Same Gender Cuddling

I wanted to cuddle with someone (no money involved) but they said no. I was disappointed but I didn't judge them, take it hard, inquire as to why because they have the right to their preferences and to say yes or no without being pressured. I just said, "OK, thank you," and moved on

That is truly emotional intelligence in action- Easier to preach about then practice.
NO ONE likes to be rejected but we don't know what reasons people have for choosing not to interact with us.
There is genuine freedom in that reaction-Well Done.

If I ever come out to the West Coast-I would definitely enjoy a cuddle session with you.

We also share a passion for Nature and I am still wondering what a public cuddle is actually like.

  • I'm just curious @JustPlaneCuddle
Did you do any of that worth platonic male friends in high school? I'm a bit older than you, but that didn't happen as far as I could see in my high school. I would like to think it does happen more now. I think it would help counter all the anti-social trends that are going on.

And good for you for being that kind of person! Soooo needed in this world.

Im from an older generation. I cuddle with Women only.

  • @BrianOcean, well spoken.

@billiam, yes, actually! Ironically enough - my three of my best male friends in high school and early college were all platonic touch companions. Two are still very close friends of mine and we still respond to one another with this type of care and affection.

To explain a bit further : I met Mike and Travis when I was at a private school. They had been best friends when they both transferred to the same private school and we became instant friends. We kind of became a goofy little threesome of platonic harmony and did everything together. They were even my "dates" to my prom and dances when I changed to a public school and I was their "date" to formal events. When we graduated, Travis joined the Marine Corps. When he deployed, Mike and I kind of held one another together and I think our mutual need for touch grew stronger after the deployment ended short. Travis was lost in action and I actually have a tattoo on my left rib cage in remembrance. We mourned our best friend together and 17 years later, we still hold hands or touch one another's faces and have very intimate eye contact when we have serious conversations. We still hug close and frequently to the point where people assume we are lovers; we simply feel safe with one another. Mike and I will even curl up on a couch together for movie, pizza, and beer night with one of us sitting between the other's legs and rub one another's shoulders. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ I think it all really depends on the connection and the level of trust between both parties.

The other best friend, I met when I switched to the public school. Alex and I never had an issue. We have not seen one another in a good 5 - 6 years but when we do, we walk through bookstores with linked arms and lay head-to-head and watch the stars. We spoon and read one another interesting articles.

^ Photos of Alex and me from high school.

One of the most influential conversations I have ever had was with a photography mentor when I was 21. I'm not sure of his sexual affiliation nor did I ever care to find out and he never disclosed such information. He did, however, work in a similar sector of photography as me - in boudoir and dudoir. He would pose nude for artists at 65 and had no qualms with nudity being entirely platonic. One day, I was leaving his studio after a shoot and he asked if he could give me another hug. I said sure and he squeezed me so tight that it felt like he had been missing that feeling for years. This was a very happily married man, still sexually active with his wife from my knowledge. When he release me, he said, "I very much envy women. You can hug, and kiss one another's cheeks, and embrace, hold hands, and hold one another and it not be seen as dirty or wrong or sick. Men cannot do that and you know what - sometimes, you just need a hug or to be held by your friend. Sometimes, you just need your friend to hold your hand and sit with you, no matter if they are male of female." This sentiment broke my heart and I decided right then that I never wanted anyone to feel that way when they were around me. I think that's when I realized that part of my calling was in touch and not just photography.

  • Since cuddling with men is new to me I seem to enjoy the strong hold more.

  • @Brianin562, you are not the first person I have heard say this. I have a few clients that have said they would never say it in public but they book with a man for a more firm, stronger hold. I think there are quiet a few of us that need that exact pressure feeling from time to time rather than a softer, more effeminate touch.

  • @JustPlaneCuddle
Thank you for the stories and the pics. They made me smile, though I'm really sad to hear about Travis. I'm glad you and Mike have/had each other.

I love that some people are able to find and have this kind of connection. It makes me feel good.

