If you're not crying, then you're not human. #QuoteMeOnThat
I both cried & laughed during the same cuddle position. It's funny how quickly emotions can shift. For me it was that the tears just flowed out with the conversation. My cuddle partner was always positive & affirming which helped alleviate the emotion. We did discuss the possibility of tears ahead of time so it was not a surprise when it did happen.
Tears are human... I held many, many people at my own mom's funeral! She was an amazing person who'd touched the lives of many, many people.. Not to be morbid, just one view of the necessity of holding space for others when they're overwhelmed..
I would be deeply honored-----THIS IS JUST ME; NO COMMENT ON ANYONE ELSE---- if my Cuddler felt safe enough to let down his/her Life Armor, and shed tears. On the other hand, there are only certain energies that inspire, in me, the sense of protection, strength, and safety I'd need in order to even access that level of vulnerability. I feel for the unaddressed, unacknowledged splinters that some of my fellow human beings carry. If they were to feel safe enough, in my embrace, to release some of their burdens, I'd feel grateful and honored!
It happens naturally and unexpected from time to time. Usually when a tender topic is being deeply discussed
I would say it’s totally normal. I have a few friends who are massage therapists and they say it happens all the time with clients during a massage.
The body holds any feelings we haven't expressed and sometimes it releases them with physical contact.
I think it's pretty natural and not always predictable, but if you feel like it's a possibility then you should definitely negotiate/disclose it while you are planning with someone
@mauvefox ~ "The body holds any feelings we haven't expressed and sometimes it releases them with physical contact." Powerful!! Louise Hay's body of work, and that of (I'm going to tear this up, I know..) Bessell Vander Kolk's book, "The Body Keeps the Score" back you up on this very thing..
@KristiCOS ~ Thank you for the reminder of checking for consent beforehand. Raw emotion can be almost frightening, and if someone isn't prepared to hold space for it, that could be traumatizing. Excellent reminder!!
Absolutely! I’ve had clients cry in my arms. We need to be gentle n kind to each other.
Crying is absolutely always okay!! 😢 a lot of emotions can swell when you don't feel like you're being treated the way you want to be treated. I came into this line of work knowing that crying may happen because I have such a special embrace it draws whatever you've been holding in out. I love being the one to console people's emotions 😌✨️
I’ve had multiple cuddle buddies completely let it all out and I just held them tightly with my pressure cuddle hug. 🫂 🤗 🥹🥰💗 Makes me feel good because they trust me and feel that comfortable. 🫶🏼
@Jillybear87 “pressure cuddle hug” sounds like an awesome super power from a Saturday morning cartoon character. Especially one that you join together with other cuddle super heroes. I love it!
