The national alarms scheduled for the United States may disrupt cuddle sessions. These alarms are from 2:20-2:50 pm Eastern. They will affect all cellphones.
Radios and TV's as well.

"The most recent high profile false alarm occurred in 2018 in Hawaii when the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency system mistakenly sent an alert notification warning of a ballistic missile threat to the Islands. During a shift change, someone had selected the wrong item on a computer.
The message read, "Ballistic Missile Threat Inbound To Hawaii. Seek Immediate Shelter. This Is Not A Drill." Some state highway signs also noted the warning.
It took 38 minutes to clarify that the alert was due to user error."

Will I get in trouble if I turn my phone off and unplug everything else? I have misophonia and I’m not going to deal with required noise.
@INurturePeace, no, those of us who would rather shut our electronics off rather than be subject to the intrusion won't get in trouble.
I vaguely member these alarms, but nothing about them - i guess its been a while since we've had them? Thanks for the warning these are only heard through cellular divices that are turned on? I need a refresher i guess

@carrieanne, conflicting reports. Some are a claiming that unless unplugged, newer TV's and computers may be turned on remotely and cell phones have to be shut off and not on airplane mode.

Already happened here today by me. I found out the time it was going to happen approximately, so I shut my phone off for an hour after putting it on silent, battery saving, and airplane mode. No loud alert for me, but I heard it from co-workers.
My phone went off. It interrupted my non-cuddle, and I continued to not cuddle for the afternoon....

I had a 2:00 pm meeting with lawyer, and at 2:20 pm when our phones went crazy, I muttered that was a fast $100 ! 😳

I did not know that the alarm was going off today until today at work. It sucked because I drive a box truck. I heard the alarm and was confused since it was a nice day out and I thought it was an actual weather alert.

I was all prepared for my poor nerves to get frayed... and then mine was just a vibration? I thought they were forced sound alerts 😅 somehow I didn't hear my housemates' either, so overstimulation averted! 🥳 that said, I'm glad we have this tool and that they occasionally test it. Better an occasional annoyance than to not have a system in place or have it fail in the event of an actual emergency.

I read this yesterday just as my phone went off. I was wondering what the point was or how they were going to measure effectiveness then I realized that so many people were about to huff and complain that they’d know it hit all reaches of the United States. Lol.
