I love tabletop games! I'm fond of:

Cartagena - pirates escaping down a tunnel.
Diamant - collect diamonds before the mine collapses.
Galaxy Trucker - hope your spaceship made from junk survives the journey.
Hamsterolle - place wooden blocks on a rotating wheel.
Limits - remember how many cards of each colour have appeared.
Robo Rally - program your robot then watch as your plans fall apart.
Settlers of Catan - collect resources to build roads and cities.
Survive - get your people to safety before Atlantis sinks.
Thebes - dig for treasure (and dirt) at archaeological sites.
Tobago - narrow down treasure locations then grab your share.
Valdora - deliver gems around the board.

I also design games a hobby. More failures than successes, but I liked the way Travellers' Tales and The Labyrinth of Tepuza turned out.

    As for video games:

    Crash Bandicoot
    Crash Bandicoot 2
    Crash Bandicoot 3
    Crash Bandicoot Racing
    (detecting a theme yet?)

    Halo 1
    Freelancer
    Tetris :)

I don't normally play a wide variety of games but instead ill focus on one and spend a long time only playing that, reach whatever goal I have and then completely lose interest.

    Currently: Rust
    Formerly: Tekken 7, Overwatch

  • @Alternis Risk is a lot of fun! It always reminds me of Rimmer's story in Red Dwarf.

  • Tabletop: My friends and I enjoy card games like Munchkin, Exploding Kittens and Bears vs Babies a lot.

Video games: Since last week I've been playing Monster Hunter World on PS4 and I'm hooked! The games I like most that I've played before last week are Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Pokemon Ultra Sun.

  • The Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy series, I have a soft spot for the first Assassin's Creed game, I've mostly watched it played but I do love Mass Effect, Duel Links, the old pokemon games, Smash Bros, Shadow of Mordor, King's Quest 1-6, (I like to ignore 7 when possible and... 8? What 8? >_> Nope, I don't see any 8th game!)

Don't Starve, Chrono Cross, Chrono Trigger, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, The Journeyman Project series, Sid Meier's Civilization V, Undertale, Catherine, Yandere Simulator (I know it's not out yet xD) I haven't played enough of it, but the Persona series seems pretty good, Plants Vs Zombies, Portal, Harvest Moon: Back to Nature, Minecraft, I was into World Of Warcraft at one point-- I still have a level 90-something rogue main on there.

  • I played Everquest 2 for a long time, but quit playing after most of my friends left. I still have my account though. Now I mostly play stuff my kids are into like Minecraft and Slime Rancher. I like to play Munchkin, Cards Against Humanity, and Euchre. I love Risk, but my brother and I can turn a game into a week long battle. lol

I have a collection of over 100 Euro games. Hard to pick a favorite, but I find Lanterns to have a unique mechanism, is easy to teach and play, but has deep strategy for those looking for that.

  • Games that spark my interests:

    • Zelda - Interesting
    • Hamsterrolle - Maybe I'll get. :)
    • Bamboleo - I think is more challenging both in play and gathering fallen pieces. Not much my kind.

    • Kingdom Come: Deliverance - Maybe I'll try (Released on February 13, 2018.) I like Medieval Games. :)

  • Omg! Can everyone come have a game night at my house please?!? Hahaha

I like an old-fashioned game of dominoes. If you buy two sets of different colors, you can come up with all kinds of interesting variations. Bananagrams is also fun and educational, especially for kids. Both can be played by any number of people.

  • If anybody's in driving distance of Indianapolis, there's a free gaming convention there in a couple weeks. It's sort of a baby GenCon, and lots of GMs test games they'll run at GenCon. I know the folks who run it, and it's a really fun event.

    I love playing Pandemic.
For quick games that are easy to teach I like Zombie Dice, Guillotine, and Blockus.
I helped run a Settlers of Catan tournament at GenCon a couple years ago, which taught me that I am terrible at that game, but I still think it's fun.

  • @LisaMeece haha it doesn't matter if you're terrible or not. I actually really like when I lose at games because it gives me a problem to solve. Catan is pretty fun, I'd play it more often if I could.

I play, and do work on misery. It's a mod for STALKER:COP
    http://www.moddb.com/mods/stalker-misery

@respectful I am a fan of red dwarf. I grew up with it.

@I_am_Polylover MOO2 was amazing for its time. Stellaris is the only (space)game I've played that has come close to it and I really like 4x games. Civ4 with the realism invictus mod is quite good too.

@waywardchild80 I actually play on an EQ1 emu server called shards of dalaya. It's pretty different from the original. I enjoy it a fair amount but it's not for people who don't enjoy grind and progression.

  • I liked settlers of Catan significantly better when I tried it with a fudge die variant. More strategy and less of a feeling of being a prisoner to the luck of the dice roll O:-)

  • @ubergigglefritz Try the Star Trek version, too - there's an additional mechanic of "character cards" that also mitigates the tyranny of the dice.

  • I really like ping pong

  • I like Game of Things, Scattergories, and Cranium!

  • Oh and I was recently introduced to cards against humanity, love it!!
