I've seen the movie, but never read it. It's been on my shelf for a long while. I think it's time to crack it open
My new book arrived today 😍
I'm reading Battle Royale right now 😊
@Mman -- it is a really good read I just finished it last month 😁
@MissAdventurous Several friends recommended it and now your thought is appreciated.
Just finished Lessons in Chemistry
Fascinating book about one of the most influential families in American history. Joe Kennedy had 3 sons that became US Senators, one of which went on to become a U.S. President. He also had a daughter (Eunice Kennedy Shriver) who founded the Special Olympics in the 1960s.
Power Of Glamour
Favorite Author has to be Robert Jordan even with the terrible tv adaptation just too many fond memories of my first Wheel of Time read. RA Salvatore/Ed Greenwood probably are tied for 2&3
Currently reading the Elminster series again
Dare to Lead by Brene Brown
First line, “ The world is awash with bullshit and we’re drowning in it”.
Just finished listening to the audiobook recently:
Currently:
The Fate of Food looks good @timbear50 . I'm reading Everything, Nothing, Someone by Alice Carriere
This is a great book and an excellent companion to “Mind Over Medicine” by Dr. Lisa Rankin (a similar book that focused on medical examples of the expectation effect)
The silly bizarre deep mind of Steven Wright in book form. I recommend it.
Killing Patton, by Bill O'Reilly.
He's written an entire Killing... series, but this is the first book I've really been interested in reading.
Well let’s see …. Oh this is a real page turner !
There are 1672 safety rules listed Rule #1638 caught my attention. Wondered what shenanigans got that one listed ? 😂
@OhioMike Are you reading that for work purposes, or to combat insomnia?
@TxTom🤣 actually I collect toy trains, mainly Lionel , and someone way back gave me this thinking I would like it for my train collection so its part of that ....along with all the other train paraphernalia thats been collected.
The Midnight Library, The Night Circus, Burning Down the House and They Die At the End. Yep, all at the same time.
I'm reading When the Body Says No- Exploring the stress-disease connection, by Gabor Maté. For fiction I'm reading Ancillary Sword by Ann Leckie. I gotta have one to teach me and one to offer me an escape.
I love this thread, all the recommendations and book shelves. Think I'm ready to rejoin a book group. Thank you all.
Just started this!
I love fantasy books. My favorite so far has been the Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson. It has 3 books, you can listen to all of them on Audible.
Killing Bill O’Reilly by a Cast of Millions
@avebae Tender is the Flesh sounds positively wicked. Kind of like The Purge meets the US Food and Drug Administration. I'm going to have to check that out.
