The best thing that all of us can do during this time is to take care of ourselves as best as we can. Limited the news viewing. Take up a hobby. Follow your local and federal guidelines. check-in on family members and friends if feasible and possible. Take up a hobby Get some self/home improvement projects to work on.

Unfortunately, too many won't make it through this, but we can not and must not put this weight on our shoulders. When we come out of this, there has to be a generous, honest look at what correct health care is. in order to handle these pandemics. Are hospitals equipped to handle these vast crises? Do we have enough trained knowledge, caring doctors, and nurses? We must not overload and burden the system, and we certainly can't force populations into isolation and inclusion I am so sorry, but we have allowed so much nonsense to go on for far too long, and we are paying a heavy price for it.

This is a good site if you are in the US and want to track the virus statistics for the entire country or individual states:
    https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/
Use this link to look at other countries:

  • Here is something chilling. This is from someone who sits on an ethics committee at a hospital. If you are put on a ventilator at some hospitals, you are are automatically put on a DNR too. This is strictly because there is a shortage of ventilators and this is one of the ways they are coping with the demand. Not all hospitals are doing this but many are.

  • @UKGuy, thank you for these links I heard about them last night but couldn't get to my computer. Stay safe!

In case someone misinterprets my previous comment... The OP asks about the effects of social distancing. As an avid extrovert, the isolation is unnerving, and I'm understanding the concept of cabin fever acutely. And I commented in my natural coping mechanism of humor. The OP did not ask if you think this is a serious matter. Which I do. 4 people dear to me are currently struggling with this, and the prognosis for two of them is not good. I personally think we need to go the way of some of the other countries and police our streets to keep people inside. Extreme? Maybe. Necessary? Maybe. But maybe it will drive home the point of how contagious and serious the matter is. At minimum, don't follow the guidelines for your own sake. Do it for the surrounding population who may not be able to cope with such an illness well.
