Places to cuddle in the winter

So I still live with my parents so I’d rather not host if I don’t have to. I know the usual cuddle spots like parks and movie theaters and stuff but what are some other ideas for when it’s freezing and you don’t want to rent a room?

The right kind of vehicle could work. A mall sofa or bench (sitting obviously) or you might be giving off odd vibes. Mattress shopping for a quicker more daring setting. A friends place that's ok with it and has the ability to host. Booth at a restaurant or lounge. A hostile. A chairlift on the ski slopes for quick cuddles between laying fresh tracks in the pow. Riding public transit with no destination.

It all depends on how comfortable you and your cuddle buddy are with being seen in public, and how cozy you want to get. 😊

Any place with lots of casual seating (we're looking for couches!) is your best bet: Coffee shops, malls, public markets, lounges, restaurant booths, libraries, airports, and hotel lobbies that are large enough not to notice you aren't actually a guest. 😉🛋

You can also do a car cuddle; ideally, this would be in the back of an SUV or van, with pillows, blankets, and a memory foam pad or camp mat...if the weather is on the edge, you can leave the hatch open to a scenic view and enjoy the fresh air. This is how my boyfriend and I cuddled my rainy birthday away in the mountains, this fall. 🍂😌🏞

That said, I have cuddled in a light rain, on top of and underneath multiple waterproof blankets; there's nothing quite like a thunderstorm, for atmosphere. 🌬⛈️🌫

The fact of the matter is, if you and a cuddle buddy click, you'll find a way to connect anywhere...

I've set a picnic blanket down on a patch of grass next to the road for a 15-minute cuddle after brunch. 🥞 Taken a walk in the snow, holding hands. 👩🏻‍🤝‍👨🏼 Nestled on their shoulder while riding the bus through a mountain resort town. 🚌 I've started a group cuddle train across a super long bench at a Qdoba. 🌯 Met up with cuddlers to walk the botanic gardens. 🌺 Snuggled up in the back of a cramped little sedan. 🚗 Visited the aquarium and gazed at the peaceful stingrays together... 🪸

A cuddle, or a cuddle connection, doesn't have to follow any particular template. I love spending time with my cuddle friends, regardless of the weather, or locale! 🤩

  • @woodsman4 mattress shopping 😂I wanna find someone willing to do that soon just to make it weird for everybody. Really though the last few times I’ve had to do that the stores were empty the whole time. Maybe slip the employee a $20 and ask not to stare the whole time.

  • Why do people start their sentences with “So” nowadays? Is it some new trend?

@Smvpixie23 Welcome to this beautiful community. And good job you for taking charge of your safety. There are a lot of threads about indoor places to snuggle and there are some fabulous new ideas here as well. Maybe I’ll hunt a few of them down…

@woodsman4 Welcome to the site!! 😊

I can attest to a Mattress store being a delightful place to snuggle. I have gone in with a pillow, sheet and pjs and cuddled for about 4 hours on a LOT of different mattresses. It was delightful. This was also a first cuddle and because it was public I felt very safe.

I know not everyone has a willingness or desire to do something like that but it worked out seamlessly.

(I was also really interested in buying a mattress so that was a helpful tool.)

One of the sales people said “You’re really smart to do this! People lay down for 5 minutes and it’s not enough to really know what they want.” 😂

The guy at the furniture store said the same thing when I snuggled up with someone on a big fluffy couch. “Act like it’s a movie night! Check out the recliner feature!”

    Great ideas here!!

Another thing is to find some cuddle friendly day use kind of spaces…

I know you said to “not rent a room” but sometimes it’s worth it for me based on distance etc. There are lots of Pros that have a space they rent out cheap to enthusiasts. 😊

I think I remember dayuse.com for cheap prices that aren’t overnights. Lots of hotels don’t advertise but if you call and ask they’ll give you the rate. We got $50 for four hours once. It was a great deal to not have to do laundry etc.

  • I know some people rent out Air Bnb's or look into Peerspace. In the winter, I opt for something cozy with a fireplace.

  • Thank you all for the amazing suggestions I love it! I’ll check out the links as well!

Hey! You have many options for cuddle places, but a good one to try is dayspace. Like others suggested, try cuddling in public places like coffee shops, movie theaters, or you can even try renting your own studio. Options are limitless for cuddling. Good luck on your search. 😊

  • @MrMarkAndrew It’s a way to appear conversational, informal and warm. You aren’t reading a scientific paper.

@SunsetSnuggles Great ideas! The hotel lobby thing is good. Especially if there’s a conference or two at the hotel. Workers aren’t likely to try to verify anything when they have so much else to do and there are two people just chillin’ quietly in a public, common area.

  • Some wonderful idea’s! ✨❄️🍦🍨⛸
