@Riverside77 Respectfully, then wouldn’t that mean we’re all corrupted? (Unless we live directly off the land.)

As for the overall discussion, if a person feels something then it’s real. Whether they paid for it or not, seems to be beside the point. But if you validate your feelings by looking for reciprocation from another, things become more complicated. I can see how you might hope an enthusiast got the same thing out of cuddling as you did. But it would be unrealistic to expect the same from a pro, that is not their role. And if you let your imagination get away from you, you’ll end up getting hurt.

  • Why only the 2 options?

I hear the argument as to the effect of money, but like for my first experience, I didn't know what to expect, what is allowed, how to conduct myself fully. Having a pro really helped. She went the extra mile and explained it all. Made me feel at ease & either way the first couple times we cuddle I'm not in search of the emotional. That will come if we develop a "cuddle relationship". I think she needed it as much as I did, plus I'm really cuddly, lol. I arranged for a 1 hour session & once we came out of our "cuddle coma" we realized it was 3 hours later.

  • @arghdaddy I'm really pleased that your first cuddle experience was so good, but be careful, emotionally. It's great that your pro was so kind and helpful, and that you had such a lovely cuddle, but the fact that she did not set a timer is a warning sign.

@CuddleDuncan I didn't even think about that. Thanks for that insight.

  • interesting voting results up until now ...

  • @cualtzin Can you expand on your first sentence? Are you saying anything we do for a paycheck is corrupting?

  • @Designergirl I believe @cualtzin was interpreting Riverside’s comment that money 100% corrupts the heart’s intent. @cualtzin then rejected that notion in his follow-up paragraph. So the answer would be no, that is not what he is saying at all.

The original Bible verse is often misremembered or misquoted, so here it is for reference. (My emphasis.)

    1 Timothy 6:10
    King James Version

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

  • I don't personally feel it lessens anything though if I did looking through some of the pros profiles, that guaranteed cuddle is still cheaper than most of my dates that MIGHT lead to cuddles... eventually sooo yeah no issues with pro cuddles here. Though I'd be picky as all hell (I hate blueberries ergo I am so not paying for a blueberry cheesecake lmao)

  • @CuddleDuncan That page is ripped out at the posher churches. And why are there gleaming golden churches if they hold that to be true?

  • @FunCartel ~ Perhaps their "god" has a touch of ADHD so they have to make their buildings ultra shiny/sparkly to draw attention from above...?

  • @FunCartel @quixotic_life
Nah your just confused about what they worship.

It's right there in green and grey! ;)

@FunCartel A 'gleaming golden church' can be thought of as a mechanism for pumping money from the wallets of the wealthy into the pay packets of the workers who mine the materials, construct the church and then maintain it.

And while I'm sure that that page is indeed ripped out at some posh churches, at many others it is the page they study most often.

  • @CuddleDuncan Too simplistic. I know people from poor to rich who understand the importance of money but their life does not revolve around money. Just another book condensed down to grade school level platitudes. The root of evil can be money, could be lust, alcohol, drugs, food, etc. Too much of anything has the potential to be the root of evil.

Two perspectives I have heard in the past ... first, “dishonesty is the root of evil” (and in my understanding dishonesty towards oneself is the first step) ... second, according to a fable most disputes are rooted in one form of wealth or another (land, money, resources...) ...in an attempt to bring the discussion back on track, hypothetically speaking, if there is a cuddler I know is only cuddling for money (to earn a living), but when cuddling i feel cared for and feel a healing energy, I think I would pay happily...
By the way: after 44 votes we are exactly fifty-fifty.

I think it depends on the person. It’s so hard to find chemistry. If you can find chemistry with someone you pay then that is wonderful. If they feel chemistry back towards you that is very rare. I choose not to receive payment for cuddling because I want to find chemistry. Connection is paramount for me. Everyone is different

@FunCartel: Ah, you didn't follow the link.

    @Blue54
I totally agree. Connection is important to me also. I enjoy conversation on mutiple subjects to get a feel for someone. I have found chemistry to be fairly easy when you have an open mind and not develop pre-determined thoughts.

I think @TouchSanctuary hit this one right on the nose. 💙

  • Interesting result ...

  • That seems to be a common misconception that paid cuddle sessions can’t be mutually enjoyable. I get paid to cuddle but I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t enjoy what I was doing. I often benefit from sessions as much as my clients. Cuddling is getting me through 2020 without having my brain explode from stress and anxiety.

  • Great post!!! Ive thought & wonder this many times before .... & there are sooo many amazing answers & insights ... glad I came across it

  • My money is on it not mattering at all.
I love working on cars, I've worked in a speed shop. Did the fact I was being paid change how much I enjoyed working on those vehicles? Well actually yes, it made it even better. Every one I've talked to that said they love their job said something similar. I dont see why cuddling would be any different.

100% yes, the value of the cuddle is lost. Cuddling is about connection and both parties wanting to hold the other. When one party is on the clock, this changes. I saw that someone wrote, “if you buy a cake...”. Then cuddle the cake and see how that feels. Comparing an inanimate object to a human being in front of you is ridiculous. I will feel great driving a brand new car. And getting a brand new phone it’s a lot of fun. But human connection cannot be bought. Period. Period. Period.

I do think there is value in the paid service. I think there are people, like myself, who are unable to get women to cuddle us. I am lacking the social skills and appearance to acquire female attention. So I must pay! I will take the pseudo connection. I will still have a lot of the pleasure of oxytocin, dopamine, and serotonin. But it would be nice for once if a woman would want to hold me if there wasn’t money in it for her.

That was me! As my point was not to "cuddle a cake" though, I'd like to invite you to read further on...

And I wish you the best on your future cuddle quests, 🙂
