Longer is still never enough

[Deleted User]donhulio (deleted user)

I just had my longest cuddle session yet - 4 hours (and then some) - and it was amazing and yet still ended too early.

I have got to find another job. Or a girlfriend. 😂

(In case it's not obvious, this is mostly sarcastic but also rooted in the reality that I could probably never get too much of cuddling. 😅)

  • @donhulio Yep, a four hour cuddle is a great amount of time. There’s just something about four hours.

  • An hour is definitely not enough, you get into your groove and it’s over. 2-3 is my sweet spot.

Two hours is the minimum for me, and appropriate for a first cuddle. After that, I generally prefer the 4-5 hour time frame. Overnights are nice too, once you have a certain comfort level with the other person.

Four. Hours. That sounds iNcReDiBle!!!! And you're right... longer is never enough! It's like the time just shrinks, making hours seem, suddenly, like minutes.. And then, it's over.. :(

  • I think I’ve done 6-7 hours. With bathroom breaks of course. Also I was doing energy healing with the person.

3-4 is about average lately. Definitely need to find an enthusiast or such.

  • Right?? It's not a good fit for everyone, but I definitely prefer a longer cuddle sesh over a short one, or at least a couple hours regularly. One hour once in a blue moon just doesn't cut it 🤷🏼

  • Yes, I find an hour goes by really fast when cuddling with someone whose company and energy I enjoy.

  • 3 hours is enough for me. Unless we fall asleep or something then the time doesn't matter but after 3 hours it's kind of annoying being in bed or a couch that long

  • I have to agree with @Melancholy

  • I love longer cuddles. We usually talk and laugh for a good hour or so before getting quiet and when the vibe is right, it doesn’t matter how long we planned because the alarm is going to go off way too quickly regardless. I’ll eventually need to settle down because it is starting to get quite depressing when it’s over.

  • Four hours? Assuming it’s with a pro, that’s like a car payment for the month, lol.

  • I love all day cuddles. 💜

  • [Deleted User]donhulio (deleted user)

@SeekerInVA yep. Hence the need for a second job. 😉

  • 1 is not enough. 2 is good but want more. One time I got close to 3 hours, ran out of cuddle positions and had lower back pain 💀. Miss you Rae 😳

  • Long cuddles are great with the right person.
However, 1 hour can be way too long with the wrong person in the wrong environment.

  • I agree with @ShaneSchrute .

I am anxious. Seemingly arbitrary things can make it difficult for me to relax. And I rarely settle in quickly enough to fully connect in the first hour. Combined with the fact that my optimal cuddle time exceeds my cuddle budget, this makes it particularly challenging for me to book pro cuddles.

(Lest my comment be misunderstood, I appreciate cuddle pros tremendously. This is not a gripe about cuddle pricing.)

  • For all of the talk about how therapeutic cuddling is, how we all need touch, human contact, the fact is whether it's 2 hours or 12, it comes to an end. When the cuddler leaves all the wonderful feelings you just experienced are abruptly over and the depression can, not always, set in. Ultimately this is not a healthy position. The money is a big part of the down feelings afterwards......what I should have done with that money.....to late now. So, for me this is a place to be pulled in two directions at the same time.
It can never be enough, that is the problem.......find a girlfriend :)

  • ok, that's weird.....I did not put the smiley face emoji at the end of my post......someone else did ! who? don't like that.....

  • I am not smiling

We've found ourselves in a place where the things that we want are so close, we taste it but it's short lived. This is a humanity problem. I thank the creators of this website for the attempt. (There's never been anything like it). But the guarantee is missing. (Of course we know there are none, we know this) As people that crave connection, in a pool of people who crave connection, the missing component may be, a generosity mindset. Reaching out, I believe cures depression. Help someone ...with anything. We can't lose our faith in our humanity. There are tons of examples why we should lose faith, but faith, generosity, smiles, those are the blooms of our human nature, we indulge them as a result of the work. That makes them so much nicer.

Does cuddling make us better? Maybe, this thing we do here is mostly our mindset. A lovely cuddle is you, not anyone else. Our experiences are our burden not theirs. That's too much to put on another person.

If we think of ourselves as helping ourselves and professionals meet their demands or schedules or with their health, we take on in my opinion a different vibration and as a result, a different posture. (I know there is reality, I'm talking about a mental state) It is you that's helping. Whatever we pay helps them because they may NEED it. (Remember this is the helping mindset we are building) It fills something in them and in us. There's a value component that we are serving that adds balance.

  • hey! where is your smiley face ? they didn't give you one.
this stream of conscious writing is a little hard to follow............

  • I know most of the posts above are from male enthusiasts who are mainly speaking of hiring Pro's, so my experience will differ greatly, speaking as a female enthusiast who is here to make friends. With that in mind...

