As someone who had to block
@brains4
due to abusive private messaging, I would have to agree with Mark.

I think it's pretty clear from the situation in Los Angeles (where many of the regular posters to this forum are located) that this site has become a place for women to promote themselves as professional cuddlers and make extra money. It's certainly not what I was looking for when I joined, but I find the community interesting which is why I'm hosting an event to try to bring people together.
I agree that it would be a nice to have some kind of vetting process for new pros and it would probably cut down on the "hooker" issues mentioned elsewhere because those people would be flagged as they work up to a certain amount of karma or whatever the requirement is. But I also don't expect Mark to invest a lot of time and effort trying to figure this out.
In general, I'm a big fan of cuddle awareness and this site is probably the best there is right now for people searching for platonic cuddle partners. Hopefully the community continues to grow and is not defined only by women who offer cuddles for money.

you didn't start anything, no need to apologize. Don't take the blame away from the ones who are truly the responsible parties.

I love the freedom and open platform of this site. This is why I chose to join this site over others. I think things will go downhill the moment you start worrying about micro managing another persons space. We have to understand & respect that people are here looking for many different things, so allowing freedom and diversity is very important. Invest your thoughts, time & energy into YOUR experience and allow others theirs. In doing so, you will attract those who are a match to you and others will do the same. In terms of training, there are a few programs out there, but it is a developing industry, so options are limited. I expect more will keep popping up. I like the idea of having the option to list training, experience & certifications if that sort of thing matters to you, but I don't believe it should be required. This is cuddling, not rocket science. It is innately natural. Let people decide what works best for them & do what works best for you! ♡

Though I saw that CuddleDingo stood up for me by acknowledging my
answers to his original post as just voicing my opinion (like he has),
one thing I noticed in his replies was that he considers my answers to
be "attacks". This is unfortunate (and makes me re-evaluate his sincerity), as it wasn't meant to be an attack -- just my opinion. I felt that some people (especially those who lashed out at
me), must have not fully understood, grasped, comprehended, reacted with past / personal experiences, or perhaps
even misread the genuine essence and big picture of what I was trying to
say. Please feel free to read it again, as I made sure I was very careful with how / what I said in my original post.
Call
me weird, but even though I'm NOT a Pro, and never even talked to a
Pro, I just couldn't let someone put them down or question the system
just because he wasn't connecting with more non-Pros who were "cute".
Even CuddleDingo doesn't deny it, and wrote in his response: "At no point did I ever disguise the fact that yes, I was being selfish
and looking for a way to create more Non-Pro cuddlers in Los Angeles."
My original response was to STAND UP for the Pros, not put CuddleDingo down.
Now for those who thought I was being rude for saying: "@cuddledingo As you know, I was willing to cuddle you (even though I didn't
necessarily find you "cute" [subjective]). But after reading your
"rant", I've had to reconsider."
Now please re-read what he wrote in his original post -- the post that sparked this entire conversation:
"Being
cute and owning a couch and/or bed doesn't auto qualify you for Pro
cuddling... Also kinda annoying that if you have a vagina you can sign
up and be a Pro..."
My Summary:
I purposely brought "cute" (the word HE used) in to the conversation to
point out that even though he was trying to put qualification
requirements for the Pros, I wasn't discriminating when I agreed to the idea of meeting him for a cuddle session. I've
cuddled people who were 30 years older than me, 10 years younger than
me, divorced, single, have kids, rich, poor, hairy, bald, smelly, those with disabilities, and even virgins. I am an extremely genuine, giving, and an
understanding person to begin with. So I try my best to channel, observe
actions vs. their words, and ultimately follow my intuition when
choosing a potential cuddle buddy based not only on physical appearance,
but mental, and emotional compatibility / demeanor as well -- ultimately, so that I am not taken advantage of.
Even
though CuddleDingo seems like a gentleman (and I still do think he is /
can turn it on or off), one of the things that really gets me running
for the hills are people who are inconsistent or untruthful (big or
small). Based on my observation and interactions with CuddleDingo, he has displayed both those
characteristics during our private chats / on his profile. So yes, even
though he gave me his number (which he failed to mention was given to me after I haven't heard from him in almost 3
weeks), then reading his post on this forum -- it's true, I've reconsidered cuddling him.
I work hard
(14-15 hour days / 70+ hour weeks), and as a NON-Pro who is on this site because I strongly
believe cuddling is good for the soul, I think I can choose who I
want to cuddle, respond to, and spend my time exchanging energies with.
P.S.
I will acknowledge that there were a couple people (men) that reached
out to me through private messaging after reading my original post. They
agreed with my opinion, and I was met with positive feedback -- thanks.
However, there was one bad apple in particular who's been harassing me, thinking I owe him my time and cuddle sessions because he throws the same compliments at me from time to time, then
insulting me, comparing me to a person I've never met, telling me to be
like them, and even goes far as to tell me who to cuddle... to THAT guy,
please stop messaging me.
I will not be reading / returning or contributing to this thread any further. I have no hard feelings. Good luck to all.

