One-Time vs Ongoing Cuddle Buddies

[Deleted User]_Meadowlark_ (deleted user)

I'm curious how people feel about meeting for cuddling only once or twice vs having a more ongoing cuddle buddy? I personally prefer having a more regular cuddle buddy, assuming everything goes well, but I'm not sure how common that is on the site. (I'm also an enthusiast seeking other enthusiasts, so not sure how that impacts things.)

For example, I notice that on some profiles, the person has many karma reviews, all from different people (usually from pros). While it totally makes sense that someone would want to try a few different pros, sometimes I'm struck by the number of reviews, since it indicates that for most or all of the people they cuddled, it was only once or twice. I'm a little surprised that finding a pro (or enthusiast cuddle buddy) you like and seeing them regularly doesn't seem to be more common-or perhaps it just appears that way because each person can only leave one review on your profile? Or maybe only cuddling once or twice helps to keep everything platonic? Anyway, curious to hear people's thoughts, preferences, or experiences.

Would given you some feedback but you randomly blocked me. 😂

  • Ongoing cuddle buddies is by far the way to go from my point of view. Even first time cuddles can be lovely, but by the time you’ve met up a dozen times, you start getting really good at it, both through increased trust and by having learned what your buddy likes. And there’s a beautiful fluency to that, like playing sports or jamming together.

  • @Meadowlark You are right that only being able to leave one karma for someone makes it appear that way, especially if you want to leave a new one—you must delete/repost the karma. It's kinda hard to tell how many times someone has cuddled. There are also those that don't leave karma at all, which throws the numbers off too.

I would prefer to have some who are more regular, and I have a couple I’ve cuddled with more than once, as well as some who want to cuddle again and who I would enjoy seeing again. A lot of my cuddles have been with people from out of town or on business trips, so they don’t pass through my area often.

Having different cuddlers is one way some people keep feelings in check, while others are looking for that perfect cuddler. Not all cuddling styles are the same, and some enjoy exploring the variety. It’s also about finding the right energy and connection, which can take time. I think both approaches have their own benefits, and it really comes down to personal preference and what you're looking for in the experience.

  • My preference will always be to meet up with regular cuddle buddies. As an enthusiast, you have freedom to connect with as many people as you like, but it takes some time to find that ideal cuddler. So having the perfect cuddle situation, in my eyes, is someone you have good cuddle chemistry with, enough in common to talk about/open communication, is nearby to you, your schedules match up and doesn’t try to push past platonic. The biggest hurdles for me have been finding people who will respect my boundaries first, and the killer is always distance and schedules, which then is why I rotate between a few regular cuddlers. I will say over the last year I have preferred connecting with traveling cuddlers because they have more motivation to get to a cuddle, rather than some conversations that can drag on or we have trouble settling on a time that works for us both easily. Always a public meet first!!

  • When a pro has multiple booked sessions with a client, the client's karma will have a green bar on the pro's profile, to indicate a repeat client. Interestingly, this doesn't appear on the pro's karma for the client. Although against the site terms, people do book repeat sessions off-site. This is a bad idea for various reasons but it also means you won't be able to tell whether they're a repeat client.

I personally lean towards more sessions with a consistent cuddle buddy, but plenty of clients and pros alike are not looking for this. Sometimes it's a person's natural inclination to have many/multiple partners (the Portland ENM community is legend for this). Other times it's that to reach their financial goals, they need to have, say, 10 hours of cuddles a week. On the other hand, consistent cuddle buddies limits safety issues from meeting new strangers - but single sessions and limited communication probably helps prevent stalkers, so I'm not always sure which is better. Choose the people you build connections with carefully, I guess is what I'd say.

(p.s. you can mute your account if you want to participate on the forums but stop unsolicited messages)

  • On-going cuddles with one person is my personal preference. But, the case has been made by others that with that, there is risk of too much attachment.

I like having regulars but I love new experiences and learning new minds. It’s also hard on here for me to really get it going because a lot of people book and never show up or say they’re going to book and don’t. So it’s definitely good to have regulars who actually do what they’re going to say and respect your time. But there definitely is a fear of attachment because you never know how someone views you being friendly or kind to them. Some people take that to the head and think they can start pushing boundaries and that’s not ok

  • I think I would prefer to have cuddles with 2 or 3 people on my 'roster' if you will. Not to sound like a jerk, but If I was with one person regularly the feelings of attachment would probably win. Having a couple of friends to cuddle with means that if I start to catch feelings for someone, I can make sure to take a step back but still have someone I am comfortable cuddling with. It's true, the more you spend time with someone the better the cuddles!

  • I've only met one person, an built a bit of bond or kinship not sure the right word, but I have the same masseuse, barber, dentist, dr, It's a matter of comfort I guess but I'd still cuddle with other people, but I need to take the time to get to know them first, se we are both comfortable with each other, if that makes sense.

