Why is Pro/paid for even an option on here?

@mauvefox Much appreciated. 🙂My basic thought to the situation was simply, we as customers (mainly men on the site), who are we to make demands or persuasions of what the seller is supplying to us? Naturally I'd assume that mostly men (including myself) are seeking warm hugs and social time with the ladies here much more than the other way around so it's definitely a sellers market here.

This isn't to say that I don't understand the grievances of some of the fellas here begrudging high prices or price hikes as a whole because that's annoyance to many in any subject, but inflation is a part of life and me complaining about "Their rates are too damn high!" amounts to absolutely nothing. I live in NYC so I expect various things being on the higher end of the monetary scale, but for something such as hugs and brief companionship, as delightful as that is, isn't a necessity, but a luxury. Consideration also has to be held in account for the ladies who are pros here because they have the double edged sword of having a modest to substantial profit here as well as feeling comfortable with who is paying for their service.

  • @idontknoww and @consciousseeker
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences. They’re beautiful.

And @consciousseeker, especially that you came in with an opinion but were willing to listen and really hear the experiences of others with openness. It’s a beautiful thing.

  • I'm only here for @TheFunCartel commentary.

Still processing the comparison between volunteering at a food bank to inviting a stranger, alone, into my home, my bed, and to touch me... Perhaps one of the patrons of said food bank would be happy to snuggle you because they'd be helping out a fellow human being. Seems like a win win situation to me.

  • @All_the_snuggs I'm choking 😂😂🤌

  • lol read 1984 to see how this goes in a country without capitalism.

  • @All_the_snuggs
Made me laugh out loud in the middle of the night. 🤣
Yeah. A super weird comparison. For sure.

@CuddleDuncan interesting post with all the hyperlinks to other forum threads but the one called "Ten things your professional cuddler wants you to know" doesn't work 🙁

  • @TheMidnightOwl Yeah, read a book or just look at the world to see how it goes with capitalism.

  • As a seasoned professional cuddler here, I have done a lot of free cuddles. The problem is when there's no transaction their feelings become involved and they think that your affection means you want them sexually or are at least interested in them sexually. They also tend to treat CC as a dating site, which again is a no-no.

Unfortunately, keeping things transactional, keeps people honest and also keeps them from wasting your time. Usually.

I have quite a few clients that I cuddle with for free or for a very reduced rate, because I understand their financial situation. However, there are a lot of men on here that try to misconstrue it being a transactional service to them getting some sexual service.

This is a very tricky business. As much as I love people and love, offering my services, it's very easy to be taken advantage of.

Besides, time exchanged for money is work and cuddling strangers no matter how you spin it is work. There is a lot of work that goes into actually getting to the Cuddle! So when people see the hourly rate, there's usually been a lot of communication that has happened ahead of the time you get paid. At least for me.

I have also talked to several enthusiast who wanted to cuddle just because they thought that it was a good idea, then ended up going pro because of people that abuse their time.

There's really no right or wrong way, as someone will always be angry that they want something they simply can't afford.

@mccuddleman I don't agree with your generalizations, but I agree with the point you tried to make.

And indeed, there are people on the forums looking for anything malicious in men. But when a woman in this thread says "I utilized pros", there's no calling out. Well done on staying calm and civil under the provocations 👍

  • I agree. the About Us is... not accurate. That should be changed.

Many reasons why pros are on here. There wouldn't be as many women on this site without them.. and far less people would be cuddling. The site makes money to stay afloat with pros paying into it.

I am considering a career change lately as some weeks are quite draining. I hold people all week in various states of distress/venting/processing when I want to be moving, dancing, wrestling, biking, stretching.

At the same time, I'm good at the care aspect. It's easy for me to feel compassionate, to love people as if they were my own family. I feel purposeful holding space for people, and what I make here pays the mortgage to house a single mom. What it does not often feel is reciprocal.

