A message to aspiring pros...

  • I think they have those options to fill them out because this site is about making connections and knowing about fave movies and shows and whatnot seem to be some easy ways to talk with others. An easy chance to connect ☺️

  • How many kids I have or my sexual orientation.... it’s all so weird for a therapeutic service. Also, when I go to massage envy for massage I don’t get to see photos. And my last 4 physical therapists I went to see, I never saw a photo beforehand. What does it matter if this is a therapeutic service?

  • What is mandatory for pros to fill out?

  • I just checked massage envy to make sure—no photos of therapists

  • Why do we need a photo anyway?

    I don’t understand, is this about connection or therapeutic service? You all make it sound like a dating site like firefighter said.

  • Two words: Brand Recognition ;)

    I’d rather see their cuddle credentials

  • @ChibiShema ....I was curious when you brought up Massage Envy. The Columbus Ohio area has two locations and the web sites here have pictures of male and female therapists at these locations and even has a brief bio underneath the photos. I was surprised to see that.

    @ChibiShema

    This site is not only about pro cuddlers and clients - it's also (at least in theory) about non-pros connecting and, for better or worse, actually seeing someone is an important part of social connection.

    Even on the strictly professional level, FWIW, the site psychologytoday.com, which is commonly used to find therapists, displays pictures of therapists and a profile.

    The simple fact is that if I'm inviting someone to come over and get in my bed with me, I want to know what they look like. If you find that weird and prefer to not know what people look like before they come over, so be it, but you are very much in the minority.

    @CuddleDuncan

    I will be as anonymous as I want doing any activity I want. This is my decision, and your insistence that it's not is absurd.

    The majority of your posts are reasonable and positive contributions to the forum. But I've seen several, like your post here, that are bizarre, irrational, judgmental, extreme, and completely out of touch with anything anyone actually posted. Maybe when you're about to post something critical take a step back and see if your thoughts actually reflect the substance of what was said, and whether you're being judgmental about something that's none of your business.

  • The website for my location does not have photos of massage therapists

  • Ok look let's just be honest here a large percentage of people are going to be more willing to pay to cuddle with a partner they find attractive, that just the world we live in.
    Should it matter? No not really, cuddles are about the FEELING after all but things are what they are shrugs

    The site makes money by receiving fees from its pros, It is therefore in the sites interest that the pros have increased chances of making money.

    As for the repeated comparison to massage therapy. Here's the issue they are VERY different kinds of therapy with vastly different levels of personal connection.

    I can honestly say I didn't feel close at all with the physical therapist that treated me after the accident that put all this metal in my skeleton and I saw her for 2 years. I've cuddled with some people less than 10 minutes and felt like I'd known them my whole life.

    If you still don't understand it then I can't help you, that's as clear cut as it gets.

    Cuddlemelater. But you don’t post a photo of yourself

  • Ahh. So being attractive is important to this therapy.

  • not trying to get into an argument here..... on Massage envy web sites you have to scroll all the way to the bottom of the home page...all the way lol.... and there is a "therapist" tab that once clicked has photos/ bios.

  • @ChibiShema - there are FAQS and information threads. I suggest reading some of them. They may answer your questions. [-Sid]

    @ChibiShema

    I do send photos when I message someone I'm interested in cuddling.

    I think you've really latched onto the idea that cuddling is "therapy." I don't see it as therapy, although it probably has some therapeutic applications.

    Cuddling is fun and makes me happy.

  • Thank you everyone

  • I’ve been reading. A lot. And I can’t find the profile posting requirements for a pro. Help, please

  • Actually, I think I found it but in a red message at the top it says I’m blocked from becoming pro at this time. Or something like that

  • @ChibiShema not everyone treats cuddling as a form of therapy, many of.us just like to.do.it for personal reasons . There are many helpful forms of therapy. I dont cuddle.for therapeutic reasons . It's just a nice thing to do with people who I enjoy being around . I think you may be putting a bit more thought into this than it really is .

  • @pmvines Agreed! I've always cuddled solely because I enjoy it, not as a form of therapy.

  • After sleeping on these ideas. It sounds like some of you guys are just using this as your own personal playgrounds. That sounds like fun and something I could get behind.

    I can remain anonymous. I can meet women I’m attracted to. They will hold me. And I have fun. What a brilliant idea! I’m liking this more and more.

    Thank you all so much for pushing me to open my mind a bit more. And it is closed pretty dang shut. So this is good.

  • @ChibiShema that's not exactly what I was inferring. I do make meaningful connections with people in a platonic manner and either meet in the real world or not . What you described you got our of my comment sounds almost like a dating site or hookup kind of thing and thats not what I meant. I just donr get into the cuddle as therapy reasoning of cuddling. That doesn't mean I donr feel it cant be therapeutic, just not my thing so I donr seek it out for that . I'm about making friends and building connections and I just think cuddling is a cool thing to do .

    As you can tell, I am a bit perplexed. I truly appreciate the help and support as I navigate this new possibility.

  • This almost sounds like it could be a new topic (which has probably been done before)... why do we cuddle? What do we get out of it? What do we put into it?