  • I would love to have a steady cuddle partner. BUT if I did, I would think it would be hard over time to not have feelings developing. After all if it was a steady thing it would be because there was a chemistry of sorts. I don't expect to have this problem :)

  • I am a pro but personally I prefer having regular clients vs having a 1-2 time cuddle, you build a better friendship. I personally think it gives me a sense of comfort knowing I’m going to say teddys house vs meeting someone new. I find I’m more relaxed and comfortable. We have a stronger friendship, they know what to expect from me I know what to expect from them, and trust is built.. being a pro obviously, I have to have one time cuddle sometimes too.. but I definitely prefer a regular cuddle to a one time cuddle, but we all have to find our people, some cuddles I don’t connect to the person, others we hit it off and have lots to talk about and joke about and it’s honestly a great time, I genuinely look forward to seeing my regulars and it’s not just because I’m getting paid.

  • Ongoing is best. No question.

  • I enjoy my regular clients, some I've had since the beginning of my career 😁. It's a joy being along for each other's journeys in life.

However, I'm a tool to be used in the arsenal of well-being for others, so although sad when I only see someone once or a handful times, I'm happier when I see them fulfilled in their lives and no longer need my services as well. Be it in a relationship, moving, health/life changes....

    Happy Cuddling 💕🥰

  • Why choose?!! 💁‍♀️

  • If you're compatible with the other cuddler, then an ongoing cuddle buddy can be absolutely wonderful.

@MissAdventurous I'm so sorry, but I laughed at your phrasing of "I'm a tool" - I've never before thought of the phrase as a positive. Anytime I've ever said that, it was intended as self-deprecating humor. So you brightened my day. Again =)

  • I need to have a cuddle session first. And the SW Chicago suburbs seems to have a dearth of enthusiasts.

  • Yep, I love "I'm a tool to be used in the arsenal of well-being for others" as a mission statement =)

  • I’ve created a great relationship with a cuddlist a few months ago. We clicked immediately and I saw her many times. She only hosts though, which with my work can be a little difficult to schedule. I’m now seeing another cuddlist who comes to my home and it’s been wonderful. I’ll go see my previous cuddlist again for sure (we’re still in touch and chat once in while), but right now this works better for me.

  • @Jack62 you bring up a good point there, I feel like that would definitely be a possibility.

That's why I believe it helps to look at this as medicine or therapy, it creates a mental barrier, for me with getting a massage or going to physiotherapy, or even cuddling, I'm not super comfortable being touched, so I have to tell myself it's medicine, It's helping me get better. But I mean it's different for everyone, an feelings will still arise in some shape or form I would imagine.

@wanacuddle85 I'm still convinced you have mastered some ancient cuddling technique lol. But it's definitely a situation of trust, and just meshing with the right person. I like routine things, so if it ain't broke why fix it lol.

  • From my personal experience as a pro... I usually meet cuddlers once or twice, once we get into the swing of cuddling and getting to know each other better, the clients don't want to continue paying and that's the end of my time with that particular cuddler. 🤷

  • The majority of my clients are not local but rather passing through Greenville for work. I absolutely love when they repeat whether that’s a few months later or even yearly visits around the holidays.

While I always welcome new clients, there’s definitely a deeper comfort with partners when you already know you can feel safe and comforted by each other.

  • How lucky you that you can choose! Here and nearby, only 0-times cuddlers!

I prefer to make a connection and cuddle more than once with the same person. It’s hard to find those who are likeminded. Cuddling strangers is a lot of work for me. Getting to a first time cuddle with someone means I took a long time getting to know them and screening them. Once I meet someone I can trust I feel much better.

Really interesting to read everyone's responses, it seems preferring a regular cuddle buddy is more common that I originally thought, if not the norm (even if it doesn't always work out in practice). I definitely agree on the safety perspective of not needing to continuously vet new people being a significant benefit, plus you get more comfortable with each other.

    @cde123 Thanks for the tip!

  • I’m open to both newbies as well as repeat clients, but there would definitely be a level of comfort built with repeat clients. 🤗

  • I'm been fortunate to find a regular cuddle buddy. We've been cuddling for about a year and a half. It's so nice to feel safe and like I can be myself with him, and vice versa. We don't have to ask what each other likes, or what our boundaries are. We just cuddle, and catch up on each other's lives while doing so. We've become great friends. I do still cuddle other people here and there, and I do like getting to know new people. But there's just something different about having a trusted cuddle partner. I'm very grateful. ❤️

  • I absolutely prefer ongoing..I want a friendship where they go. " I wish so and so was here to share this moment, I wish I was in their arms" . I want to be their person..and vice versa 🙂

  • Sometimes many of you wonder if I have a brain that functions---I have posted topics around this subject---what makes CC so unique if that it is a different kind of business---CC is a service --but I truly believe both parties thrive in the right cuddling relationship------CC is not a dating site---if its was--it would lose its uniqueness.---I view a cuddling relation as a good friendship when in the right relationship------CC is more than just a business arrangement given the intimacy of a genuine warm hug. I view experiences as memorable for life--therefore only one at a time!

  • I like having an ongoing buddy, also 2 different Cuddlers who I have repeat sessions with, just for variety, I’ve been fortunate to find that here.

  • As a non pro i think it's odd to spread yourself around too thin. In the idea of finding the one that fits is a task, I'm sure, it should be in the pursuit of that. I'd assume pros feel the same way unless they are going for market share.
