I hate bugs that bite-----with the exception of Cicadas and Butterflies

Ever since the dawn of time, man has been battling! bugs. It's an epic "good vs evil" war that most likely will never end! Cicadas and Butterflies stay out of the fight because their energy is spent mostly on fluttering around. I should add fireflies to the list because they provide a source of clean energy---no electricity required to light up the sky at night!. Do have any idea you how much fun it is to go outside, on a picture picture perfect day, only to find your arms and legs shredded by evil bug bites---biting bugs deserve the death penalty!

  1. Do you agree
  2. If the answer is no-.-do you keep them as pets? re they house broken?
  3. Do people hate my posts (on second thought, that's irrelevant)
  4. What is the worst event that has occurred in your life that you overcame?

Comments

  • The bugs were here first.

  • Are you sure---I don't remember bugs on earth until I cut my yard a few days ago-----they left a bunch of unwanted presets

  • I'm sure. When I go outside, they're already there.

  • Bugs are the owners of the world, especially the ones that bite. We are the unlimited food source and entertainment for them.

    Do butterflies and cicadas bite?

  • nope--thats why they are not evil

*****SINCE YOU ASKED ***** …….A HARD YES ON YOUR OPTION NUMBER 3! Thank you for inviting me to share why I (to use your own words) “hate your posts”.

Almost every single one of your MANY posts, abuse the good graces of this message board by relentlessly posting RIDICULOUS off the wall rubbish topics like this one here.

The most notable example of you not thinking before you post is your one about your abusive behavior to your wife by calling her BEAGLE BEAK and then proclaiming how extremely uncomfortable she felt leaving you home alone with your daughter!

On top of that almost every one of your posts has some self deprecating phrase like call me crazy or I’m nuts or maybe I’m wrong or maybe I’m this or maybe I’m that, etc, yet you call me out for recommending that you might benefit from some professional help….. only for you to go off again on some new off the rail topic, like this one. And then you just keep responding over and over when someone replies. And then you never check your spelling and always go back and re-post fixing your typos rather than just editing them. It happens all the time. Rinse repeat. Rinse repeat. It’s maddening.

And while I certainly do not profess to speak for everyone here, I know for a fact that I speak for some. On top of others’ public comments, I have gotten a number of private messages from other members (pro and non) that have either engaged with messaging with you or that just see a very unhealthy pattern in your online and offline behavior and are either uncomfortable, concerned, irritated or all of the above and agree that you might not be in a good place, but they are too afraid to say it publicly. We are not allowed to post screenshots of private messages plus so I do not want to embarrass you or humiliate you I’m just trying, once again, to hold a mirror up to you and trying in the nicest way possible to please ask that you be open minded to examining your behavior and think twice about your posts.

So yes, I hate your posts, but I do not hate you. Absolutely not. You seem like a very nice man with a warm heart. but also an inner struggle as well.

WE ARE ALL SUPPOSED TO BE FRIENDS HERE; united under this wonderful and fulfilling flag called cuddling.

I sincerely hope that something constructive here can resonate with you. This time around….

  • you know westside marc---it entertains me to know that I am inside your head (lots of empty space I see) open to torture---you keep reading my posts even though so you say you hate them--I assume you have a hidden crush--so flattered!I Therefor will take joy in posting thousand more--to help refresh your reading skills--the title of the forum---that essential any subject as long as it respectful. There is nothing wrong with my postings--and I feel sorry for your bitter life--my next post might be entitled "what makes marc tick." And of course not to upset you my daughter and I will continue to call my-ex wife as beagle beak as long as she lives.

  • Now back to original subject

  • @bashful--thank you for your response concentrated on the posting subject---ye--biting bugs are evil

  • The power was out for over 2 days following a tornado. The neighbors were running outdoor generators. The cicadas were singing loudly. The combination of both made for a rather loud unpleasant noise which made sleeping difficult.Which was the loudest? I couldn't pick a winner.

Well, I can’t help but read your many ridiculous posts because I am an active member of this message board community as you are and by definition I see all posts, regardless of the OP. . Someone once suggested the ability to block posters if that feature were available, I would sign up in a minute.

And no, being respectful as you put, it is not the sole criteria for posting here. And you’re not even respectful. You seem keen on insulting me but I don’t intentionally insult you. I choose my words very carefully and I call them how I see them.

And despite the fact that in so many of your posts, you always self proclaim maybe I’m nuts maybe I’m crazy etc etc that it’s funny how when someone calls you out on it you NEVER in any of your responses here or anywhere take any kind responsibility for your own side of the street, or address any of the many things I bring up to you. All you can do is make
empty and projecting pseudo homosexual comments back, call me empty headed and say you enjoy tormenting me. Doesn’t sound very respectful to me.