  • @Brianin562
I'm with you on the strong hold. I like the bear hugs with guys most.

  • @HarleyGirlKate

I have never cuddled (as far as I know) with a transman or transwoman before, though I'm certainly open to doing so.

    I volunteer as tribute!

  • @Unscented_Lemon: Absolutely! Please let me know if you ever get out my way. I would be delighted to cuddle with you. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • I cuddle any gender.

  • @HarleyGirlKate That's actually not too far away, unless you count that it's on the other coast.

  • You and me both @Mela_B !!!!!

That is true. Latitudinally it isn't too terribly far, lol. It is that east-west thing that is the cheese in the ice cream. ๐Ÿฆ

Funny thing, I'm originally from New England and used to travel all over Massachusetts for work pretty much weekly from the late-90s until about 2008.

  • @Mela_B - SIDENOTE : Your piercings are amazing. ๐Ÿคฉ

  • @HarleyGirlKate
There you go bringing up cheese you really are after my heart aren't you

    @pmvines: You're funny. ๐Ÿ˜„ ๐Ÿซถ

  • @Brianin562 if we were closer, I wouldn't hesitate to cuddle with you. I would be honored to!!

  • Merging two thread topics into one:

When two guys cuddle there is always a tip.

  • About 15% of my clients are women. Cuddling another girl is always a softer experience. In part, because they are just not as physically large and I don't need to stretch around and contort as much to really squeeze them. Lol!!!

  • Would love to cuddle women and other non-men! Hasnโ€™t happened yet tho ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

  • @PinkMallo and @sophrosune I love and appreciate the open mindness and acceptance

  • @HarleyGirlKate I'm on my way to Cali as you know!! Happy to let it be known that I'd be blessed to cuddle with ya โœจ๐Ÿซ‚โœจ

I'm feeling like a dolt, right now. I have friend girls who come and squeeze me, and I hold them while they melt in and recharge... I'll hold them for as long as they wish to stay. I NEVER even considered that this might be considered cuddling!! lol They know that they can always come, they are always welcome, and that I'll stand there and just hold them, synchronizing our breathing, until they release... Never thought of it this way! lol

But it's not the same... I get squeezed, a lot, by my friend girls and by my family members, and it's a total joy... But it seems one-sided, to me. I'm a "girl mom," so this touch is natural and organic, almost expected, in my circle.. The problem is that this energy doesn't balance me out the way that a strong, clear Masculine can. My fella is fully informed of (and agrees to) my wish to balance my energy by cuddling, but it only works with the duality of a Masculine energy... At least for me... Can't wait, either! lol

    Women cudlding women yes
The tone of this seems to be sexualizing the cuddling act being discussed. I'll leave this up as an example of how not to speak on a platonic site. [Shake]

  • One of the aspects of platonic cuddling I value most is physically interacting with different types, shapes, physicality... of human. When not constrained by attraction there is so much to learn about people and how you can interact physically. I do my best to connect to the core of the person and provide what they need touch-wise. I've had a lot of burly dudes who need to be held, and tiny women who want to do the holding. Lol. It is all lovely. As long as it is platonic I really feel its part of a pro's job to physically interact with a client however it makes the client feel best.

  • @PinkMallo After what you just said I would say YOU are lovely. And there is so much to learn (that's all good) when not constrained by physical attraction.

  • @achetocuddle I think you are a great person as well. If we were closer, I would love to cuddle with you.

@Auroradream: "I'm on my way to Cali as you know!! Happy to let it be known that I'd be blessed to cuddle with ya โœจ๐Ÿซ‚โœจ"

Yes, and I hope you have a wonderful time and that our paths cross. Would love to show you the giant tree. I remember how impressed I was, never having seen a redwood before, nevermind a 1500 - 1800 year old one. I find is enjoyable now to see what has now become my giant, vegetable friend through another's eyes. Especially if they have never seen giant trees before, which I hope you haven't yet. ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ˜€

I would also definitely feel blessed if we are able to cuddle too. ๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ™
