Why is it so many women have pics of themselves with their tongues sticking out???
I can understand maybe if they’re doing some crazy activity, but in general, it’s just not a good look IMO.
If they also have their eyes crossed with their tongues out, I can tell you why.

I think a lot of women don't know the origin of it but it started out with anime girls and then moved into hentai (anime porn). The girls are generally portrayed with crossed eyes and tongue out. So like as @GrayKunz was suggesting, if they are crossed eyed in the pictures..I might question their reasoning for being on the site.

This post is silly to me.. There is no general consensus that will come from debating why people (but for this arguments sake, women) post pictures with their tongues out. The theme of this thread currently is that it's traced back to porn, but I can share another less sexual point of view -sheer playfulness. For decades, cartoons and children's shows have depicted characters sticking their tongues out as a way to playfully jest, tease, taunt, etc. I wouldn't chalk up everyone's tongue out picture to them unknowingly mimicking porn, rather take it as a sign of child-like playfulness. For me, personally, my friends probably have plenty of photos of me sticking my tongue out on their camera phones and it's done so as an homage to my spunky childhood and to highlight the joy/fun I'm experiencing in that moment, and not as an act of homage to porn. For those who post tongue-sticking-out pictures on their profile, yes, this may be seen as immature, but it's up to the poster to decide how they'd like to be perceived by viewers. Basically, just let people live.

The other day I said someone's username was romantic without thinking and I was in a panic to log back on and change it to nice. So glad this thread was started, as I have wondering about this for more than a year! I don't really get the explanation given re: anime.....this is a site for cuddling, and I imagine pics are used to induce interest, as well as to give an idea of the physical appearance of the pro advertising. I usually assumed it had some sexual connotation; but whether it does or not, I almost always find it unattractive and have never contacted a pro with such photos.
To clarify, I'm not saying sticking your tongue out is by default sexual . My post was referring to the pop culture phenomenon of it along with the cross eyes thing which, yes , is a thing, you are welcome to look it up on your own if you wish don't ask me why I know these things cus I'll deny it all

@Hugginghealer I knew this, I just didn't want to admit it and out myself as being, well, creepy for knowing this. At least now I am not alone...haha. I've been into anime since before the internet and rule 32 even existed....lol. I used to rent all kinds of anime and martial arts movies from the Asian video stores in my neighborhood in the 1980s...haha.
