Pet Names you Really Like

There are many people within the CC community that have a significant pet-yet they are often left out of forum discussions. thats sad because so many of them have unique names with very interesting histories as to why the name was chosen. In contrast, with exceptions people have very boring names. How many Steve's have you encountered and does any care why the name was chosen? honor of these pets--please share the following:

1) The type of pet?
2) The pets name?
3) Why was it chosen?
4) have they lived up to the name?
5) Would you share them as a cuddle partner?

  • six people have viewed the site and none of you can speak out on behalf of your pet---society reaLLY MAY BE DOOMED!

  • I don't have a pet and you don't normally respond if I post on your thread. I didn't want to be the 7th person who viewed without commenting :)

however, I love dogs and cats and if I had a dog I would name it Thor, even it it was a girl. I like the name and have heard dogs respond better to one-syllable names. Sometimes I think I would name it Fido because it is a dog name no one uses, therefore kinda ironic? or something.

Sometimes I think I would name it Filo Bedoe?, one of Clint Eastwood's characters cause it's such a funny name.

My cat I recently adopted her name is Peggy :) I love it, she was already named. I love when animals have human names, or just silly, funny, ridiculous ones.
She us definitely a Peggy, it just fits her so well.
She hasn't come to cuddle with me yet, but I'm bring patient, today I had a big break through am was able to coax her out of her hiding spot twice, an 2 other times she stuck her head out.

  • Princess is an American Bully.
She was found after be dumped on the street. She was a backyard breeder dog. Left malnourished with worms and fleas.
She now lives the life of a Princess. She just loves people. A very docile pup. Because of a typo, she is also a pibble not a pitbull breed. So sometimes we refer to her as a AdoraPibble. She has definitely earned both names.

  • That dog exudes fun and love. I want to pet her.

@TeddyCuddle45 I like really human names for pets too. Peggy is a cute and funny name.

  • @thank you ache--maybe there still is hope for the planet---after all---you haven't experienced life until you've stepped in a pile of poop

  • @ache--just fyi---i respond really well when someone calls me "spot"

  • @ted + bear---medals should be awarded

  • Lol, there are plenty of deer that vacation in my neighborhood and I've definitely stepped in poo. I've also stepped in working animal poo. That was enough.

  • For a little white Fancy Mouse, Lord Maximilian Bartholomew Poindexter III.

  • tapping toes waiting for more pet stories (no poop on them)

  • Honey, baby, sweetie…oh, wait.

  • My Tabico kitty was named by me, she's Teddi. Theodora (gift from God) Teddi for short. She's rather snuggly and has found herself welcome at cuddle sessions! Instead of a Teddy bear, she's a Teddi cat!

  • @TxTom I may be related to that mouse. I think there are some Poindexters in my ancestry, lol. Absolutely love that over-the-top name.

  • I'd prefer not to share my dog's name publicly, but I adore him and took over a month to decide on a name for him.

Rejects were Osiris, Zorro, and Sirius. 🤭 In the end, we went with something much cuter and simpler, that was inspired during a little hike in the snow.

Here's our little firefox, wondering why oh why did I disturb his slumber...

I've previously had a gerbil named Oreo, rabbits named Henrietta, Calico, Shortstuff, and Clover, a mouse named Guy, fish named Corn and Flake, and many more.

Once, met a bad@ss Dalmatian on a mountain trail whose name was Cash. I always thought that was a cool name for a dog. Not my photo, but he looked like this...

  • My two girls: Luna (the ragdoll) and Winnie my rescue kitten who I adopted back in January. She just turned one this month:) I’ve realized that Luna is a very basic name.. but I thought it was a pretty name and suited her. Winnie is named after my favourite childhood character Winnie the Pooh😊 both cats are cuddly, but Winnie is my little cuddle bug and cuddles up to me any chance she gets.

  • @auroa ..gift from god--a perfect cat name

  • Meet Charlie! I adopted him back in November and decided to keep the name the shelter had for him cause he was one of the only dogs that knew his name cause the staff loved him and the vet would sing his name to him whenever they passed him in this little cage. Also the name of my favorite character from Its always sunny in Philadelphia

I want a pet sloth, so I can name him Count Slothious.:)

I'd love a dog no room right now though, I think a good name for a dog would be BEEF, mhm but it would have to match the dog, kinda hard to think if a name without an actual animal

  • @MajesticMango It's so kind and compassionate to leave the dog's name the same even if you prefer another name.

@TeddyCuddle45 You are too much, lol. I love your ideas.
