Kola Bear Hugs

I ran across a professional that described her hugs as being koala Bear like I love originality and thought the comparison was very unique providing a very visual picture. I know who I would like to receive a Koala Bear hug from! What animal comparison would you use to describe your hugs?

  • You know ... I wouldn't have considered a koala. But thinking about it, that is probably an accurate animal. If I had to choose a different animal .... sloth maybe?

I would go with a bear, but not a koala. Arms are to short. My hugs are more grizzly or black bear - more all encompassing. I've been told on numerous occasions how easy it is for the individual to feel my hugs and get lost in them. I appreciate that.

  • Chimpanzee lol

  • I appreciate v iate responses to this point

.they all provide a colorful visual imagery

  • Being a koala is my thing with my boyfriend, so I'm fully with that concept, but I reserve koalaing for just him. πŸ˜‹πŸ¨

For my cuddle friends...I'm an otter! 🦦 Snuggly, cozy, and drapes all over you like a slinky ferret, but fluffier. πŸ˜„

  • @SunsetSnuggles ... you've convinced me ... I want to be an otter now. I think I still might be more sloth though

  • I think I have the koalafications for the one thing, if I can't be the otter thing.

  • I have petted a koala. They are cute and docile but I don’t think I would want one hugging me due to their claws.

  • I’m not sure. If I only had a nickname that would help me decide.

  • Meerkats look like they give good hugs. I’m short like them too lol

Are kola bears caffeinated or non? Flavors ?

  • I would be happy with a meerkat hug

  • Koalas are NOT bears, fyi. They are marsupials.

I lived several years in Australia and this point was drilled home. In fact, in school Aussie kids learn Koalas are not bears because they do not have the right koala-fications. πŸ™‚

But seriously, they are not bears. Really.

  • I’ve always liked lemurs.

πŸ˜… They really don't look a darn thing like bears, honestly... Besides the obviously massive size difference, their snouts are not even remotely similar, or their ear proportions.

And of course, the skulls are very telling.

Even the world's smallest bear, the Sun Bear, clearly resembles the real bear, not the koala.

...All that super fun research aside though, I think "koala bear" sounds adorable, like kitty cat, puppy dog, and bunny rabbit. 🐱🐢🐰 Difference being, those last three are all accurate to the animal. πŸ˜†

Completely unrelated rabbit trail question… are pandas bears? I could look it up… but nah.

Changed my mind and looked it up anyway. Turns out they are bears. πŸ˜€

  • @lovingspoonfull, I immediately thought of Panda too ! I recently saw sometjing about a baby panda that was adopted by a human after cruelty from it's mother. It was incredible to see how affectionate and cuddly it was. I'd probably still too scared to get close to a one IRL but was lovely to watch how affectionate it was & seemed to be flourishing.

  • @4cuddles i saw one the the early exhibits at the San Diego zoo, think it was when one of the first SD births was allowed to be in the exhibit.

Something about pandas is just really engrossing. They seem gentle but yeah. Bear. The idea of a cuddle is nice. Especially a cub as you say. πŸ˜€

  • @lovingspoonfull Would have loved to see that. Think for the cuddle, I'd have to settle for a Panda Teddy bear though. I'd be too anxious a real panda even a cub could become aggressive at any point even playfully.

  • @4cuddles i think I’d risk a cub. But not with momma hanging around. 😎

But here’s a smaller (maybe safer?) alternative. Red pandas are interesting too. And not bears.

  • And this is why we choose the bear

  • It's quite the cliche on this site but definitely bear for me. If you reference my karma notes, you'll notice a recurring theme of my love of firm hugs

  • @lovingspoonfull awww they look so cuddly and cosy. I might actually consider after you do and they don't turn on you! :)
