@RedFox16 Literally the same! I find it amusing how innately gaudy Christmas lights are, but somehow with the winter season, they appear harmonious and soothing. Such a strange, but rather welcome, juxtaposition.

@SunsetSnuggles i actually got a serial killer once. With a detailed outline. Luckily it wasn’t in person but I wasn’t the only one who got the letter. Also, messages from fiends make me smile.

@SunsetSnuggles Gender roles. I think men sometimes get hassled by other men for doing performative gestures like smiling because it's seen as supplicating, and that's something women are "supposed" to do. Or it's seen as non genuine. So smiling just isn't who they are, and they don't want to pretend to be something they're not because their culture frowns on men doing that. My dad was like that and I don't smile. They're imagining other guys are thinking "look at this guy".
Most likely they're blue collar or in an engineering related field. Something male dominated and not based on charisma like sales.

Well nothing much happened at all today.

Last night when leaving a friend’s house she ran up to me and jumped up into my arms so I had to catch her and hold her tight so she wouldn’t fall.
Her hug, joy, and smile: priceless!
I was awoken by the faint pitter-patter of rain. After my morning espresso, I decided to be a little indulgent and made myself a delightful veggie sandwich and poured myself a glass of champagne. I then did a crossword before ultimately deciding to jump back into bed to read/browse the internet. A nice lazy day thus far that is smile-inducing relaxing.
....... I should get out of bed though.
