@DarrenWalker While I have little use for the truly hateful troll types I agree that some trolls present an opportunity to laugh at them and at ourselves. Unfortunately, humor and fun is not tolerated by some stiff-necks among us. Maybe it’s just the stress of the holidays, but the forums haven’t held a lot of humor or fun the last few weeks.
@mickcuddle: [nod, nod] This time of year is pretty stressful. It was nice to be able to let off a little steam in a non-harmful, entertaining way by laughing at someone who expected instant free cuddles and was super ticked when he didn't get them.
Also the idea of me as a troll knight with pervy manga. That is some image. As an AFAB asexual who's commonly referred to as a Vulcan by those who know me in person, I find it hilarious. This thread was fun.

Unrelated but related since the title: I’d appreciate it if we could let “calling a spade a spade “ die as a phrase in the common vernacular. it’s one of those tiny rude things that flies under the radar to most people, but is annoying or downright painful to those it insults. Above is a rundown on the history and why it’s rude. Most of us have enough stress to deal with, without constantly having to deal with unintended micro aggressions.

@chococuddles None of the above. I just wouldn't like to see anybody bounced out of here, especially like the recent trolls. I would say that some folks stirring the pot right now are doing so on good terms. They're speaking stuff that still catches positive interest. Also, like @mickcuddle said, some trolls present laughing opportunities which are also appreciable. So, I guess it's just a fine line.

Ive seen this logic on another post: blaming the website for the users’ behaviors. CuddleComfort has provided a platform. They are not responsible for how we do or don’t use it. I feel like it’s best to accept the user experience for what it is. Platonic cuddling is not everyone’s cup of tea. Cudos to those of us who are willing to consider it. Oxytotos to those who take the leap and actually get some cuddles. ? It’s easier for some of us. But in our culture it seems like we might be in the minority.
I appreciate learning about history, but it is easier to learn and teach children how to not get offended than to eliminate all possible ways of getting offended. The latter is impossible. If I walked around life easily getting offended, I would be very grumpy most of the time. Easiest thing to do to live a happier existence is to learn this skill. Most people really have no intention of causing offense, so why give their actions so much of our energy? :-/ I typically only get offended when someone is directing something mean directly at me (ie - "you suck"). Disclaimer that I mean no offense by this comment O:-)

It's not a phrase I've used very often, nor do I hear it often. To me, context matters. Our society is much too concerned about political correctness, or the new terms micro aggression or triggered. I'd ban those both first.
I don't think she read the article she posted. It clearly states the phrase has nothing to do with anything racial. It's not a "micro aggression" it's a non-aggression.
