There appears to be no answer. Never has been. Likely never will be.
Let’s talk about make aggression in terms of a spectrum, much like learning abilities, body traits, gender expression, etc.
There will ALWAYS be aggressive humans, of more or less even proportions along gender/sex lines.
Terrible males express aggression through violence and dominance. And, of course, as sexual violence and aggression as well. And for those males who are wired to be more aggressive it is about beginning their conditioning in controlling their impulses VERY early.
Those who never received that conditioning, or didn’t receive it soon enough, always cause damage.
And, during this particular cultural swing, not only are boys being punished for these utterly natural traits, but they are being shamed for those impulses. Which, of course, means that more boys avoid help, and their families refuse to acknowledge their aggressive traits, and that conditioning never finds them.
And they cause damage.
I was lucky. I was born into a family that had been werewolves from way back in the family tree. And I am grateful. If not for the conditioning, the acceptance, and the support of my family is the reason I have self control. How I learned to control my aggression and not let it control me.
But human aggression is a natural thing.
It will never go away.
And it is why trust building in relationships is so crucial, because the terrible people look just like the good people.
Not to take away from the seriousness of the subject but would a bucket of ice water by the bed get the message across..or a cattle prodj

@IronLemon Yes or mace, or bear spray? Apparently they’re legal for self defense in most or all of the US. I still would always feel safer in my own home where I can control the situation and have the spray within reach under my bed. (fortunately I never had to use the pipe wrench!) I would not want to cuddle in a strange man’s home where he has who knows what planned.
