Shells on a beach at Jervis Bay, Australia.
@respectful Those shells are so pretty! And I recently read some of the first member interviews that you did. You seem to have a lot of good things going on between your ears.
@achetocuddle Thanks!
This one's a little more urban. A beautiful little rainy flood pond
One of my favorite places for photographing wading birds is along a narrow canal just inside the Shark Valley entrance to Everglades National Park. The birds have learned that people never cross the canal, which has a large alligator population, so they have no fear of us. The well lit foreground and dense dark background are ideal lighting conditions to display this Great Blue Heron.
@GreatHornedOwl Every time you post a picture of a bird that isn't a great horned owl I experience momentary confusion.
@JoyfulHeart - I've always liked owls, and we have pair of Great Horned Owls that nest in my wooded yard.
Australian wild flower.
Absolutely loving this thread 💜💜💜
Does anyone know what this beautiful bug is? I saw it on the way to work in North Dakota, and it practically posed for me. A very confident creature, and more than an inch long at least!
Look at those big, expressive eyes. Check out the pattern on those wings. Gorgeous. But what is it?
@DaringSprinter Idk what that insect is, but it's really majestic! 💕
I found these beauties! They're Magenta Drummond flowers, I believe
@DaringSprinter that's a giant water bug aka toe-biter. Can bite but not poisonous. Likes to feign death so probably why it was posing for you Great pic 👍
Aha! Thanks, @OhioMike! And thank you.

We have had a colder and wetter April here in central Ohio but things are slowly sprouting…. This is a willow tree planted 3 years ago …
My pear 🍐 tree is really struggling to get going…
@OhioMike Really like your pics. And a pear tree! Lucky you. I hope it bears well.
Thank you @achetocuddle 😊

@SunshineScarlett You did good starting this post. It really is a getaway!
The Green Heron is a wading bird who prefers to keep his feet dry.
@achetocuddle that means so much to me, really 🫶 I thought it would be like a breath of fresh air for CC