I don't get this girl. I try to be nice to her and she's still trying to attack me for absolutely no reason AND saying she's not attacking me while she does it! In BOTH posts all she does is try to belittle and discredit me and put words into my mouth that I never said, or at least twist them around. It's unwarranted and who knows why she randomly decided to hate me. She even uses quotes that don't support her opinions! Like when she says I'm only after more "cute" non pro cuddlers then offers a quote where I say nothing of the such... so yes, yes I believe I will call you weird.
The argument I presented was about making more Non Pro cuddlers, it had nothing to do with looks.
And how dense can someone be to not even see that I was speaking positively about the Pros that are here for good vibes and healing cuddles and trying to offer ways to protect them from the bad eggs who become instant pros? I even clarified that point in my reply. Ugh. Sociopaths remind me of my ex so I'm kinda glad now we never did meet.
Also I'd love to know what I said that was untruthful? I think she's just trying to discredit me in public but lacks any sort of facts. Yes, it's true we didn't talk for 3 weeks. I got back from the Holidays and saw she was out of town until the 11th so I said hey let's talk when you get back. She said sure. Life got busy and a few weeks later I apologized for not logging in sooner, which I didn't even have to since communication is a 2-way street and she made no effort to reach out, so I gave her my number and then never heard from her. Figured oh well, it wasn't that important to me to meet her and figured she was flaking. Not sure where any lies or untruths came into play?
Well... guess I'll never know because she said in italics that she's not coming back to this thread. Classy. Sounds like a person with no argument who just wants to create drama then disappear without responsibility or clarification. Good riddance. I'm not defending you a second time for spewing nonfactual stupidity in public at my expense.
I know you're going to read this thread still despite your lame italics so send me a private message if you'd wish to further discuss the fact that we were basically agreeing this whole time and you were too dense to see it.

Yeah, sorry. I'm a pretty positive level headed guy that always looks out for people so when someone makes it a point out of their day to twist my words into their own negative agenda not once, but twice in this case, then it kinda frustrates me. Lost a lot of friends when I left my ex for her doing the same thing... it's pointless and mean and selfish and it pushes my buttons when people can be so angry and insecure enough to try and hurt others. Why? It's pointless and directly opposite of what this site and the message it brings are about. Hugs, community, and positive vibes. Let's focus on that, people.
@Morpheus
I'm pretty forgiving so I'd totally cuddle her still, but despite however adorable or charming I can be (lol)... I really doubt she would see it or benefit from cuddling me or drop whatever random grudge she harbors (which I'm still not sure why).
Oh well. I still slept well last night despite this thread

@cuddledingo
If it makes you feel any better she did the same sort of thing to me. I had good conversation, was nice to her then gave her my number when she said she'd like to cuddle and then nothing for me either. I doubt she has cuddled with anyone on here cause nobody seems to be good enough for her. I was the bad apple she was talking about. She said I was harassing her because I sent her a message backing you up.

Although I appreciate people getting my back, in these cases it just leads to drama. Especially when you send private messages because you're not really held accountable in what you said. I'm not saying you were a jerk, but if you or anyone does that please don't do it on my behalf because I don't want to be a jerk by association
@Morpheus
She never replied, but after my first reply to her posting I used me and you as the olive branch story. If you remember, the first thing I ever posted or said on here was calling you a dick or something like that (haha). And now we're friends! Love you, man. I was hoping she would see past whatever differences we had, like we did, and just be friendly. I give people too much credit sometimes

@greenearth
Gotcha... and how was I a jerk exactly? I'm not the first to bring up the idea of training Pros before they're listed as Pro. I shared my opinions, got attacked by
@sweetxcuddles
for it, had words put into my mouth by her claiming that I was looking for "cute girls" even though she's the only one to ever make any appearance comments in this thread (negative toward me no less), I then apologized and tried to mend fences between us at the same time as telling everyone else to be nice to her, then got attacked once again by her for my efforts. So... am I the jerk because why? I have my guess what your motivation truly is, but I'd love an explanation as to why you think I'm a jerk. I'm like the most non-jerk guy ever :P
(Also the stupid funny part is that
@sweetxcuddles
lives either in my building or walking distance from it and would've been the most perfect cuddle if she wasn't so stubborn to see we were both arguing for the same thing and should be friends)

If you go back to the original comment in this thread, it talks about cuddlers becoming instant pros and asks if they should go through training or have a certain amount of karma first etc... One of my friends on the site saw a new pro today, it was her first session and he said she wasn't very good and was obviously uncomfortable. Maybe this instant pro thing is something worth looking into to see if a new pro is worthy of pro status. I'm not trying to be negative, I'm trying to be positive so that we can keep this cuddle movement growing. Thoughts?

If a pro isnt comfortable cuddling but still wants to be paid this kinda puts the client in an awkward situation. If a pro is new and not yet comfortable with cuddling strangers yet and wont be on par with the service provided by other pros, then you can't really rate them below 5 karma cause youll get bad karma as well. What a shame
