@Scifixplorer and @Unscented_Lemon: And before anyone pops up saying they don't smoke during cuddles, I have such sensitive lungs that even thirdhand smoke can leave me coughing.
That stuff sticks around.
Don't delete "inactive" profiles. Allow users the ability to hide profiles on the time-based criteria they select. The could be a global setting or selectively invoked -- for example, only during a search.
@DaringSprinter Exactly. It's even worse than perfume for me. At least perfume can usually be washed off. Cigarette smoke is in your hair, in your clothes, in absolutely everything.
Why do posts show up on the forum by profiles who have been blocked? Everyone talks of triggering. I'm not sure if I buy completely into that, but if it's the case, why should we be triggered by seeing posts by members we blocked.
@snugbuddy hiding forum posts doesn't make any sense - you wouldn't be able to follow the sense of thread. Also, the blockee doesn't know that they have been blocked, which could lead to confusion ... possibly followed by a disturbance.
Also, people use the blocking function in different ways. Many of them wouldn't care if they read posts by the blockee. In fact, in plenty of cases, they would be perfectly happy to have an interaction on the forum.
@CuddleDuncan Most other forums I've been on have it setup so posts are blocked. It doesn't seem to cause much confusion. As far as blocking for different reasons there could be a choice to block or not block forum posts.
@Unscented_Lemon Yeah, that happened to me where I cuddled someone and her smoke smell got on my clothes. Luckily I was able to wash it off, but I was like "Seriously?"
I wish there was a like or love option for posts.
@TNNative I agree and this has been brought up before. I think the forums are the last thing they think about when site improvements are discussed.
@TNNative @FunCartel but if there were like buttons then that means I might have to put some actual thought into my posts or else I will feel unpopular. I am here only to cater to my ego you know
I think of someone has been inactive for more than a month they shouldn't appear on the top of the main page. That way active cuddlers are getting the advertising and not inactive.
It would be amazing if this could eventually move to having an app making it more accessible?
And yes I’ve already seen a discussion done on it but I think there needs to be some kind of vetting done on the sites end or at least a more secure way of allowing people to create profiles. For instance something I’ve seen on other sites: a phone number has to be put in when creating a profile and not a spoof number or google number. That way if someone gets banned they can’t keep coming back and creating new accounts (which I have seen more than once on here) unless they’re dropping money to get new phones and very determined.
@VaniRae31 if you see banned people returning, please Report them. On the whole the site is very sophisticated at picking up such people. As you say, you have to be very determined to get back: I don't know if buying a new phone would help but it's certainly the kind of thing you'd need to do.
To all and intents and purposes there is an app. Here's the thread about it:
1) Archive option/feature for discussions on General forum. Maybe place it right next to the Bookmark ⭐️ option.
2) Ability to use a Country as location in search option. Needless to say, if someone does use a country instead of a specific location, it eliminates the distance requirement. If not for few countries, other countries are geographically larger and/or have fewer cuddlers. Constantly having to input in major cities or trying to figure a suitable city for 300 mile radius search is cumbersome.
3) If you visit someone’s profile and click on the city they have listed on their profile- that should redirect and show you search results with that city as location & every other search metric remains same. And once we hit the search 🔎 on our homepage/tab it uses the location & metrics that we had input manually.
It would help if you had a bad arrow to go to the previous page
I think liking posts invites the possibility of unintended negative consequences.
Liking posts can lead to people writing them in particular ways, or perhaps using or avoiding certain buzzwords, in order to garner likes. While that can happen now, holding out this carrot exacerbates the tendency.
People might be more likely to like posts by people they know or names they recognize. I'm not suggesting that this would be a conscious act, or that they wouldn't also like posts by strangers. Just that there would be a slight tendency in this direction, if only because they were more likely to read posts by people they know in the first place.
With posts rated, some people, not all, but some, who now read or scan every post would take the easy way out and only read those that have been blessed with majority approval.
Finally, since liking posts is essentially an endorsement of content, is it possible that worthy posts that aren't in lockstep with majority opinion could be even more marginalized than they are now?
If CC was the size of Facebook, perhaps a guide would be needed to help navigate thousands and thousands of posts. But CC is so relatively small, that I think collectively, we lose more than we gain by providing affirmation that some will use as a shortcut on what to read or ignore.
@TheGMan I think I like your suggestions. I have to let them marinate
@homeboy What you said.
A tag that specifies if you offer virtual cuddles or not, especially since covid is on the rise again and virtual cuddles don't require contact.
Also, an option to specify a half hour duration as opposed to an hourly one if selecting a virtual cuddle.
A way to filter virtual cuddlers in a search in case you just want someone to talk to.
Safety Feature: a voluntary number of site cuddle guards designated to contact you to make sure you're okay post cuddle if you're meeting someone for the first time.
@homeboy I definitely agree about not implementing liking posts function. At least now when they don't respond to our posts, or when they respond based on who posted as opposed to the content of the post, we can think maybe they are reading and interested in our posts but just didn't have a response. If a like function is implemented, then when our posts get no likes, or if people are liking based on who posted as opposed to the content of the post, it removes all doubt. They are either not reading the posts or don't find them interesting or are playing favorites based on who wrote the post as opposed to the content of the posts. And people already tailor their posts to play to the crowd. If likes are implemented it's only worse.
@snugbuddy Yes. Forum is best when it's the most authentic.
Don't know if this has already been mentioned, but a way to react to posts in the forum would be cool. Or maybe even an upvote/downvote system.
Maybe some more questions on your cuddling preferences in the About section. Like
Knowing if you’re looking for someone who’s specifically a “giver” or “receiver“ in the cuddling dynamic might help those that really need someone with a specific attribute who’s prepared to do that in their time together.
Being able to filter accordingly might be helpful too.
Feature request: showing a cuddler's secondary location in the favorites screen. That would help me keep an eye on whether they're traveling to my area.
Perhaps come up with a different term other than "clients" when referring to those paying to cuddle? Every time I read it on the forums or in private correspondence I cringe. It sounds so cold and dehumanizing in the context of cuddling. It sounds like something lawyers or accountants call customers, and those are two classes of people I avoid like the plague.
@snugbuddy "client friend" any better? 🙈 That's the term I use to represent the murky combination of both a client and friend relationship. 🙈
Somebody asked about this thread so .... bump.
@CuddleDuncan Thank you!! 😁🙏 Much appreciated!
I noticed today that profiles have a favorite movie and tv show section, but not a favorite book section! So my suggestion is to add one.
Also! Maybe sticky this thread as well so it’s easier to find?
(I’ll go ahead and bookmark it so I don’t lose it again x3)
Thank you for your time! ❤️
@EarthlyAngel003 Ooo fav book, I like that. Def gonna be The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman for me.
Has the site considered automated, "I'm sorry. I'm not available right now" messages to quell some of this, "I never got a message back" stuff. People get to live their own lives without being expected to be a slave to their inboxes. I'm a little bit upset by the emotional dependence shown by some on the forums for messages from complete strangers. They have kids, jobs, hobbies, lives. At yet there seems to be an almost aggressive culture when it comes to expecting replies. Feeling let down is an emotion and its valid. Feeling owed is something else entirely.
We’re sorry @stormydaycuddle, we are not available to read your rant at this time. Please try again later.
