I had my second swim lesson and I can float on my back now! That sure made me smile after a lifetime of being afraid of going into pools and such.
@KateBee I understand that fear and while I learned to swim in childhood under protest , I was very wary of swimming until I was 16 and hormones kicked in and I became a lifeguard on the weekends when I was 18 because I discovered women talk to you if you are up on that stand on the beach. But I still have apprehensions around certain bodies of water. Funny thing is, I wound up lifeguarding and working for my friend’s dad building pools through college—constantly around water and the requirement of swimming. Kind of like having a fear of public speaking and becoming a politician.
Oh my gosh we had 6 confirmed tornadoes 🌪️ here in Ohio on Wednesday morning and the nws is still investigating. One touched down mile from my office and the one was like a few miles from home. Only damage I had was to my garbage 🗑️ tote . Being trash day it was up on the road and it blew over and got ran over multiple times and destroyed. Refuse peeps got me a new one today .. so definitely made me smile today 😊 lots of thankfulness that no one was injured or worse

I hit a move at wrestling practice where I run toward the corner, jump and bounce off the bottom rope, springboard over and bounce off the middle ropes, then back into the ring toward my training partner and try to hit her, but she punches me in the stomach and I do a big flip and land on my back and say, "Ouch!"
I've been working on this for a while, and finally got it. In all modesty, I felt pretty proud being able to do this at 60 and it made me smile big time and the class applauded.
Then I refereed a practice match and the trainer said I killed it. 😁
