If you could go back in time, to any time period / year / or era, where would you go? Or when lol ✈️

The 1 era I would choose hands down is the 70’s ... I wish to experience the 70’s ... I feel that anybody who experienced this era in their 20’s or 30’s ect are soo lucky as I feel the music was amazing / life enjoyment was soo interpersonal / no social media not too many distractions as far as technology entertainment but actual interpersonal relationships & bonds & I just think this era was soo cool! (Am I wrong for anyone who actually experienced it? 😅) Also the time period I would go back to is the age of the pyramids ... I would love to see with my own eyes how they were built ... to this day no one knows for sure despite all the best guesses, this to me is definitely a wonder , what about you?

    I will go to early part of the 20th century if I was white because it wasn't good for native people or African Americans or black was not a predatory Society it wasn't complicated there wasn't much as much competition and you could live a nice life crime-free basically and simple and nice and productive without a lot of the garbage we have to put up todayin society who was social interactions the Dignity of the person was respected and it wasn't the survival of fittest society which we have come to now
    The environment was cleaner and you could you eat healthfully we have better science tickets technology now but we seem to be always having to combat the environment to compensate for the damage that was done to it to be healthy

    As for me, no I wouldn't want to live in the past at all. The future yes probably, but not the other way around.

    Only because it's what popped into my head first... If I could also roll back my years, I'd like to stay as a long term guest in one the rooms above the Olson's shop so I could meet Nellie and Laura Ingles (and attend school with them too). Maybe Ma & Pa (Ingles) would come to realize I was a child living on my own, so they'd figure out a way to take me in and would raise me as their 4th daughter too.

    I would back it up just a little bit to the 90s I was born at the end and didn't get a chance to experience it fully. I love the minimal make up, the variety of skin tones, hair/body types and beauty in woman. Also the authenticity in fashion and art at that time, and the music and movies seem to have deeper concepts and was just better quality overall. Plus I can live without the social media era.

    Given a time machine I would go forward, as far as I could.

    @ChibiShema go to ancient Rome. They did care who your father was, but they didn't care about your skin colour.

    @introvme I was there, the 1970s, admittedly as a child. It was good if you liked being bored a lot and rubbish food. Music came on records, which were fragile and expensive. Telephone calls were also expensive, and were public to everybody you lived with. In other words, far more of the benefits of the 1970s are available to you now than they were then.... Sitting in your best friend's bedroom, listening to the same six records over and over again.

    @CuddleDuncan I've got a cast iron stomach lol and after Ebola there's not much short of the Black Death herself that concerns me for sicknesses in my chosen times, though Scurvy is a real possibility at sea that long back then.

    I would back to the 50's, the best music ever, the best looking cars, before bad drugs, mass killings. When family's would get together for Sunday dinner, drive in movies. I have a 1959 Ford conv., I would want to take it back with me.
    I'm a 6 VOLT guy living in a 12 VOLT world, LOL

    I’d go to Austria in the 1880’s, and find Adolf Hitler’s future parents on the day that they would meet, and make sure that I did something to change either of their plans so that they never got a chance to meet.

    Ah the 50s...back when women’s choices consisted of a vast array of housewife, teacher, nurse or secretary. And the drinking fountains had a color coding system. And the USSR and us were aching to end the world with a push of a button. Yes the 50s were great for white guys with blinders on.

    I will take a year or two outside of 2016-2020 and be happy.

    @FunCartel , WOW, I guess I missed most of that, I guess it all depends where you lived-??, and how you were raised, I never seen color coded anything and I sure didn't have blinders on !!!! And how does one make a racial issue out of a simple question as this one. If one goes thru life with a chip on there shoulder then they will find trouble or it will find them !!!

    @waynewv I was pointing out the facts of the 50s. It was great if you were male and white. So in your view the Civil Rights and Women’s movements in the 60s were much ado about nothing? I lived all over the US growing up to answer your question. This is not hate or a chip on a shoulder, it is called history. You do know that in a great deal of the country in the 50s there were white only restrooms and water fountains? That there were still large swaths of areas with no services for Native Americans and African-Americans? I am merely saying that pretty much the only people who would choose anything pre-2000 in the US would be white guys.

    I never had trouble because I was white. But back in the day military families in a lot of places who lived outside the base but near it were zoned into minority schools because they looked at it as we were temporary citizens and not worthy of the “better” schools. So in Virginia I went to an African-American school, in Texas Hispanic, and in Arizona and North Dakota I went to schools predominantly Native American. You quickly see how you have privilege and how these other groups get screwed. I was riding in a car with my AA friends and we were pulled on more than occasion in Virginia. Instead of explaining what the offense was they would often lead with a question to me as a passenger as to why I was in the car. The insinuation was I might be in peril because I was a white guy in a car full of African-Americans. And that was in the 70s!

    So yeah, excuse me for not wanting to go back to a decade where millions were locked out of the fairy tale “American Dream”. Going back isn’t all about me. I have to deal with my conscience.

    @FunCartel & @waynewv ~ It doesn't matter if you go back or forth. If you're going to a time where there are people, you'll get to experience some BS. And where your travel pod lands will impact the degree to which you experience said BS. All that said, you'll hopefully get to experience positives too. And no matter what, there's nothing preventing one from being a positive change agent while there.

    I’d go to the Bronze Age . I think I could show them a thing or two . Then they would , like , whoa, this dude is smart , we have to immortalize him and my stone likeness would be chiseled out and I’d be in a museum

    @quixotic_life Anything you change has indeterminate consequences for people later on. Somebody in an effort to affect change based on your words loses their life and suddenly a whole batch of people no longer exist today. I do believe however, that I might pull a Chris Walken Dead Zone on Trump’s father if I went back.

    But really, this is all fairy tale stuff.

    I would either got back to 2018/2019 to the pre covid era or far enough into the future that covid is no longer an issue and ideally dentistry and health care is even better. I am terrified of losing teeth so I would like to live in a time where teeth can be regrown and all cancer can be quickly and painlessly cured and all the other scary diseases aren’t an issue anymore.
