It can be fun activity but cannabis can also put some people into an anxious feeling.Not recommended for everyone.
Never know who might add something to increase the potency and knock down some inhibitions (which happens more than is ever reported at bars and parties.)
@starrynitecuds Very true, you never know.😁👍
Being drunk and being high is definitely not the same thing….
For the purposes of this discussion they are definitely the same thing, ANY substance which alters the brain and reduces inhibition could reduce informed consent.
Perhaps this has already been addressed (I did not read the entire thread), but does CC allow for the promotion of illegal activity. I understand this would be legal by some state laws, but it's still illegal by federal law.
@jimmylee It was CC that added the 420 option on the profiles. In addition, if it is legal in that state, what the feds think doesn’t really matter. And even if they did, they don’t:
https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/house-bill/3617#:~:text=Passed House (04%2F01%2F2022)&text=This%20bill%20decriminalizes%20marijuana.,%2C%20distributes%2C%20or%20possesses%20marijuana.
My ex worked in university wellness departments. I always found it interesting that some colleges make a point of saying that if you are drunk or high you cannot legally give consent, and other colleges say the opposite (for example, Purdue says you can give consent under those circumstances, even if the decision you are making is not the one you would have made when sober).
In a few years when I open my cuddles, cannabis,and cat café, I'll still be ahead of my time.
I'm totally down for taking an edible (I don't care for the smell of smoke) with someone I trust and know, though I wouldn't show up under the influence, even slightly, to a cuddling party. That said, I'm currently not doing 420 at all because I told someone whose good opinion is important to me that I wouldn't for now, and also because I'm working on dropping some more weight to get better at sports.
@Auroradream: In a few years when I open my cuddles, cannabis,and cat café, I'll still be ahead of my time.
That would be worth a flight out from California to spend a weekend patronizing your café when you open it!
@Auroradream Can you add cookies, cake, coffee, candy, coconut and cheese to your list?
@Auroradream: And energy drinks, because that is a great combo with a light to mid-level dose of weed, at least for me.
@HarleyGirlKate Yes, all the members will have their favorite non alcoholic libations available.
Sign me up, Aurora! 😇😊
I know I'm going to regret this, but in the interest of truth here it goes.
@TheFunCartel Thanks for the link, but you might want to take a closer look. That simply shows that the bill passed the House. It never became law. Marijuana is still on the federal list of controlled substances. I understand the feds have no interest in enforcing such laws, but it's still illegal.
@jimmylee I don’t know why you would regret it. I am not allergic to facts. You are right. I stand corrected. It is awaiting a vote in the senate. With that being said you can pretty much do anything you want in small quantities (a couple of ounces or less) as TSA has said it’s not their aim or focus to look for weed, the FBI and the DEA said that weed on an individual basis in small amounts is insignificant, and most of the banking restrictions have been stripped away. So what’s the point? There are a million laws the feds don’t enforce and this is one of them.
They tried to stop alcohol during prohibition and people thumbed their nose at that too. It’s a racist law to begin with as it was put on the schedule of controlled substances when they found out it was the recreational choice of black Americans, especially in New Orleans and the south in the early 20th century. So let adults choose for themselves.
@TheFunCartel Hey, thanks for "standing corrected." I appreciate that (really).
I'm curious. At the risk of derailing the original intent of this thread (which started years ago), you say "let adults choose for themselves." How far would you take that? I don't have a dog in this fight or any kind of hidden agenda. I think most folks draw the line somewhere. The question is, where?
I mean that cannabis should never have been put in the schedule on the same level as cocaine or opiates. It was a politically and racially motivated choice at the time to do so by states and many of these same states pushed for it when it was added to the schedule in 1970. If someone can drink then someone should be able to as an adult partake of 420. Too many bigger fish to fry in this world. Besides look at this list of people who partake or partook of weed:
Richard Feynman (Nobel Prize winner) Francis Crick (yes he of DNA fame) Carl Sagan (hardcore weed smoker) Steve Jobs Bill Gates Stephen Jay Gould Margaret Mead Kary Mullis (Nobel Prize winning chemist) Oliver Sacks Several billionaires smoke weed
I am not telling any of them they are stupid to do weed!
This would be a good niche opportunity for people to have a virtual cuddle party. The black sheep deserve affirmations and positive thoughts.
I use gummies but never cuddled and used my gummies wonder what kind of experience that would bring about! It might take my cuddles to a whole new experience!
Yes, @SunsetSnuggles the thread is old, but it's still a potential event idea with more meet and greets happening and legalization in many states. But as @pmvines pointed out, not maintaining sobriety is frowned upon by other intimate group parties.
I am not opposed to people smoking weed and if you have friends who do and also wanna cuddle that's one thing. What I'm opposed to is being inebriated while meeting interwebs strangers for intimate activities where not being sober runs the risk of blurring the lines of boundaries and consent.
If you know each other and are cuddle n smokies then cool. But since so many people, particularly In context of hiring pros, barely know each other and women already admit to having a tough time with some dudes behavior not being in check, being 100 percent sober just seems a no brainer.
I've cuddled while high (edibles only). It is a pleasant experience, though it makes me either more affectionate or more responsive. It's difficult to say which. My record with that is one that stayed platonic, and one (with someone not from here) that went very non-platonic. I'd say if there's even a spark of attraction felt by either party, it's something to think about and be mindful of. And maintain good boundaries.
Also, I wouldn't be high with someone unless they'd agreed. That would be rude and a violation of consent, regardless of if anything untoward happens.
Still, I'd be interested in a 420 cuddle party. I think having a large number of people would minimize the risks, partially through more people paying attention, and partly through having options to cuddle more than just one person.
@Spud424 👏👏👏👏
Can you imagine the smell? No thanks.
Yes. I think it would be a hit. Good pun.

@SeekerInVA Lol! I don't wanna imagine it.😷
