Celebrity sighting!

Okay, so later this month I'm going to California and I HOPE to maybe lay eyes on someone famous. Today, on a flight from North Carolina to Pensacola, FL I spied a really rad TV personality. He was with his two beautiful daughters and I saw him and casually said "Hey, Rob?!"
It was Boston Rob Mariano, Survivor champion and recent contestant on Deal or No Deal Island!! I said "I love your work and I won't make a fuss but you and I go way back and it's cool to see you."
He was really handsome. I've always thought he looked like my oldest brother. I don't think I acted like an idiot but I need my celeb sighting plan for the next time that happens!!
Any cool celebrity sighting stories?

    I see them almost every day. I’ve often been in their homes. I work for a utility company in LA and service the Hollywood area. I’ve never been a starstruck type person though, it’s really no big deal to me.

    My plan? In public, I always leave them alone, ESPECIALLY when they're with their kids. Celebs happen at often at Michigan universities and those cities. Unless I'm personally introduced, they're left alone. Maria Shriver and Madonna aren't just celebs, they're people.

    Imagine picking up the phone at work and it's Ed Norton on the line calling to ask questions about his mortgage. . Others as well. Wolfgang Pack. 25 minutes on the phone with the CEO of whole foods.
    But you have to stay professional can't start shooting the shit with them unless they initiate of course

    I'm kinda happy I'm no longer taking these calls and moved to another dept.

    Seen quite a few. Used to live in Nashville. Have been on flights with several celebrities in sports, music and notable politicians. Have talked to a few, and treat them like anyone else. Most seem to appreciate that.

    I've seen quite a few "stars", I don't really care about the typical ones though, they're just normal people with a more public job that I personally don't find interesting.

    I would be much more interested in meeting people like Don Lincoln or Lisa Su. They do things that do interest me.

    I saw late Kirstie Alley outside the Tampa airport once, we were waiting for our rides; we looked at each other and said "hi". She seemed nice.

    A year or two ago, Keith David sat by my side on a flight from Denver to Milwaukee. No exchanges, he fell asleep and missed the food service (we were serviced an actual meal, I was fortune to be upgraded because of all the traveling I do for work). When he woke up and saw everyone eating, he called the flight attendant to get some food. She told him the 2 options, plus the snack boxes available, and he replied "that's it?". It's a 2.5-h flight, come on...

    Yesterday I read that Kevin Bacon went to the streets wearing a costume, so no one could identify him. His experience: “People were kind of pushing past me, not being nice," he said. "Nobody said, ‘I love you.’ I had to wait in line to, I don’t know, buy a fucking coffee or whatever. I was like, This sucks. I want to go back to being famous." Entitled much???

    I was just giving @Morpheus a taste of his own flavor. He deserves it. And it doesn't affect him in the least, as he's a meanie. No need to yuck on my own excitement and put himself up at the same time. Celebrities may be what ever but I've never been to Cali. Been literally dreaming of this trip for decades.

    Not sure how that make me a snob. I’m a professional and just doing my job. I don’t choose to have celebrity customers. I click a button on my iPad and I’m dispatched where I’m dispatched. I didn’t choose to work in Hollywood, it’s where I was placed when I was hired. I treat my all of my customers the same whether they are celebrities that live in amazing houses or humble people in lovely small apartments with or without washers or dryers. In all honestly, in general, the poorer the customer, generally the nicer and more generous they are. In the area I work, I see all walks of life from rich mansions in the hills to armies of homeless people walking the streets. I carry extra food and drinks in my work truck and when I’m out in the community, if I see people in need, I happily pass out snacks and water. I would never like you did make a comment about what you perceive as someone’s misery. Some people have more than others but in my daily life, I make sure that I show love to everyone and speak no ill of peoples circumstances.

    Met Arnold Palmer and met Jack Nicklaus. They were both nice enough to gift me memorabilia and clothing.

    Also met Tom Izzo, head coach of the men's basketball team at Michigan State

    Met a couple of Detroit Mayors.

    One time I was having brunch on the top of some Beverly Hills hotel, you entered the hotel to get on the elevator, I got on at floor 1 and then it stopped at floor 2 and Michael Douglas got on and he was wearing a bath robe. I just said “hello Michael” and he got off on the 4th

    I use to work in downtown Chicago and have scene a few movie shoots. I saw Chris Farley walking down Rush street out with friends. I saw Bruce Willis filming Mercury Rising I believe. Kathy Bates walking off the street for Unconditional love. I got to walk on the set of crushed buildings during the first Transformers. Saw Shia Lebouf.

    I saw Sandra Bullock in the first class lounge in LAX way back in 2009 or 2010 she was with her son and I didn’t bother her

    I attended a party in the Hamptons with my grandmother where Yoko Ono was the guest of honor

    And I also saw Woody Allen and his Wife a couple tables over from us in a restaurant in Paris.

    In all cases I left them alone I was very young and shy but also felt bad bothering them and I wasn’t a super fan of any of them so I wasn’t sure exactly what I would have said to them anyways.

    I don’t think I have ever seen a celebrity out in the wild. I love the fact that Snoop Dog wears costumes to his grandkids’ parties though so as not to take the attention away from them. I went to California recently for the Netflix Comedy Festival and I thought celebs would be hanging out all over the place but I did not go out to any fancy meals or clubs so I must have missed them!

    My celeb story is presented in the form of a riddle.

    It occured at the Whole Foods on South Street in Philadelphia. I shared a brief, elevator ride with a familiar-seeming woman with the aura of a tiny librarian. I had heard her say her own name hundreds of times. But I could not place her.

    I said, "You look so familiar. I think I've seen you somewhere before." She looked at me with a bit of an expectant smile but she did not utter a sound. I used to go to that Whole Foods often, so I said, "maybe here?" The guy she was with repeated, "maybe here." I could tell something about the exchange was amusing to them. But I did not get the joke.

    They got off with their groceries on the second floor, and I proceded up to the roof of the parking garage. I parked up there because I enjoyed the view of City Hall. When the elevator doors opened to the outside world, I thought, "Ahh... Fresh air!"

    I'm embarassed to say; it took my conscious brain five more minutes to put two and two together. I'm such a nerd.

    Years ago I saw Michael Clarke Duncan shopping in a grocery store near where I was living at the time (Woodland Hills, CA) and around the same time I saw Alec Baldwin at the Topanga mall near there. I also almost hit Jeremy Piven with my car as he was getting out of his own car in Hollywood. Thankfully I didn’t or I would probably have been sued into oblivion.

    I randomly met Sting when I lived in NYC. He was coming out of a fancy restaurant on Central Park South and I almost literally ran into him! He was very polite and thanked me for complimenting his musical career. Amazingly enough, I didn’t freak out!

    Most of my celeb sightings and actual meetings have been at comic cons and stuff like that. Lena Headey, Karl Urban, etc

    Definitely walked past Ralph Fiennes in London though he was calling someone so I couldn't bother him 😅

    Actually thinking about it, I was volunteering at a charity shop like 15 years ago and Dame Maggie Smith popped in. Didn't buy anything but she was really nice.

    Not really a celebrity sighting but I went to the same high school as several music artists and actors... One example is Cage the Elephant, they graduated the year before me with my roommate.
