Does cuddling in underwear/lingerie harm the industry's image?

Do you think it's fine for professionals to cuddle in underwear/lingerie or does it potentially harm the industry's image?

And is it fair or unfair to speculate that doing so implies that on a mental level there is a sexual element at play?

Comments

  • I think lingerie should be disallowed because it's primary purpose is sexual attraction is looking sexy.
I've asked snugglers to wear shorts but never underwear or lingerie because that does imply it's going to be more about sex than just cuddling while I just like shorts cause I love having more skin on contact during cuddling.
But keep in mind to some people even platonic cuddling no matter what you wear is seen as wrong and they will always assume it's just a front for prostitution. So why bother pleasing those people who are going to make judgements anyway.

    I fully agree with greenearth.

Skin on skin contact is an amazing way to exchange positive healing energy. If I am getting a massage for example, I don't want my massage therapist to wear gloves. If a pro cuddler wears shorts and a tank top, this provides plenty of skin on skin contact for this amazing energy to be exchanged. I feel that cuddle comfort should adopt the snugglebuddies model and state that pros and clients should wear a minimum of shorts and a tank top. I do feel that cuddling in lingerie harms the cuddle industries image. I would like to think that if a clearer cut rule regarding clothing was made, it would drive away some of the clients who make unreasonable requests to pros.
  • Would you cuddle your parents, children or other family members in lingerie? There's your answer. It is very easy to get lines blurred here, so I think it's very important to maintain clear and solid boundaries. I'd like to uphold the integrety of platonic cuddling. I'd like to see this service taken seriously & respected properly. While I see nothing wrong with it, I am not here to become a sex worker. There are different sites for that.

I agree with you Jrose. I would never cuddle ANYBODY while wearing lingerie. ;)

However, I have cuddled my daughter while wearing ball shorts and a tee shirt. Some here have commented that they think that is Pervy. It's not. Perhaps those with this opinion are projecting their own feelings onto others.
  • Can we stop talking about children.
That kind of grosses me out here.
    We're adults. No children allowed.

    @greenearth what about pets?

I was asked today if I'd cuddle in undergarments.  Not the 1st, 2nd or 3rd time I've been asked this question.  I refer them back to their members agreement, and at this point all I can do is laugh...blahahahaha!!!!
  • [Deleted User]Unknown (deleted user)
@floweroflife this is one of the problems though, no where in the agreement does it state that you cannot cuddle and undergarments.
  • [Deleted User]Spoonie (deleted user)
What member agreement?  I've never asked for undies, but I thought all that's mentioned is covering the private parts.
  • [Deleted User]Unknown (deleted user)
@poonie she means the client service agreement and you are correct in your statement, all it says is that private parts must be covered.

All you really need to know as a client is that this is a platonic site and to be respectful to the Pros. If you do that you will have a wonderful session. What guys are saying is we expect the same respect from the Pros on this site. There should be no need for contracts or waivers if both parties remember those two things. Most of these guys in these forums besides no brains are respectful and should be treated as such.

Thank you for your views everyone. I have updated both agreements accordingly:

"2. Both parties will remain clothed the entire session. Undergarments do not constitute as sufficient clothing. If either party needs to change clothing this will be done in private and out of sight of the other party. If a Client shows off areas normally covered by undergarments purposely, the Cuddler has the right to leave. "

Thanks @Mark this is a very good thing

Just curious, but this is probably a silly question... do boxer shorts count as shorts or underwear?