Would I be here for free? I would not. If money wasn't a factor in this site, in my life, in the world, in America: I'd be serving my community, mentoring children, and growing food in a garden. Believe me it is not my dream in life to charge anyone to get basic needs met.

I dream of villages of reciprocal care. There hasn't been many men I want to build the village with, but there are some. I notice my communities are mostly women. Take that for what you will.

I'm OFF TOPIC but I quit social media two weeks ago so y'all are now my social media outlet, enjoy :dizzy:

Website rhetoric is for advertising purposes and is not intended to be taken literally.

@BlueIris sincere, serious question then. If its for advertising, then why wouldnt the cited statement be considered false advertising (or bait & switch, or "puffing", or deceptive trade practices, etc)?

  • @Jubal

The website connects users who both express interest in cuddling, similar to matching on a dating app. The promise is of the opportunity to find a cuddle (at any time that works with the agreed parties) for free (amongst enthusiasts)- not a guarantee that any given user will agree to it.

"Free" in this context usually means no money is exchanged for the act of cuddling itself (again in the case of enthusiasts), rather than a promise of guaranteed, effortless intimacy.

Even if a user requests a cuddle, the recipient (pros or enthusiasts) holds the "power of choice" to accept or reject, as coercing anyone into physical acts would be illegal as no one here is employed by CC, and therefore is not bound to do anything.

Social apps and website function as platforms to facilitate meetings. Just as a dating app promises to help you "find love" for free (in the case of non-subscription apps) but cannot guarantee it, a cuddle website (that has no onboarding fees such as this one) promises to connect you with potential cuddlers, not necessarily to ensure a successful session.

Courts distinguish between actionable objective claims (e.g., "This app guarantees a physical meeting within 5 minutes") and non-actionable puffery (e.g., "Get a cuddle whenever you want"). A reasonable user understands that a free app cannot guarantee the immediate availability of a person for a physical act.

Such apps and websites also often have terms of service detailing that user availability varies, which mitigates deception.

    @Krisha

Most of the complaints about capitalism are actually not referring to free market capitalism but corporatism. These are not the same things. Capitalism gives options. Options are good. In a society like that in the book 1984, the antithesis to capitalism, human contact was punishable much less even an option to pay for as a service.

  • I wouldn't even feel safe cuddling the op. The entitlement he thinks he has here is unreal. It's a huge red flag that you think women/society owes you something. You're not entitled to anyone's time/energy/cuddles just because you exist, as harsh of a reality as that may be.

  • @SleepySheep1
What a perfect explanation. So well said.
    Thank you.

  • I’ve been reading this on and off. The OP has deleted his account. I’ve been here almost since the inception of the site. I’m glad it’s here in all of its variations.

As with anything I can choose to not participate with a professional. It’s very hard to find an enthusiast because of a lot of the trauma that’s been fostered upon them by other enthusiast or by people in everyday life.

Being that I do healing work and even before, I knew that I’ve always had people come up to me and talk and vent and have heard a lot of stories. If I didn’t want to, I’d walk away, which is my choice.

As for another comment. Freedom of speech relates to not being restricted by the government and what you wish to say or vent or give opinion too. It does not pertain to the regular citizen. From that mistaken, the bill of rights centers upon what you have the right to without the government interfering. A lot of people seem to use this right as a shield to trauma dump on others. Or to see what they think is right. Everything here is mostly an opinion in Thursdays, the age of saying about that.

When the last of my immediate family passed away in 2023, I was glad that there were professionals because I was very lonely, physically and emotionally at that point. Hiring a professional really helped me a lot. And I got to see the ones that really truly care as well as those who treat people like ATM Machine. There’s no one‘s fault for that because that’s the way of life and you could choose to say something or not.

The site is very low maintenance and I don’t expect a lot from it. People complain about safety and such which shouldn’t happen but they do as well as other things. If it’s not safe, go elsewhere. I know there’s a professional form with only professionals. Tell those people who to go with and who to not.

I’m glad I read this titled subject because I’ve met at least one awesome person from it. Just by reading what they said. As I have with other forum posts on here.

