Cheers! I just hope it's an uneventful ceremony

  • Watching from the UK, and soooo happy!! Woop!

  • @quixotic_life Yay!!! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

  • The best thing happened this morning... The 4th grade teacher I assist spent about 2 minutes explaining how to be "sneaky" and look like they're all "fully focused on him" but are actually watching history happen!!! (and "let" kids share the link πŸ˜‰). And he was talking to them all about Biden's wife Jill, his history of service, Kamala's background, etc.

Kiddo: "So is T now a regular person like us?"
Teacher: "Yes, as of ___ minutes ago he no longer has special privileges or authority."

    Then he moved things along...

In the chat: "Whoo-hoo", "Yay!", "Trump out Biden in Good day", "finally! i feel safer", "Sorry I'm late, we were using the computer to watch Biden online..."

    Lol ~ I love it!!! πŸ€—

  • My shoulders dropped so much today!

Unfortunately, Trump is still not a regular person regardless of what an uninformed teacher said. Obvious personality traits aside, the ex-president gets a staff, tax write-offs for office and staff expenses, and free health and life insurance. In addition, the ex-president gets a Secret Service detail assigned to him 24/7 and a pension. All of which you and I pay for. So he is far from a regular person. Too bad civics is no longer properly taught in schools anymore.

I am sure there will be a line item expense for Orange hair dye #45 in his taxes. If he even files.

@FunCartel ~ not necessarily. He's been impeached twice and may be facing criminal charges ~ Federal at that. So...? Who knows... He may just get a small little box to hang out in (if there's to be any justice that is). Dang, how sweet it would be if they could send him to his buddy's place in AZ...

Edit ~ good gravy I tagged the wrong person... and their names aren't even close (personalities somewhat but jeez!!!)... πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ I need coffee...

@quixotic_life Where is @UltimateChungus post? I also think people are deluded if they think he will be convicted. Money talks in the legal system and he has money. If we really want to unite the country, ignore himβ€”he is an attention whore. The only thing accomplished by aggressively prosecuting him is you give half the country a martyr.

  • If he doesn't go to prison, he'll run for president again in 2024. I guarantee it.

  • He won’t succeed in 2024. The power brokers in the Republican party are chipping away at the ice like Yukon Cornelius now and sending Trump and his disciples like Hawley adrift. They are slowly being politically quarantined by their own.

  • If everything goes through with the impeachment he won't be able to. Plus his approval has plummeted in recent weeks. Over half his base are hard core about the flag, our institutions, etc. All that BS that happened turned people off him. Plus the itty-bitty group of supporters left are mostly crack-pot conspiracy theorists, white supremacists, or both (plus the 6 still in office) but... yeah... I don't think so.

  • @quixotic_life - Haha.. My dad and uncle still supports him for some reason.

  • PS... the Teacher isn't uninformed by any means... it was a stammer catch to get off the topic since we aren't allowed to really discuss him. Due to the degree of trauma inflicted by him and his decisions within our community (Portland), and we don't have the ability to hold appropriate space or provide adequate services for kids and families who are triggered within our digital learning environments. We've sent our resources, but handling fallout "live" has been really problematic.
It pretty much sucks either which way, but we're doing our best...

  • @quixotic_life - I don't think they actually like him as a person, but they'll rather vote for him than vote for a democrat.

  • @quixotic_life Portland is no different than most other citiesβ€”digital learning and its limitations are going on everywhere. My point is when he said he no linger has β€œspecial privileges” as you stated he is clearly wrong. Everything i listed he receives is a special privilege. He doesn't have to be evasive about teaching Civics 101.

Well at least Donny was right about one thing---he said it 4 long years ago, but he finally drained the swamp when he departed DC early this morning.

Can we talk about how beautiful Mrs. Obama looked today. My queen. Add her to my celebrity crush list.

  • Finally nice to see courtesy, dignity, respect, decorum and humility back in the office. Even the banter between both the VP couples seemed like such a refreshing sight to watch.

  • My first thought was "Okay, I can breathe again"

I'm a government teacher by profession. So this fartknocker didn't just mess up my country for the last 4 years, He messed up my work too.

Even though I wasn’t looking forward to Biden being our next president, I’m really proud of the 17 executive orders he has taken today & Bernie Sanders being the new senate budget committee chairman ...