  • I'm new to this world, but i also have a different situation going on. I'm in Iowa, no services provided here. Also, I'm paraplegic. I've also not held anyone beyond a hug since 1999. And no hugs even since 2012. I would think there would be different types of services offered. So long as private parts are covered and remain off limits. Honestly shorts and a tee shirt would probably make me somewhat self conscious as i cannot control my body's reaction to touch. However i may not be a complete gentleman in words at all times, i do know the physical limitations. When i used to go to the adult clubs with friends i was always embarrassed and the girls would laugh and put my hands where they wanted them. I've always been super shy with women, but all of the nurses and aides where i did rehab for my back were lovely. It honestly helped us men in that setting to try much harder and be better people too. I fell in love with one woman but she quit to go to school out of state. Still text but it'll never be. Anyway I'm hoping to find someone and find that feeling of having someone care, if only while paid.
  • @lost1 it sounds like you could really use a professional cuddler.but you posted this in the wrong thread. So not sure if a lot of people will see it.
  • [Deleted User]chococuddles (deleted user)
@lost1 you should maybe copy and paste that to the 'Cuddle Request' Forum. Best of luck! :)

Regarding the thread, I don't think undergarments are the bane of the industry's image.

Someday some cuddlehouse might actually have that as an option like some Pro was once offering on here before.  Some people enjoy options and upgrades.  Some don't.
  • I really hope not @Chococuddles upgrades and options??? Let's just be realistic: that's not cuddle therapy and if you want half clothed or unclothed cuddles as an option, maybe go to a strip club or craigslist. I've actually had a few cuddle clients that used to strictly cuddle at strip clubs. While its more expensive, it is slightly more on the risque side.

But to be honest I hope cuddle houses have the same rules as this site in the future..having this new rule really helps me feel safe and cared for as a pro. Not to mention I think the perspective from the outsiders' view is very important. I feel happy that I can tell my parents that I professionally cuddle, but if there were dirtier forms of cuddling and the reputation was tainted, I couldn't feel as proud of my job, nor would I feel this job is as satisfying in helping people. It would feel like there were ulterior motives on both parties and I would not feel okay talking about my passion with most people. And there should be no shame in cuddling.

It can go one of two ways...I've said this before and I'll say it again: either cuddling is going to grow in a beautiful healthy way, or it's going to grow without regulations and with everyone on different pages people can think cuddling could be anything from dry humping to make out seshes because "options are nice." It's just not very logical to have those particular upgrades from a pro's perspective but also from my perspective as just a person that would love to see and help this passion grow in the best way.
  • Why tell people to go to a strip club. They don't cuddle at strip clubs. That makes no sense. There's a no touching rule there.

  • Oh no, not again. Can there be pause on the bickering (to all concerned).

Apperciate we all have views, preferences, boundaries which differ etc. However, it's exhausting and not at all comforting to read the consistent bickering across threads.

We won't all get on- it's a given. Most of us however have an appreciation of cuddles in common.

Perhaps we can revisit that appreciation? Or find neutral topics to discuss? Or even agree to disagree, full stop.

I think we need to stop pointing fingers and throwing daggers. Mark made a decision and I personally feel he made the right decision. Enough is enough already. I hope we can all reach out in support of people like @lost1 that are new here. Let's show our community support and end the bickering already.
  • [Deleted User]chococuddles (deleted user)
    Yes. Let's be real.

There are hookers on here (as another cuddler pointed out) from Backpage.
There are Pros with little to no experience, other than being a woman, charging $80+ an hour.
There is no right or wrong way to cuddle.  Only what is deemed acceptable and agreed upon by two parties.

Some folk like to add cameras, others enjoy being offered options and upgrades.

Most Pros already offer options - 1 hour rates, 2 hour rates, discounted rates. The horror! ^_^
  • [Deleted User]Cuddlebug7458 (deleted user)

Personally, I think its fine as long as both parties are comfortable with it. I don't think it hurts the industry's image because some people like the skin on skin contact. In my opinion is similar to a massage. In a massage, one party is actually clothed in underwear (or sometimes not clothed at all) in a private room and yet there is no problem and some masseuses take incalls. So I don't see a problem. However, I do advise it against it for first time clients though.

I don't recall any massage parlors (legal ones) having advertisements using women in lingerie on their websites or in magazines.

  • Interesting how poster revives two long ago dead threads about underwear then deleted account

Closing thread as a user seems to have come to post in it to stir things up again only to delete their account right after doing so.
