The story of Clive I had a pen pal, that’s what they used to be called Lol We started writing when we were about 14. He’s in England. I flew to London and We finally met when we were about 23 He fell in love - I didn’t. We travelled to Spain, After two days in the car together, I couldn’t stand him & I had to escape to Greece. He drove back to England without me. It was not a match lol Now it’s 60 years later & we still write, Still friends. It’s important that you meet pretty quickly to be sure you feel the same way about each other.
Does she live in the Niagara Falls region? 😅
Slowly I turned ... step by step ... inch by inch ...

I just saw a post in this forum about D&D characters. 😆 No mention of cuddling. It looks like it belongs on a D&D forum. Odd, somebody here said this site was only about platonic cuddling... OK so I don't see how my topic is any further off-topic.
I have cuddle experiences randomly turn into tangential things like friendships or confidantes or chatting or whatever etc, usually just timely and temporary. Apparently one turned into relationship expectations. I ultimately accepted it as an LDR (under pressure) over time but have never given much weight to LDR just because of its nature: generally virtual. I laugh at the idea of being "exclusive" to somebody in LDR. I don't understand the perspective and I didn't really know how it was for others here. (Note that I'm talking about having met someone in another state, not someone moving away while already in a local dedicated relationship. Those are very different things, though I think the latter can lead to the effects of the former.)
I've felt polyamorous or "open" for years. I've seen those terms discussed here. I generally keep my nose out of the forums but because of the connection I was curious to post here and see the reaction. I'm fine with the idea of settling if there's a good plan and feelings for it, but there hasn't been with this one.
I appreciate the comment about the pen pal. I see LDR as most like that. I've seen long-distance phone "relationships" (back before smartphones) but I guess I just don't get the mentality with smartphones. Some people see no difference with LDR and local, but I do. I was just curious of experience with it from a cuddler's perspective because I've seen so many different kinds of relationships between cuddlers, online and off. Anyway, thanks for commenting or whatever.
@MrMadi It really doesn’t matter what other people think about long distance relationships. It only matters what you think about it. Set your own boundaries and do what makes you happy. It’s your life and your choice.
I didn't get the impression the OP was looking to date. It seems to me this person was looking from input who they assumed to be thoughtful people. It appears this person hasn't made any further comments and we can make a few assumptions based on that. The first would be maybe this was a plee for advice and when looking back got everything other than that advice and turned away, the other would be this person was going through something and has yet to come back.
If i was a person needing to discuss something after reading the responses I'd likely not return either. But hey these are the forums and people can say whatever they want, be it positive, negative or humorous. It can be helpful, hurtful or useless. But we can see what you've all offered, well done CC forum police and the like. You are staying on brand.
@MrMadi glad to see you returned to share your thoughts as the assumptions can go wild. I didn't see this explanation until after i made my comment. But as far as LDR go i agree with you, nothing to take to serious. But others may feel different, it should only matter how you feel about them and what you and the other person want to do. I am curious as to how you can be pressured in to a LDR when you can stop the interaction, however you communicate. Just state your position set boundaries and stick to it.
I think whether an LDR is serious or not depends on the people involved. My last LDR resulted in a marriage and a daughter.
I would like it to be known that just because someone doesn't respond to their own post replies within minutes or hours that it doesn't mean they have an ulterior motive. I was asleep, and I'm not constantly checking the site anyway. I think most people active here are not.
I know that ultimately what I do is my decision. That doesn't need to be said. I don't feel under control of anyone. I worry though that the ultimatum I was given was an act of control. I'm already missing all the connections I felt. I will continue to feel them at a deeper level as if they are real until i don't need to feel them anymore. I still feel as a bunny with a child's hand on my ear, to put it in the deepest simplest sense of connective feelings I've had with her.
@BashfulLoner "I am curious as to how you can be pressured in to a LDR when you can stop the interaction"
Anyone can be pressured regardless of whether they then stop the interaction or not. If your LDR says "do this for me or I won't talk to you again" creates pressure. It's an ultimatum. A dangerous one pinning everything to a small fast decision, and if agreed to could create a thousand other ones. There was no discussion accepted in this. That's why I feel so trashed. Other pressure which I felt before was to send kiss emojis when she wanted and I didn't feel like it. It was too much. I don't just leave over annoyances or easily like that. It takes a lot with a strong connection. I wish I could be more shallow.
As I am sure you already know, anyone using ultimatum to force you to behave in a certain way is not worth having a relationship with. The issue isn't distance, it sounds like the issue is you are in a relationship that your heart is not in.
Long-distant love relationships (I assume that's what you mean) are partly rooted in fantasy. The biggest obstacle lies in made-up relationship expectations that can never be fulfilled. This is why some people only date long distances. If one party moves to be closer, the relationship often implodes when one or the other realizes there is no way to come to terms with what they imagined and the reality of who this person is. You may get lucky, but long-distance relationships are at high risk for break up. This is ideal for someone who does not want to develop a long-term involvement.
@MrMadi You can make a forum post about D&D if you want to. The forums here are not exclusive to cuddling. This being a platonic cuddle platform - the site being used for dating/sex is not allowed, so forum topics about those things can easily devolve and get shut down. It doesn’t matter how pure someone’s intentions are when making a post. Members do not own or control the posts they make, so please be mindful of that.
Just adding MY OWN TUB to the commentary, if you to enter into a long distance relationship OP, I wish you best of luck.👍
My (one and only) long distance relationship didn't work out for me, so for me it's no more long distance relationships ever.😊
I knew a girl from Ipanema once... Long story
In another note Is there a paasword or something needed to open the beautiful people thread? Everytime I click on it may webpage just goes to timeout. I cant understand why.....

@MrMadi I think I understand that you feel a little frustrated that you post a sincere thread about something that is meaningful to you. Then random people turn it into some kind of silly time killer about subjects that you really had no interest in talking about. I agree and I feel that way sometimes too. I tend to take the forum more seriously, most of the time - not always. I think that if someone needs some validation about a topic that is troubling them, then it would be kind for the comments to be aimed in that direction. Maybe offer some advice or a similar experience to learn from. I have had a couple of LDRs That went different directions. I basically find them frustrating but that’s just me.
But a lot of the regulars here like to joke around and be silly and I sometimes accuse them of acting like 13-year-olds. Well, you see I’m pretty old and I tend to have a different perspective, kind of like their mom. After some real & long life experience, you will find that your opinions change. (Calm down kids)
ETA awhile ago, someone posted a thread about AI friendships. At the time I thought OMG that is so creepy. Weird bizarre. What is happening to this society? Now I’m thinking that lonely people who really don’t have anyone create this version of an LDR That is really just a fantasty, Pretend friend to talk to. And then program that friend to say exactly what they want them to and to agree with them? I 100% get this is not what you’re talking about, Just popped into my head.

Are you sure you're the right kind of beautiful?
@ScroogeMcducky you may have outdated pics. It's waiting for verification.
I’m way too affectionate and passionate for long distance relationship… It’s like I want you close to me . But not everyday all day lol
Been there done that, it very possible to make it work but it's not always easy. Plus the amount of distance plays a role in the equation, but luckily it's so easy to keep in touch these days.
