If we're roomies, I'll untie your white jacket if you untie mine. 😁

  • Don't you hate it when a great comment flips the page?

    🤣🤣

  • @SunshineHug Cuddle Bus trip to the coast or other cooler location? Otherwise see you after November 1st. That is something I would love to be apart of.

  • @pmvines
I don't believe what this has descended to was the goal of your original Post

Perhaps we can list our favorite cheeses to bring to the meetup.

@Unscented_Lemon If offering to buy you a beer or coffee and inviting you and everyone to a meetup makes me the name you called me- I am ok with that. I am also not offended and having a drink with people who hold different views usually results in friendship. @Morpheus stated that well enough

I prefer IPA's - Others may put in their drink requests

I would suggest an IPA for @JoyfulHeart as the alcohol content is higher-

  • those who go on blocking sprees of those who they disagree with and proudly announce it

I honestly didn't realize this was supposed to be a pun. Did anyone else see a "pride" pun here?

  • I haven't read this thread but I think most people aren't assholes. The problem is that the non-assholes allow the assholes to be assholes on a massive scale.

  • @BrianOcean Admirable effort at being amicable with them, but I fear it is a futile effort given this person's history of grudge holding and labeling.

@JasonCuddles I agree, I think it takes a moderate amount of asshole-ness to effectively put a stop to the full blown assholes, but most people fall far from the middle that scale 🙃

  • @Specialist_Log

I am she, not they. Please do not misgender me.

And, as you please. @BrianOcean if you understand why I said you were that, and you're not going to do it again, then I can accept your apology. If not, then I'd rather you just not bother me.

  • Hmm interesting . Kinda like an antibody reacting to defend against a virus strain. The virus being an asshole, and the antibody being a milder form of asshole. An asslite of sorts.

    @Unscented_Lemon
That was not my intent, hence the use of gender neutral which is entirely acceptable in this case as I did not wish to directly reference you. Would you have preferred "that person"?
Irrelevant, the damage is done. Oh well. Guess I'll be walking on eggshells around here forever.

Edit: Singular "they" for anyone curious:
    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Singular_they

  • @Specialist_Log Why would you expect that I'd be the one person who didn't know who you were referring to? Serious question.

  • @Unscented_Lemon

in this case as I did not wish to directly reference you.

I'm a stubborn MF, and it seems you are quite resilient as well. The bickering gets nowhere, hence my not wanting to be direct about it in the hopes you wouldn't notice and this conversation wouldn't happen.
    Plan failed. Oh well

Be nice ! I fully support trans issues and trans rights as well as trans people. However I don't like dumpster fires regardless of which side strikes the match and comments like that you might as well be lighting a piece of tissue on fire and tossing it into the trash . Not telling you to not voice your opinion but be nice and behave please

  • Maybe we should start a thread on whether various cheeses are actually cheese or not. Though since it doesn't actually affect anyone, it's something people can agree to disagree on.

  • edited June 2024

For a thread on the matter, I think first we would have to agree on a precise definition of 'cheese' . Next, analyze each different substance commonly accepted as a 'cheese' to see whether or not the definition fits. Then, we could continue with analysis of other compounds to see if they fit the definition of cheese

  • There will be two different factions, the cheese-inclusive and the cheese-exclusive.

    Is Velveeta cheese?

  • What about government cheese

  • It can be cheese if it wants to be.

  • edited June 2024

@Unscented_Lemon I see what you did there

  • edited June 2024

I think this discussion has been excessively derailed. But, for good measure..

    Cheese.

  • Velveeta is solidified cheese sauce and tolerable when cooked in a casserole.

  • @JessArt88 Very cute pic!!! 💕 Right down my alley! Love Hello Kitty!

  • I remember eating velvets as a kid. My grandma would make Mac n cheese with it. It’s been so long that I have no clue how it tastes now.

  • If it can be nestled in melted warm form upon a tortilla, it's cheese

I loved government cheese growing up. My dad mined a bunch of the stuff and a pile of other old Civil Defense stuff from a forgotten, dusty basement at his work. The huge tins of peanut butter were good too.

As a bonus my mom and I sewed some covers to turn two Civil Defense drums into night stands. Plus that year I went out for Halloween in an outfit made around a gas mask and some other protective equipment, complete with a huge, working geiger counter, lol.

That find was the gift that kept on giving for years ...

  • @HarleyGirlKate
Plus it comes in five pound blocks

  • Cotija doesn’t melt

  • Just a few general potluck etiquette reminders:
    ■ Don't insult the host, or trash their place.
    ■ Don't dish up what you can't take, or that you don't intend to eat.
    ■ Don't expect others to politely consume what you brought to share (especially when so many of your prior contributions have made people sick).

note: I know this is not an exhaustive list, but seeing as how the lack of tact has been abundant in other threads (and because I was dragged in this one), I figured this as good a time and place as any for a quick PSA addressing the most common of faux pas I've been seeing.
