dealing with some severe depression
@SunsetSnuggles Oh I am sorry that you're having a hard time too.π
Had my boughs with depression too, just gotta mush on through it with a positive thought and outlook. I hope and pray that you're doing better!π
I have received some similar comments or been approached in similar ways, as a "BBW", and though it is typically in a "complimentary" manner, it still feels icky to get attention based on something like your bone structure or build.
Lol! Oh, I get those messages as well...π Yep, you think my being fat would ward off objectifying creepers...But NO!π Yes, it does feel icky.π€’
it's not like it's the worst thing that ever hit her inbox (or in any female's inbox for that matter).
@Sooson Nah! π
@Katota im sorry you have to deal with that. I just love your personality and would love to cuddle you. 100% platonic please respect my boundaries
Yep, you think my being fat would ward off objectifying creepers...But NO!
@Katota if there's one thing doing most of my socializing online for 20+ years has taught me, it's that everyone is attractive to someone and that anything can be turned into a fetish π
Being tall, being first rail thin then "curvy" and now overweight, being a dancer, being a faux redhead, wearing a particular shoe size, being a teacher, being bi/pan/omni, being polyam/ENM, being from California, working in hotels, dressing/not dressing a particular way, speaking a particular way, being a nerd, having particular hobbies/interests (yes, even crochet)...all have been reasons I've been objectified π€·π»ββοΈ
On the one hand, eww, people can make anything creepy. On the other, it's comforting to know that there truly is someone for everyone out there π
Racism isn't tolerated here. Keep these types of comments to yourself and see you in a few days [netrunner]
Don't shoot the messenger

I'm gonna bite my tongue, but that is pretty inaccurate.
I was hoping for her take on Asian and Native American men.
@pioneermom you up? Cuddle now?
@Minestrone101 I'm not, lol.
@pioneermom those are incredibly ignorant and damaging stereotypes you're parroting. Actually, not even really stereotypes as those at least are somewhat based in the reality of group dynamics, and all I saw you say are racist half-jokes or insults that are anything but funny.
Any "messenger" spewing that sort of ignorant and bigoted crap deserves to be shot down verbally, no matter what ridiculous excuses they use. Don't shoot the messenger indeed πππ
Edit to add. Perhaps you ought to take your own advice from your profile:
Have SOME class please.
@cuddlefaery I know this is gonna sound clichΓ©, but you nailed it! lol π

Wow. Did you seriously just say that about all Indian men??
Your profile seems nice and platonic, but this is why I will continue saying until the cows come home: Peoples' behavior on the message board speaks volumes more than what they try to project on their profiles.

Hot take: He was both honest and trying to expand his life experience, which I think is good.
People tend to be uncomfortable to novelties and trying to overcome that discomfort can make you less likely to be judgemental/racist.
Also this discomfort isn't a race thing, is a familiarity thing - a white person who grows up in a predominantly black country, with very little exposure to other white people will often feel uncomfortable and unattracted to white people even though they're the same race. The more you familiarize yourself with people you're unfamiliar with, the more open you'll be. And depending on where you live, you may not have many opportunities to interact with people of another race.
So I see no issue with skin tone being one of the reasons he took notice of your profile, depending on their intentions. If it's the only one, even after messaging, I'd say maybe they don't have the right mindset.
@Katota I was informed either during the first meetup (once rapport was established) and some after more time of being friends lol π but true π― @Minestrone101 Thank you happy that many people are open to forming their own opinions and have decided to accept diverse people, despite incomplete/untrue information shared by multiple sources. My views are to learn about people individually and decide for self, regardless of culture/other factors.