I love cuddles of all different lengths and types; it all depends on the person I'm cuddling, how well I know them, how compatible our cuddle styles and personalities are...and of course, what my time constraints are, that day.

With someone I really jive with, both from a cuddle perspective, and as a person, my longest cuddle was 7 & 1/2 hours with zero breaks. We never left the picnic blanket. 😄 It was phenomenal. It's such a delight to connect with someone so deeply on so many levels, like that.

On the flipside, I can thoroughly enjoy a simple cuddle in a restaurant booth after sharing lunch with a cuddle buddy, or walking arm in arm downtown. A few minutes of compassion or closeness can be lovely; for me, it's about the friendship as a whole. My longest low-contact time with a cuddle buddy was 11 & 1/2 hours. We held hands at times, and hugged at the end, but most of that time we were just talking and sharing. It was our first meeting; we had lunch, then went across the street to a coffee shop, and literally talked the entire afternoon and evening until they closed. Then we continued talking on the patio until after midnight. 😄 We haven't had a chance to meet up again (different states), so we've never actually cuddled. Still a beautiful memory...it's never just about cuddling or physical touch, for me.

Lastly, at group cuddles, I love to treat them like tasting parties, and move around frequently to different people. 👫🏻👩🏻‍🤝‍👩🏼 I can catch up with old friends this way, get to know new people, and find out through a ten minute talk/cuddle if I may want to meet that person one-on-one, later. It's fun, good practice for my social anxiety, and helps me learn about myself and others.

So whether half the day, or just a few minutes, full-body contact or minimal touch, I really enjoy the spectrum of cuddles, and appreciate the variety of cuddle buddies I have made, the past few years. ✨️

  • A few stream of consciousness thoughts…Rather than look back with regret that a cuddle has ended, I try to smile because it happened. The rise in oxytocin is REAL and so it’s best to revel in it and also be prepared for the drop. I try to have an abundance mentality rather than scarcity (@GuitarGar) but of course my experiences are as a pro female and so different from those of different categories. Not getting into needs/wants/budgets here. We all have them.

I like to compare the joy of cuddles with my pleasure in having my favorite desserts…there is a right amount, and if I overindulge I won’t feel good…but wait a few hours and I could have another slice of peanut butter pie /carrot cake/substitute your fave here. I am never fully sated when it comes to cuddles or desserts!

My longest cuddle was around 5 hours and it was delightful…I had a no show, which could have really sent me into a tail-spin of negativity and so I was so into the cuddle with the previous client that I just offered him to stay as long as he was able. Not every cuddle should be that long but sometimes it’s a Goldilocks cuddle-Juuuust right!

Alright, should I stop work on AI cuddlebot 4000?

  • @VitaminJ I like your perspective, and it reminds me of my first cuddle session ever.

Leading into it I was both excited and nervous. I was also experiencing a small degree of disbelief that I was finally giving myself this gift after needing it for so long.

It turned out to be exactly what I needed. Yes, there was a bit of a post-cuddle letdown, but it didn't take long for me to recognize something important: it was an experience that I could repeat in the future. Knowing that I could, made the need feel less urgent. It was a while before it happened, but when I did schedule again, I got to experience the joy of anticipation as I counted down the days, in addition to the joy of the session itself.

There's a sense in which I could choose to feel that I'll never get enough, but I prefer to focus on the rich gift that it is each time I have the opportunity to do it again.

  • VitaminJ and JoyfulHeart both very nice and I've experienced those feelings too........for whatever reason not so much lately

  • @Jack62 you should be able to edit your post (if mods changed something it would usually be clear because the change will usually be in a box in different colors.)

    @GuitarGar i would love a cuddle bot

    @Jack62 cc: @ShaneSchrute
(Moderator) I don’t think any mods touched it. It doesn’t say edited and there’s nothing in the change log. Perhaps you accidentally typed a colon and a closing parenthesis which converted to an emoji. If a mod edits anything we put a mod note at the end. I think it would be extremely unethical for a mod to edit a comment (even just adding an emoji) without putting a mod note indicating that it was changed.

Edit: Testing if a colon/parenthesis gets changed to an emoji: :)
    Edit 2: Yep it does.

  • @donhulio congratulations! I've done long sessions, including overnights which I enjoyed. No intent to douse the enthusiasm, but in my case, the "cuddle high" did indeed wane in time (not quickly, mind you). Having other social companionship took its place, I believe. You may be on to something with your own suggestion for yourself (another job or girlfriend).

  • a colon brings up a small menu of 4 emojis, I've never seen that before and adding a parenthesis, does nothing....on my old desk top computer. :) unless it gets changed after it's posted