My normal reply to the original post is if you don’t like it, change your channel or leave and they deleted their account. There are bad apples everywhere once you find out after biting into one do you keep on eating it? Or do you get rid of it. What’s the definition of a crazy person doing the same thing over and over and expecting different outcomes.

Too much negativity in the world to espouse more of it. Especially in a site like this, that can be a beautiful getaway from the rest of the negativity in the world. Or in the country or in whatever place you happen to be reading from.

  • @RebeccaKe
Yeah. A lot of folks out themselves for their true selves in here. I wish more female enthusiasts knew to check the forums and search for the people messaging them so they can see what kind of interactions have been had.
It’s remarkable how little insight people have into how their words communicate to others who they are.

  • @Bear
Thank you for sharing your story here. It’s folks like you that help to create this as a safe space.

  • I would like to voice my discontent that the site is free. I feel like the site owes me since I come here and use it.

  • [Deleted User]cool_dude_ (deleted user)

Why did this become stuff like: women dont owe free cuddles, people are not obligated free cuddles, and you dont care about women's safety when it was about someone complaining that the about page didn't say that there were paid cuddles involved in the site

  • I don’t have a problem with pro cuddlers and pros should be able to charge whatever the market will bear. If prices are “too” high, that cuddler will not get customers. No one is entitled to someone’s time and energy.

I do find this statement and promise a little bit troubling.
"We created a platform so you can get a cuddle, whenever you want one, at no cost.”
This may have been the “intent" a decade or so ago, but I think is bit too misleading and irrelevant to that actual atmosphere of the site now. I actually think it could attract litigious activity from certain types of individuals. Just my opinion. I would definitely change it if I were a site admin.

  • [Deleted User]cool_dude_ (deleted user)

Don't think most of the stuff being said matters to the original complaint about wanting the site description to be edited/added to

  • @cool_dude_ Yeah I noticed that but it happens so often it is like putting your finger in a hole of Hoover Dam.

  • [Deleted User]cool_dude_ (deleted user)

@TheFunCartel yeah ik, its the main reason I dont try to speak in forums, it feels hostile even though no one is saying/doing anything directly mean most of the time, just a lot of randomly added subjects

  • @mauvefox Exactly. I get how much of a struggle loneliness can be. People need to recognize though that people can become desperate and even dangerous when they're on the absolute extreme end of that loneliness. It's human nature to need connection and touch, but, that doesn't mean any of us are ever entitled to a strangers time/energy/cuddles. I see both sides of it but at the same time, when someone is lonely enough, they'll do desperate things to get their needs meet. I empathize with their pain but we all need to keep ourselves safe. I've met men on here that scared me and gave me major stalker vibes because they hadn't been close to anyone in so long and wanted to cling on to me.

  • And to the people that are saying the op is just stating a simple fact, that it should be listed on the main page that this isn't a free site : No, he's not. And this is really obvious. Anyone who's intuitive can see right through this. His original posts reeks of control issues and entitlement. It wasn't a simple "edit the website" suggestion. It was frustration and venting because women aren't giving him what he wants for free.

  • Well there is another way to get free cuddles though you would still have to spend money on other things in order to get them. One could work on their own self, whether that’s personality, physical fitness or mental health and get everything working enough to get a girlfriend/bkufriend/partner then those cuddles would be free too. Though like I said you would need to go out on dates like dinner, movies, shows, museums, vacations etc. That’s generally what people would need to do to get cuddles if this or other cuddle sites didn’t exist. So for those that may be shy or for other reasons not have partners, we should be happy there’s sites like this that we have the option to pay for someone to cuddle with or if fortunate enough to find a fellow enthusiast. Speaking from a straight male POV because I cannot speak from anyone else’s POV.

  • @mauvefox you are most welcome. I appreciate you because I always have positive interactions with you. It’s always a pleasant hearing from you as well as reading what you have to say.

  • I'm just here for the poops jokes and whining
