@Jubal lol I could ask you the same question. I suspect you assume i was joking since its not the first pearl of wisdom i graced you people with and you kinda know me by now. Odds are (slightly better than a coin toss,) that we were both joking.
@Sooson 911 auto dial would be a great feature. It comes with a warning:
REMAIN CALM AND STAY WHERE YOU ARE.
THE AUTHORITIES ARE ON THEIR WAY.
It’s strange that people who have blocked someone can still be seen by them. In my mind, if you block someone for whatever reason they should not be able to see your profile, your comments, or anything else about you from then onward. They should not even be able to see that you’ve blocked them at all. It’s a privacy as well as public safety matter.
@SeekerInVA That suggestion probably should go in the Ways to Improve This Site thread. Hasn't changed yet, probably not going to either.
Just don’t read, don’t look or focus at all on a comment written by someone you’ve blocked. It’s very easy for me, don’t know if it is for anyone else. There are a very few people here who I will read because I respect them and am interested in what they have to say. But if they’ve tagged me and said something rude, then I no longer read. I just don’t read even one word from certain contributors to the forum because I know it will be a useless sarcastic joke that adds no value for me. And I would hope mine would be ignored also by anyone who doesn’t like my comments. So much better to know that no one is offended - because they didn’t read it.
@SeekerInVA @starrynitecuds The issue with that is that it may make it impossible to follow and understand conversations.
@4cuddles yes that’s tagging
@Sooson But if you are doing as g_w_t_w suggests, as many do, and skipping over people whose posts you dislike, you are also only getting half the conversation. So not sure it would be that big of a difference if you couldn't see their posts at all. It doesn't seem to hurt things on LinkedIn any and it eliminates this whole "Oh, he tagged me when he said he didn't want to talk to me" nonsense.
You can’t control what other people write. You can control what you read.
What if I am wrong
I'm always of the opinion that I could be wrong about most things. This helps me grow. Try saying this multiple times...it frees you. And it sets up the vibration for growth.
Blocking for safety is understood and needed.
But to create a clique atmosphere on a site designed to bring people together shows where we are in our growth journey.
And any person no matter who you are, the color of your skin, gender, blocked not blocked if you like or hate me, it doesn't matter...you are always welcome to converse, I hold no baggage.
There is a lot of emotion around blocking or being blocked. I'm surprised. I've been blocked, no idea why. I think I've blocked a few people, i don't know what It did besides them not messaging me. But for the most part i probably wouldn't take the time to block someone i didn't like in the forums. That's too much energy for me to spend. I guess i can understand how tagging can be considered harassment but if i was really trying to get under someone's skin im sure i could do it without even mentioning them.
But i do get blocking for screening purposes. If it keeps them from showing up in my search and other things i guess it be useful. It seems as though the internet has become a real place for some people, i don't think it is.
I just checked i have blocked one person years ago, we actually blocked each other. I'd like to apologize public to that person for what ever caused you to block me, I'm sure there was no reason for us to even speak anyway. Be blessed @m.... lol
I have only blocked one person. A random guy wanting to have a conversation off-site; he got really pushy with it. I was sensing a bad actor type vibe.
@GuyverGordon i use to get a lot of guys asking me about cuddles I've interacted with, or we're friends with or cuddled. I realized, well it was obvious they were fishing for information of the non platonic type so i disengaged. I think i made it clear in my responses. Maybe that's the guy i blocked but i dont remember. I guess i would block someone to continuously message me if i didnt want to engage.
@ReltvlyCanshes You would think that your profile would already give them the answer. But I guess that requires reading. And then, there are the malignant types ...
For the one that I blocked, he messaged a few times about the same thing (off-site communication) which resulted in me blocking him. If it was just a one-time ask, I would have just left it alone.
@Dance_Culture
That was an extremely thoughtful and well written sentiment. Something ALL of us should allow ourselves to think if we have the courage to challenge our current belief systems.
Those four words can make all the difference when entering any discussion with anyone at anytime.
If we don't consider those words- We are never really hearing any other points of view- we are just waiting for the other person to stop talking so we can show them we are right.
Put it on a bumper sticker.
What if I am wrong?
I was blocked by a cuddler several years ago. She wanted $300.00 for a one hour of cuddle. I simply asked why she changed so much when the going rate was $100.00. She blocked me, about a week later her profile was gone. Always wondered why, lol.
Odds are (slightly better than a coin toss,) that we were both joking.
@Sooson You guessed right on that particular coin toss!
@softncuddles Silly reason to block you, but there also really isn't a "going rate." Rates vary wildly depending on geographic area, it seems. $100 is the average where I am, but if I look in New York City or L.A., the prices are higher.
@lovingspoonfull thankyou. I started to question if it meant something different here.
@BrianOcean
A very vulnerable place to put yourself in..you said it..those words have never been uttered by anyone IRL I've ever known.
Why? Just the vibe it puts out makes you grander IMO. I'm not kidding. Imagine a room full of people that want nothing more from you than than your kind spirit. A room that can leave all baggage at the keyboard and express only love. It's a dream. It's my dream.
The genuine gesture of inclusion and faith follows a statement like, "What if I'm wrong." There's a scene at the end of Bruce Almighty, where Bruce extends his hand to Evan... the expression and posture communicates just pure welcome, strength and humility.
It is a moment in that film that I believe illustrates the contentment and peace we all want.
Even if we don't know it yet.
@WriterGF The site touts $80 for hiring a Pro. No disclaimers, like "as low as" or "prices may vary." https://www.cuddlecomfort.com/professional-cuddlers
Well that's the going rate now. I didn't realize it said that. All of the discussion should be over on that topic now.
If you click on the link, scroll down and expand the question how much does a pro cost, it says this
@Adragayle Thank you for showing that the site states $80/hr in multiple places, "Typically, you'll pay around $80/hr for a professional cuddler." That's describing a standard rate.
I've seen as low as $60 but yeah $100 is the norm around me.
