  • @littermate ~ Great policies and advice!!! Especially:

"It's that gut sense that will help you screen on here. Trust it!! Err on the side of being unfair to them and totally care-full with yourself. You owe no one the benefit of the doubt or a cuddle."

And you don't need proof your instincts are right or need to have the ability to articulate why something seems off ~ Just follow them!!!

Seriously, I recently gave someone multiple benefits of the doubt, ignored all the little warning signs (rationalizing/making excuses for them, telling myself, "You're being ridiculous and over thinking things.") and worst of all, I didn't call it off even though I was freaking out about being there (way beyond my normal anxiety with meeting someone new), at that point it was no longer my gut being ignored, my whole body was in a full-on physiological reactive state just before we were to meet, and yet I still went through with it.

My reward for kicking my instincts to the curb? Finding out the hard way that all the alarms and buzzers were right! Things went wrong almost from the beginning, and continued throughout. I'm so embarrassed and feel so much regret for putting myself in a situation like that. The only positives are, it could have been so much worse and I now have a better appreciation for those signals and will be heeding them from here on out...

    ~ Without apology! ~

  • My favorite is when someone TELLS me to wear shorts, not even an ask.
I'm not a dress up doll, and I happen to love my yoga pants, thank you very much. 😤

  • Right? cuddles are supposed to be comfy for BOTH/ALL parties smdh. I really don't get some people.

  • Yes, i am learning to go with my gut more and more now especially with having a daughter.

  • @quixotic_life I strongly feel that as we trust our instincts, and err on the side of our whims, that the incidence of assault on women will go way down. The trick is to be unreasonable - in other words, "Why don't you want to hang out with me?" "BECAUSE." Or "Because I feel not to and I trust myself." End of story, end of discussion, and if you push me after I tell you that, you are violating my boundaries and proving to me that you don't have what it takes to hang out with me. My instincts are not material for anyone's logical assault and I don't have to explain, nor justify, nor satisfy your set of whatever-the-heck. You don't have to accept, believe or trust me. I trust me. No.