Despite me sharing my thoughts on how you present yourself here I always try to be constructive and proactive and try to reach out to you with a bit of compassion, even though it might be veiled in my own frustration, but you don’t seem able to have any ability whatsoever to respond to anything written.

I challenge you to do so.

  • @WestsideMarc Your hostility, insults, and apparent desire to create drama do absolutely nothing good on the forums. Despite what you think, there's no need to disrupt a thread just because you personally do not like the person posting. And you absolutely do not speak for me about anything.

Please try to learn how to ignore threads or people that you don't like, and how to simply not respond to them instead of treating everyone around to your angry venting.

  • I'm sad that firefliy season is now ended. Just a week or two ago, going for walks at night, I would see fireflies flashing all over the place in the trees and empty fields. It looks like a cheap science fiction special effect.

Mosquitos can die in a fire, though. Except that bats eat them, so we can't completely get rid of them. We just need more bats.

    @IronLemon

    1) Wrong. You obviously didn’t read both posts completely. He outright solicited opinions of people that LITERALLY HATE his posts directly in his original post see Option 3.

    2) Wrong again, you did not read both posts. I specifically said no I do not hate him and I even went as far to say he seems like a person with a warm heart!

    3) Wrong again you did not read both comments I never said I spoke for you or everyone. I specifically said I do not speak for everyone here, but that I know, I speak for some based on posts on the board that other people have written in addition to the private messages that I received from people about him. Come on man.

    4) Wrong again. At least you’re consistent. Posts get disrupted all the time, again re-read the OPs option 3.

It’s not hostility, I honestly love the forums
And try to contribute to them in a positive manner as much as possible. We all know that there’s some negativity that goes on here and I have certainly seen “hostility” on your part on various topics including gender.

I do want to give a little weight to what you said I honestly and truly do try to avoid some of the posts and posters. There are many that Dennis has created that I start to type a reply and then I say no I don’t have to fight every battle so I do absolutely DO agree with you. I have gotten better with this, but on this particular one since he opened the door I simply walked through it.

  • @WestsideMarc

Almost every single one of your MANY posts, abuse the good graces of this message board by relentlessly posting RIDICULOUS off the wall rubbish topics like this one here.

Sure, you're not hostile and don't hate anyone. You clearly are and do. Your actions speak a lot louder than your empty words.

But you are right about one thing. I didn't read both your posts in entirety. When a post starts out with such hostility, I ignore it, the way you should learn how to do. And the way I'm going to ignore everything else you post in the future.

Do not reply or address me in any way.

  • @marc---I only hate bugs that bite--and beets---beets are an evil vegetable --in the past--I would "do down with the ship" rather them eat them---its only fair that biting bugs and beets would attack my simplistic silly forum!

  • Once an again, i took a few minutes to be entertained or informed by what i see in the forums and once again i was disappointed. Thanks guys for consistency.

  • @BashfulLoner I think the storm is over. Time for the cicadas to come out. (I don't know if there's any bugs prone to coming out right after the rain)

I've never seen a mayfly swarm either. Poor little guys. They're adults for just one day, and then they all die. But boy are there a lot of them.

  • yes--but think of all they have while they are here

  • all the fun

  • @dennis22554 butterflies don’t bite because they don’t have mouths. They have a long tube on the end of their heads called a proboscis. They can’t bite you with those even if they hated your posts ;)

  • I'm off--have a great day

    1. No.
    2. Yes. Not necessary.
    3. Prefer to stay focused on the bugs. 🥰
    4. Prefer not to say. Painful to talk about.

Here is Charlotte, who passed about 50 years ago now. She was very dear to me as a child.

  • @HarleyGirlKate thank you sharing that picture of Charlotte with us! She’s very elegant even in her current state. I’m a big fan of creatures who get unfairly maligned by some.

  • edited July 2024

@ShaneSchrute: Thank you back for the kind words about Charlotte. I agree with you about unpopular creatures, including ones I don't care for myself--they all have their place and right to exist as a species, just as we all do. ✌️🫶

    1. I love insects and bugs :D every creature big or small serves a purpose, remove it from the equation and there will be changes.
    2. I'd much rather enjoy seeing them in the wild.
    3. I don't hate any posts
    4. Seeing the result of a cyclist being hit one Christmas eve. Could a helmet and proper gear have saved him, maybe, maybe not. I've lived through a lot of terrible crap, and Ive seen a lot of terrible crap. But that one has always stuck with me. I can't say I overcame it, but I live with it and learned how to process it, an take it as a lesson while I'm out riding.
