What am I doing wrong?

  • @TxTom I am beginning to think the same so yes. Good luck to you too.

  • It pretty much applies everywhere. Not just dating sites

    Your in the UK Govna!
Lol I really dont know if that's why. Just wanted to do a british accent on the forum.
    Those numbers sound normal though.

  • @WriterGF Yeah thanks for that info. I didn't know that. Yeah I just find paying for cuddles a wierd concept

  • @starrynitecuds Hey how are you doing? Ha! No I don't do that but I do reply to everyone who takes the time to write to me if their message is intersting. I don't just mean on this site, I mean in general. I am a happy soul who like to please and people deserve responses. I have never heard of anyone getting hostile if they receive a polite decline. Wow that is a bit over the top. I can see the issue there. But if a Pro contacts me asking for business I am always honest, normally saying they are too expensive :)

  • @TheFunCartel Hi, thanks for your message. I really thought this site was a bit different to what it is. Yes I have met one great cuddle partner but I was hoping for more. I am not socially awkward and have other reasons why I want cuddles. I thought with my outgoing nature and my prose I would get more replies than I do but to no avail. I am glad you are enjoying the site

  • @niceman99 - Yeah someone who understands my pain! Good luck hope you get someone soon.

  • I fond that by taking the time to read a profile thoroughly and to comment positively about something within it---your chances of some type of response are greater-----its amazing where simply being nice, genuine, compassionate will take you. Conversely, as a man creating a profile where you only expose part of your body because you think you are some how more special than others or by being superior, rude in your responses is likely to results in crickets when waiting for replies

@ScroogeMcducky :) - Are us Brits so rare on here that you had to do a bad accent?! :)

  • @JSP_1 I am heavily involded in the London Punk scene and there no one cares what you look like. As long as you are into the music thats all that matters. I have made many female friends from the scene

  • @dennis22554 - Hi, yeah I am a web designer but also do creative writing on the side. My messages to cuddlers are always engaging and polite, at least I hope so. Even so it hasn't got me very far. Each response can take me 20 or 30 minutes so it's quite the waste of time.

Oh there is an editing facility on this site if you make a typo. You don't have create a new subject.

The person giving you a massage is likely not going to get in bed and put her arms around you for a couple hours. Apples and oranges.

  • @WriterGF No but a massage therapist has been to college for 2 years. My point was a cuddler only has soft skills and that being the case I can't see why they charge so much. I think British cuddlers charge more than US ones. Average here is £100 per hour which is $130

  • What's the main point of this thread?

It began with the OP being irked by a lack of responses, but seems to have morphed into complaining about Pro rates.

@TxTom. - Easy answer to that one. It was suggested that I stop messaging non pros and start messaging pros. I said I didn't want to because they were too expensive and that I didn't agree with paying for a cuddle. I hope that clears things up for you. I originally wanted advice on how to get a better response rate but all I got was. "Think yourself lucky you got one, if you want more, contact pros". This thread has made me smile a lot though. More than I can say about the people contributing :)

  • @cuddlyDavid - Pro cuddlers are putting themselves at great risk. They are inviting you to their home or going over to yours. If they haven't met you before, they don't know what your intentions are. Massage therapists work in an office setting.

  • @Mike403. Hi, how are you doing? I have a mobile massage therapist who comes to my flat (aprtment). No massage therapist in England works in a office environment

Pros charge what the market will bear. If a pro is charging, say, $100 an hour and getting no business, she will likely lower her price. If she's not doing that, it means she's getting clients and has no need to. You said you are in a major metropolitan area, so yes, prices are going to be high there. (The average around me is probably $100 an hour, but I am in the suburbs - I have seen cuddlers in New York City and Los Angeles charging way more.)

  • From forums I have read before yes that's normal. I have read worse ratios actually. Can't give views in my own experience as I hardly message anyone.

  • @writerGF - yeah that makes sense. Personally I think the concept of paying for a cuddle really strange. But that's me all over :) Strange :)

  • @sg89 - Thanks for you reply. Yeah I thought I was doing something wrong but it seems it's the norm to be ignored on this site.

  • I talk to some people without a pic but if they don't send a pic at some point I generally stop talking to them. I want friendships and someone that won't send a pic after getting to know me comes across as not wanting to be a friend.

  • @achetocuddle - yeah that makes sense although some people are scared of the internet. The one person I have cuddled and become a friend with refused to send a pic. She had to recognise me when I picked her up from the station! Turned out she was lovely though

  • I just want to reiterate something that was said here earlier: enthusiasts that are women can get an overwhelming amount of messages. I believe @WriterGF used an example of one getting 250 when being away for one weekend (two days)! If anyone is getting that many messages, it would be a huge task to even read them all.

Imagine if you were getting over 100 messages a day. Can you understand why someone receiving that would not read and/or reply to all of them? I understand it feels bad or rude to not get a response. Seeing it from the other person's perspective can help make sense of how people act, especially if it very different from our own experience.

  • @kindTony - I don't think Brits get that many tbh. The one enthusiast cuddler I have met is able to reply to all of the messages she gets but I get your point. I didn't realise it was quite that popular. Reading all the messages on here I have decided not to try any more. I am in contact with one lovely cuddler (Non Pro) and have regular cuddles. I am going to stick with her and not try for any more.

@cuddlyDavid youre doing great! Would love to have some tea in England (not boba) and some Jammie Dodgers! Keep carrying on and don’t mind the negative comments

  • @lonelytauros - hahaha that made me smile. I'll put the kettle on and brew you up a mug of builders tea! I haven't had Jammy Dodgers for years must get some tomorrow! What is your view on Marmite?

  • [Deleted User]GordonBrody (deleted user)

Announcing that you are entitled to at least one response is probably not going to make it easier to get a response. No one here owes anybody anything.

  • @GordonBrody - thank you for your input. I am not sure I mentioned anything about entitlement. I just said it was good manners to reply. I was genuinely surprised how little response I received. I was just asking for advice Thats all. Have a lovely evening.
