Many years ago, when I first divorced, one of the ways my kids and I connected was by playing one of the Final Fantasy games on the old Nintendo system. I believe it was FF7. We'd all pretend to be one of the characters and read the lines and do voices, etc. We were having a lot of fun with it until that scene where Sephiroth kills Aerith. My young daughter had been pretending to be Aerith, so it was pretty traumatic. It took us a while to get back to the game after that, and it just wasn't the same. She is now almost 30 and still brings it up once in a while...

@Jova114 - Which was really FF6 in Japan. When it came to PlayStation, they decided to stop F'ing with the numbers and just called it FF7.

The only video game I remember affecting me was this SNES game no one heard of called Illusions of Gaia. A pet pig sacrifices itself to save the main characters. For being a lil kid at the time who grew up with pets this hit me
Nintendo, PlayStation, whatever. Not the point.
Series : WandaVision destroyed me. I cried throughout almost every episode because I so deeply felt and understood her grief.
Movie : Song of the Sea. It’s one of the most graphically beautiful pieces of art I have ever seen but the story … is beyond moving.

That reminds me of something I heard as a kid:
A city slicker was driving through the countryside when he happend to pass by a farm where he saw a pig with a wooden leg.
Intrigued, the traveler stopped and asked the farmer about the pig's wooden leg.
The farmer reflected a moment, and said, "You know, that pig saved my entire crop one year. A huge flock of crows came through and began eating my corn. But that pig ran through the fields and scared all them crows away!"
"Impressive," replied the traveler, "but why does the pig have a wooden leg?"
The farmer began to get emotional. With great reverence he said, "That wonderful pig--that heroic pig, saved my family. Late one night, when everyone was asleep, the house caught fire. That there pig ran through the house oinking loudly and woke everyone up."
"I can't believe it. That's incredible," replied the traveler. "But, the wooden leg?"
"Well," said the farmer, "a pig that good you wouldn't want to eat all at once!"
@JustPlaneCuddle ohh yeah, that was so much pain. Grief is such a difficult and different kind of emotional pain. I think of depression as pain related to the past, anxiety as pain related to the future, and finally grief as pain related to the present. It can’t be approached like depression or anxiety because grief is love with no where to go.

I can relate! 🫂 I haven't gotten far in Only Murders... but recently it's been the last episode of Good Omens for me and I watch YouTube songs with montages of the Aziraphale and Crowley's best moments 🥹 to feel it all again. And for songs I will say "This Feeling" by the amazing Alabama Shakes but with montages from Fleabag ❤️💔😭
