    Motto
    By Langston Hughes

    I play it cool
    And dig all jive
    That's the reason
    I stay alive.

    My motto,
    As I live and learn,
    is:
    Dig And Be Dug
    In Return.

  • This is a short story but I found it very poetic. It is about 5 pages but a great read if you haven't read it. It is called Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas by Ursula K. Le Guin.

  • "My love for you is like a river
    Like a summer breeze that makes my soul shiver.
    One look from you is more precious than gold.
    Let's go get some BBQ and get busy."

  • Cuddles to You

    I am writing this poem just for you
    To wish you warmth and cuddles too.
    May you be blessed on this forum of ours
    In getting cuddles for many many hours.

    Your days should end in peace and quiet,
    Even if you need to hire a pro to buy it.
    This will also include your weekend,
    Especially with how fast they tend to end.

    Hope you make many friends on here,
    As you spend time chatting with us, dear.
    For this place can be used to uplift another,
    As we start to get closer to each other.

    Now go and get some cuddles,
    And maybe even some huddles.
    Afterall, it is what we are all here for too
    So I send many wonderful cuddles to you.

    -Me

  • Sonnet 29:
    When, in disgrace with fortune and men’s eyes,
    I all alone beweep my outcast state,
    And trouble deaf heaven with my bootless cries,
    And look upon myself and curse my fate,
    Wishing me like to one more rich in hope,
    Featured like him, like him with friends possessed,
    Desiring this man’s art and that man’s scope,
    With what I most enjoy contented least;
    Yet in these thoughts myself almost despising,
    Haply I think on thee, and then my state,
    (Like to the lark at break of day arising
    From sullen earth) sings hymns at heaven’s gate;
    For thy sweet love remembered such wealth brings
    That then I scorn to change my state with kings.

  • @GrayKunz @lesmis33 Iconic works
    @Amortentia I found this charming
    @MonkeyNeedsAHug WOW 💙

  • @interalia626 I will take that response!

    Thank You!

    I am glad to see that you have read it,
    And that you have liked it quite a bit.
    My poem has done what it entailed to do,
    So I just wanted to thank you.

  • @MonkeyNeedsAHug Glad someone is reading Shakespeare. The sonnet is a huge tribute to even the thought of a cherished love. Love provides solace in even the most dire circumstances. It's astonishing.
