  • @cuddles_ndream same lol!
But a text from far away friend got me smiling today ☺

  • @chloe88 i took tomorrow off to do my taxes , so I’m back to having only 1 day before my weekend 😂

  • Texts from a good friend. We feed off each other's nonsense. 😂

  • The bunny pic from babi and the dog pic from physical made me smile in this thread.

Before this thread some dogs and cats made me smile today

  • This WHOLE thread... It's nice to hear about other people's happiness. =)

Me? I did some semi-spontaneous shopping at a new (to me) metaphysical shop, only to discover that a friend of mine I haven't seen for a few months was working there... I bought a necklace for myself, a David Bowie prayer candle for my roommate, and had a wonderful hour-long conversation with my friend. It was honestly what my day needed.

  • A coworker and I cried together today (about totally different things) and we ended up laughing some too.

I get to share a work space with wonderful people who make me feel supported and connected.

Recognizing that this evening, made me smile.

I work at a place that is retail for tourism, specifically, a novelty & nostalgia shop.
I'm lucky enough to hear the laughter of people finding things that amuse the jeebs out of them. Often.
All ages, from the smallest to the oldest.. Even if they don't buy anything~ (WHY DON'T THEY BUY MORE THINGS?)~
Knowing I inspired what smiles I could absolutely has me smiling regularly....

Okay this was yesterday and I'm sick and on meds so maybe I just had a mental breakdown, but the spluttering sound in this video made me laugh hysterically until I cried:

Seeing a knight in Shinning Armour come to the defense of a well known troll, only to look very * cringe * 😬 in the end (that made me laugh & smile) 😊

  • edited April 2022

I never claimed to be a knight I hate horses . Armor is a bit stiff too . But hey, there are threads upon threads and posts upon posts of cringe, passive aggression , whining , self gratuitous drivel, and boring pointless content on this site. Some contribute a lot more to that than others. So a small token of cringe every once in a while isnt too bad I suppose .

  • Seeing the troll banned. She may have been well known, but not by me! In retrospect, that perfectly explains her messages to me. Ah, I thought, I get it now. And I smiled—a bit ruefully, but still.

    We can tell : )

Hmmm. Would you mind taking your weird vendetta somewhere else, @cuddles_ndream? This is the What Made You Smile Today thread, not the Mock Someone For Being A Decent Person thread.

  • @DaringSprinter i do mind , carry on.

  • edited April 2022

Was I being mocked ? Oops I didn't catch that one . Neat . A machine gun with no ammo . Glad to see things are , for better or worse , about the same around here

  • @DaringSprinter Touche.

I got a message from someone here that I only started chatting with today and they said I made them smile. That made me smile.

  • I didn’t know I was mocking either lol

  • @pmvines and @cuddles_ndream:

Ah. Hm. Well. In my world, going "Look at this incompetent defender who defended the wrong person! Ha! Here's a picture of a white knight failing to mount his horse!" is mockery. Silly me....

    @achetocuddle: That's lovely. 😊

  • edited April 2022

@DaringSprinter oh I agree with you . Just wasnt quite as punchy as intended I suppose. Not very noticeable, if that was the actual intent. I'm also not easily mocked as I give less rat poop about what people think of me than the average Joe

  • Mockery wasn’t the intent, stating the obvious was.

  • @pmvines: You're a pretty cool person, you know that? You make me smile.

  • Found refreshingly Pleasant conversation with a few people on here today, and gave one of them all the meme ammunition they will need for a lifetime😌 plus good pizza and bad movies

    Today was a good day🙂

  • The lower volume of snarky on the forum today made me smile. More please.

  • I ate my first home grown strawberry today and grew it under lights, a first for me. It was okay. Not fabulous but not bad either.

  • That sounds good. I'm impressed by you growing it under lights.

  • @achetocuddle - my intention is to move it outdoors but we had a freeze warning right after I bought it, I brought it inside, and decided to try it. Apparently you can grow day neutral strawberries under lights but you have to hand pollinate them.

Today I smiled when noticing a few other by standers quickly offer to help an older gent in need! his cart had starte3d to run away with all of his groceries poorly stacked and falling out. I was a bit too far to reach him in time but it was so sweet to see other locals of my city run to help ... Suuper heartwarming

Just before the weekend my dad and stepmum both caught what seems like a slightly nastier than normal cold, sore throats and lots of sneezing involved. I thought I'd do something I've not done before and bring them round a couple of snacks and a get well soon card as they live close by. Apparently I caught the same bug that's going around and even while sick my dad brought me round a card and a couple of easter eggs as well.

Thanked them and his response was that I started a trend, it's a bit bittersweet because it kind of shows the lack of demonstrations or acts of affections me and my family have shared over the years but I smiled at the prospect of delicious chocolately goodies (though cutting down on sugar so probably going to have 1 of the eggs then give the other away or save it) but also the fact that it's never too late to start doing something good like that.
