How valuable are the forums to you on this site?

  • It doesn't matter to me. I don't think I've seen anyone from my area on here when I decide to come by and lurk.
However, I'm still pretty new to this whole thing and the forums are what sold me on choosing this site. The other sites look kinda sus, that they might just be a scam with the front page being a facade to fool you into thinking its the real deal. However, here on cuddle comfort, the forums prove that there are indeed real people here.

I think the forums are far more valuable to the professionals here, simply because it gives them visibility that the site’s TOS wouldn’t allow otherwise.

How much value enthusiasts get is probably pretty limited, as is displayed by how often the same topics are recycled, rehashed, and returned, basically constantly.

    .

  • I sometimes check the forums for anything a cuddle candidate has posted. The purpose is to learn a little more about them, get a feel for their personalities.

  • The forum helps me focus, brings me back to earth and has given me important connections.
    Thanks y’’all 🤠

  • I would have most likely never met @MissAdventurous, @stormydaycuddle, @SunsetSnuggles, and @SlothHugs if it wasn't for their constant presence in the forum.

  • Would've missed out on some great connections without interacting with the forums. So I'm grateful to it for that. ❤️

  • Right now I'm dying to know who picked the "troll" option.

  • @mike403 had I saw it that would have been me...LOL.

  • @Mike403 I was tempted to pick the troll option, but didn't seem fully accurate 😂

The forums are a big part of why I spend time on this site vs others. I really enjoy connecting with people in general through a variety of methods, and online through forums and social networking groups has been one of my primary forms of social interaction since the early 00's. I enjoy respectful debate, having my views challenged, and getting a more in-depth understanding of people's thinking through how they talk about subjects about which they are passionate. I love written language in general and all its nuance and complexity, and I am passionate at increasing accessibility as text-based interactions online are often more comfortable and accessible for people with chronic illnesses, certain disabilities, and neurodivergence than face-to-face might be.

As far as how useful the forums are towards meeting cuddle clients or partners - I've made some great connections that are often too far away, so they're in a "Cuddle Someday" list that I fully intend to check off 😁 As others have noted, observing people interact has also been a great filter for certain people I would not wish to cuddle - but that list is pretty short for me. I'm sure my overly verbose and often blunt and opinionated comments have probably scared some potentials away, and if so then not much I can do about that 🤷🏻‍♀️ We do not have control over what people think of us, only of our own actions - and while I've definitely made mistakes, I do not regret being active on the forums fully as "myself" rather than as a carefully curated version crafted to entice clients.

  • It gives me shits and giggles

  • @pmvines I thought you are the one who gives shits and giggles.

  • @cuddlefaery - I met a couple guys on here who seemed like some of the nicest and down to Earth guys I have ever met then one day they were banned. It makes me wonder if my B.S. detector is a little rusty.

For me, the forum threads and posts allow me to take a look "under the hood" of the posters here. I like being able to examine the thought processes and patterns of the various cuddlers that I might end up either contacting or receiving contacts from. I, personally, wish that society could adopt more of the bonobos' way of doing things, but we haven't, yet! lol

The forum threads and posts give us a way to sort of "get to know" people BEFORE we go down the path of endless messages and missed opportunities. I've gained new perspectives and new understandings just from reading the thoughts of others who have had life experiences far different from my own. I've been grateful for that! :)

I have actually turned down cuddlers who refuse to bother with interacting on the forums. No matter how much I'd like to just cuddle other human beings, it still feels more comfortable interacting with those who have shared their thoughts and ideas here, on the forum. It's like a sneak preview of the joy to come, for me!

  • @Umoja - that is a great way of putting it. There have been 4 cuddlers I got to know through the forums before meeting them in person (2 still very active and 2 who don’t post near as much lately). In all 4 cases, getting to know them through the forums first, then DMs, really made meeting them much more like meeting an old friend rather than a stranger and it made us instantly comfortable with each other.

Wow @JohnR1972 ~ you've had FOUR Cuddlers??? Much respect!!! :)

You kind of nailed it when you said that about how there is an instant level of comfort with a person with whom you've previously interacted, here on the forum. I like that. I've also found it to be very true. Now, if I can just get over my renewed nervousness with meeting up, I hope some of your "4-Cuddler Luck" rubs off on me!!!! lol

  • All my cuddle-ups (except one) have been with those active in the forums and they were all absolutely lovely beings.

That one who didn't participate though..., He was a full-on nightmare!! I haven't met with a non-forum user since, and wouldn't.

  • @quixotic_life - Come to Colorado. :)

  • @Mike403 ~ I know right?! I can't believe I had to miss the meet up there!! One of these days all my adulting efforts will pay off and I'll get to plan a proper visit.

  • On occasion I learn useful information about something. Sometimes I am mildly entertained. I avoid the dumpster fires; get enough of that on FB. Forums have Zero impact on my cuddling. There are maybe a dozen enthusiast women in my area with cuddling parameters I meet; I have written them all with no response. I have cuddled with a couple of pros, neither of whom participate in the forums.

  • Lol, the forums don’t mean anything to cuddling prospects. Why would it matter in the slightest? The odds of even finding a non pro IN your area and posting is about 0%.

  • @Midnight01 - Other people who participated in this thread would disagree with you.

  • @Midnight01 I've met 2-3 cuddlers from the forums and some pen pals too. You attract what you put out - open and friendly attracts open and friendly.

  • @Mike403 your own poll results disagree with you. Majority don’t give a hoot

  • @Midnight01 - They didn't comment in this thread except the trolls.

@everyone Hugs! I've loved meeting all the people I have here.
And.................... I'm going to have to strongly disagree (as usual) with the gentlemen that says pros use the forums to get movement to their page... I'm always here, participating and making friends I don't profit from and I'm not the only one... so perspective...I suppose...

I'm going to have to agree that some pros are here only to make money and there's nothing wrong with that but there are some of who are members of this community and find that perspective a little insulting.

Love all my forum friends and enjoyed meeting so many of you at the meet up in June! Hugs!

  • @stormydaycuddle - hugs. You are so awesome. The forums makes it easy for me to tell who is interested in the community and not just trying to make a quick buck. I'm so glad that you live in my neck of the woods.

  • My short answer would be yes, as I alluded to in my previous comment already, but admittedly there's been times I've wanted to pull my hair out sometimes. That's just the double edged sword of being welcoming to all kinds of personalities I think. Ofcourse those personalities are going to clash from time to time. I tend to think of that as "beautiful chaos".

Opening your arms to all, in reality, isn't going to automatically create some perfect Utopia. It's a community that's beautiful, but the chaos needs maintenance in order to keep balance. Ultimately, the more time I put into volunteering, the more I've learned patience(to an extent lol) and how to push bias to the side more than I typically would. In Lilo & Stitch terms, the forums are messy but still good. Yea, still good.

  • I've not met or spoken with anyone via the forums yet. I don't see many uk based users here really.

But I still like posting here to kill time. One of my go to places if I'm bored heh.
