that leopard. She said at the time it was a necessity of life. Answer made sense so we went and got ice cream.
