Today for me, marks one year sober 🥳
Congrats. That's pretty awesome 🤘@Morpheus
I won a statewide Japanese speaking contest when I was in middle school. So when my movie critic cousin likes to boast about his red carpet events - I get him back with the I've been googable before you 🤣😂 Gets him mad every time
Yesterday I wrote a multi-user personal RSS feed reader in PHP, MySQL, Bootstrap, and Jquery, it was a lot of fun!!
I figured it's finally time to post about it this....🤗📣
I finished my bachelor's in Psychology last May ('24) and am now FINALLY at the halfway point of my ...really long and heavy... Master's degree program to be a therapist! 🥳
All while being a full-time single parent to 3 kiddos and full-time caregiver to my super cool 😎 youngest with special needs!! And, of course, being a cuddle pro extraordinare ✨💅🦊 (I gave myself that title LOL 👑)
@RedFox16 Kudos 👏🏼 that's awesome! What an accomplishment to be proud of! Congrats🎉 🥳
@RedFox16 You are for sure a cuddler extraordinare and you will be a great therapist.
@RedFox16 hats off to you.
This past weekend I made it out of the house without the accountability of meeting up with someone. Which really helps with my depression.
Thank you @Bear ☺️🤗 and hats off to you as well! Leaving the house is so hard sometimes 🫂
I'll tell my professors you said that @gem7 😏 and thank you for your kind words 😌🙂↕️
@MTex I appreciate the congratulations so much! 🙏💛 It's always been hard for me to toot my own horn 📯, so hearing kind words from others really means a lot. 🫶
@RedFox16 Congratulations
Congratulations @RedFox16 ! That’s an amazing achievement in addition to being a super mom too.
@RedFox16 I wish I celebrated my Masters degree more but I was so driven at the time scouting, testing and applying for PhD programs that I didn’t savor it. I wish I had as the amount of work and research required as well as internships and teaching freshman classes created 12-14 hour days and a lack of understanding what weekends should be about.
Got my annual blood work results and my cholesterol has improved with LDLs, VLDLs and triglycerides going on a downward trajectory and HDLs on an upward trajectory. Still have a ways to go but I’m doing something right it looks like.
32 years ago this month I carried the Olympic Torch on the 4th of July in my hometown
Congrats @RedFox16 that’s a great accomplishment. I strongly believe in education. I teach college part time and genuinely enjoy it.
@RedFox16 Congrats! I know grad school is a ton of work but you’ll get through it!
two good ones today:
1) I have successfully eliminated over 25 pounds of excess body weight, getting under 225 pounds for the first time in probably a decade. This is through repeated fasting 2 days per week since March and increased running as I train for 3 half-marathons in the fall.
2) I completed some revisions of a short story and submitted it. It's one that has been rejected dozens of times; I believe the feedback I got direcgted this recent round of revision which has made it better.
I made it to work despite bad mental health! And a headache! And walked around in my security uniform when it’s hot out
I got out of bed and faced the day today. Was able to finish my laundry, and put a clean sheets on my bed. It may not sound like much, but that's my biggest win in a while.
@Razvan42 I'm so happy for you! Getting into bed with clean sheets is a wonderful feeling. 💃
This week for the first time I moderated a session during an international conference, which happens every 3 years - to me the conference is the Olympics of my field of work.
I finally got to present my paper at a conference ☺️
I've been working on my OrcID profile since forever, my faculty were a little reluctant to help with publicity but I finally got my big break and it felt so fulfilling. ☺️☺️
@MTex It really is! It's like Factory reset. The human equivalent of turning it off and turning it back on again! 🤣
I got through the day
I recently completed my 9th blood donation. Can't reach the big 10 until the 4th of October but I'm hyped tbh.
Just finished a 12 hour shift..
@Gracious Good for you, I know how that feels - congrats!
Got a job. Its nothing special but it's my first time working outside of my house since Covid. I have been struggling with some pretty bad anxiety and finally started working this week. Its pretty good for me, I don't have any co workers and it's not too busy. Its walking distance as well. Pretty good start.
@ladybug7 Congratulations! I hope this is only the first step toward better things for you.
@StephanJ congratulations and thanks for sharing!
I’m on a similar journey. I’m down 27 lbs, mostly due to getting serious about exercise, food quantity (I’ve always eaten healthy - just too much), and intermittent fasting.
Many days tougher than others but the improvements are worth it.
