Meeting someone without karma

Hey I'm new to the site and wondering what are tips for staying safe when someone doesn't have any stars. I want to be safe, but not have so many conditions that it is over the top and makes the whole thing stressful or makes people not want to meet. TIA!

I always make sure someone knows my location, who I'm with and when to expect me to check in

I’ve seen at least one profile with tiers for karma levels, such as:
0 karma - public or virtual cuddles only
3+ karma - pro will be a guest at your place
5+ karma or 2 virtual/public/guest cuddles - pro can host you

Seems like a reasonable way to have either familiarity or strong references before meeting in person or hosting 🤷‍♂️

Edit: whoops I thought the original post was re: being a new professional, not enthusiast. The above advice doesn’t make as much sense for an enthusiast.

  • Always trust your instincts. I would probably opt to meet a zero karma person in a public space the first time if I were you. If an account is fairly old and has no karma it might be a red flag, if newish it's kind of expected, everyone starts somewhere.

We all had no karma until we did. I'm still the same person I was when I had none as I am now with , well I don't even know anymore cus I haven't looked in a while, but last time I checked it was quite a bit. Being a bad human is what makes someone a red flag. Not whether they have an arbitrary number of Amazon product style review made by people who they have hung out with.

You have none yourself. Do you consider that makes you high risk for someone to spend time with you? I mean that sincerely though it sounds facetious. I am asking you to not just look at amount of karma as being your metric for your interactions with folks here. Even people who have been here a while might just not have luck meeting folks, the time or energy for it, or have met people who for whatever reason just aren't the karma leaving type.

  • @Comet85 I know you mentioned you saw that on just one profile but I wouldn’t necessarily go by that; seems a bit rigid.

@Cozette_Comfy Welcome to the platform. Since you’re an enthusiast seeking g same I would recommend after a bit of messaging to move to an actual human telephone conversation and maybe a FaceTime to get a mutual vibe and comfort level.

    Happy cuddling to you….

From old accounts with no karma,
And new accounts with a lot of karma,
    Still trust your instinct,
    To dodge the drama.

  • From what I hear, the best metric for an enthusiast is time. Spending time connecting to and stepping into new levels when you're comfortable like:
    🔅Messaging here a bit
    🔅Exchanging google voice numbers
    🔅Exchange pictures
    🔅Phone call or Facetime
    🔅Meet in public
    🔅Cuddle!

  • You can also do a WhatsApp, FaceTime, Zoom or Teams session to know each other before the actual in person session. I see the web site even allows to give Karma after chatting even without a booking. Who knows if the Karma is real or not.

  • Some of my best cuddles and loveliest friendships have come out of meeting those with zero Karma.

It's all a matter of getting to know someone and gauging their intentions and sincerity. 😊

  • @Cozette_Comfy I think you should really read @pmvines ’ post as he nails it. By its very nature karma can be unreliable. But the person will always reveal themself.

Karma is a useful tool, but it's not always reliable. No Karma on an old account with good photos and a well written profile is one thing: no Karma on a new account which is basically blank is quite another.

You may find these threads helpful:

  • I myself have met a few with good karma who NEVER paid me -I always wished we had a group based off area to talk about these things to look out for each other

  • @jmblue
There is a pro only section of the forum, if you haven't already been on it I know there are or at least in the past have been discussions among pros on how to handle these things and warnings of who is potentially problematic

  • @jmblue Per the site’s rules, payment is due before the session even begins:

Payment for each session is due before the session or at the very start of one.

  • @CuddleDuncan posted: "No Karma on an old account with good photos and a well written profile is one thing: no Karma on a new account which is basically blank is quite another."

Personally, I find new accounts with no Karma to be very obviously understandable... While people who have been active for many years with no Karma throw up a yellow flag to me, that perhaps that person doesn't follow through with meet-ups, hasn't been a good experience for others, or is asking people not to leave Karma for fear of some paper trail. Every case is different, but certainly being new and Karmaless makes the most sense, of the two.

  • @jmblue : ALWAYS get payment upfront. Not reading all the rules isn’t an excuse for non-payment. Please report them.

Also, if you haven’t been paid, you can request to be refunded for the fee the site takes for those sessions. I’ve had to do this a couple times when someone ghosted me or cancelled last-minute & didn’t cancel the session themselves.

  • I don’t know about all of you, but I am not the most concerned about nonpayment as I am about personal safety. Anyone can register on the site even if they have felonies or violent history. I personally do a background check on everybody I see, but that is because I had a very bad experience with one person. My profile shows my rules are rigid, but this is my safety, and I will be extreme if I need to. Unless the person has a significant amount of karma, I mean, 10+, I require I’d be verification. I know this site seems innocent with a pretty innocent intention, but I’m not gonna wind up on the news personally. Just a word of advice from somebody who had bad experience once.

  • As someone who didn't WANT karma or reviews for a long time (in an effort to stay as low-profile as I could) I will say that the zero karma person should KNOW why people want to see it, and be willing to abide by reasonable measures to give their prospective cuddle buddy some sense of security. Whenever I reached out before I started accepting karma, (and honestly still) I am always clear that the person's sense of safety matters to me and that I'm willing to do what it takes to demonstrate that including video calls, recent pictures, etc.

  • That's a good point. There is a non-trivial proportion of the membership who actively do not want Karma for one reason or another, and actively discourage it.

  • @Cozette_Comfy lot of people have already mentioned - google voice number/other disposable number, exchanging recent selfies, meeting in public first etc. One thing that will certainly keep away the creeps is to ask them to send their vehicle details which is required for you to print out a visitor parking pass. This works great if you live in an apartment, condominium or similar places with restricted parking.

I usually try to have a voice call with them or text to help me get a better sense of the person. There's also many new people, that technically aren't new but may have left the site for a while, deleted their account, then created a new one, whatever it may be. Then there's some that don't care or even want Karma. So it really just depends. But I can say there have been a couple of newbies that just creeped me out from the get go, thus I never cuddled with them. I can honestly say that out of all my sessions with them having no Karma, that I've probably only felt really uncomfortable like 3 times. All the others were golden and I'd cuddle with them again in a heartbeat. Not to mention that I feel honored that someone choose me; out of all the other cuddlers, to be their first. ☺️

Hope that helps a little and please feel free to reach out to me anytime if you need anything or have any questions.
Just go with what you feel is right for you.
    Happy cuddling 🤗

  • One other thing I forgot to add is that I have a really good cuddler that told me when he first started out that he wasn't getting any responses from any one that he was trying to book. Until one day someone took a chance on him and agreed to the booking. She ended up leaving him great Karma. After that he was getting all kinds of women reaching out to him asking if he would cuddle with him. How crazy is that ? 😅 So, yeah I feel everyone should be given a chance, unless of course they make you feel uneasy. 😉
