As a late diagnosed autistic fem who was taught by my also autistic parents to do eye contact by DEEPLY SOUL SEARCHING IN PEOPLE'S EYE PARTS, and stim by doing things I saw other girls do...like playing with my hair, biting my lip, cocking my head to one side, etc, etc...who genuinely didn't understand why people always thought I was flirting when I talked to them? Yeahhhh, eye contact is dangerous 😬😅🤣

I'm absolutely great with maintaining eye contact during conversation, but staring into each other's eyes in complete silence? Hard nope. 😅 I had a client who wanted to gaze into each other's eyes for a few minutes, I told him "Unfortunately the diet autism says 'no'." 🤣

I prefer to not do it as it makes me uncomfortable. Slight eye contact is cool when talking.

I literally asked my cousin who is getting her PhD in psychology if she can diagnose me so I can buy a T-shirt.
I wouldn't wear it because autism isn't a disease.

@IronLemon and @TheFunCartel please go watch the video I linked and watch some of his other videos. The guy who makes these shirts is a comedian. I love people with Autism and have a lot of autistic traits myself. My previous comments were meant to be taken as a joke

@IronLemon I don’t know but he makes shirts for all kinds of disabilities and other things. The intention is that the wearer have the disability themselves. It’s not for people who aren’t disabled to wear it to make fun of others. If someone wants to joke about their own disability I don’t see anything wrong with that. Humor helps us cope.

The thing with shirts like this is if you have to watch a particular sketch by a particular comedian in order to find it funny, it isn't really funny. Most people won't have seen the sketch or even heard of the comedian.
Now, a shirt that says "My covid vaccine came with extra autism" I would wear. Everyone knows you can't get autism from vaccines.
We need a Handicapper General who will issue everyone a Laughing license. Anyone caught laughing at a joke will have a background check performed to determine if they could be a subject of said joke. If not, the offender will be arrested, hauled off, and never heard from again.

@xandriarain The only problem is if you walk around in public with the shirt there is no video to give it context and it seemingly labels autistic people with having an infection. What if you substituted homosexuality or learning disabled for autism on the shirt? Still funny to you?

I suppose the difference is it's obviously laughing at people who think homosexuality is a disease rather than laughing at homosexuals.

@xandriarain He calls none of them an infection. There are stigmas attached to the word infected, one of which is its contagious or the person should be avoided. Justifying something by saying but he is a comedian doesn’t make it right. Not all jokes are appropriate and not all jokes land and people are allowed to voice their disapproval.

Eye contact is essential. It is very much apart of the cuddling experience. Even if you have known each other for that long. Never obvious and accomplished best during conversation.

@xandriarain The point is if you haven't seen the videos, all you have to go by is what's on the shirt. Most people who see the shirt will never even have heard of the comedian. The videos are irrelevant.
If the finger-wagging lectures are finished with, it'd be nice to get back on topic.
Stripped of the comedian and the videos, I would pretty much think anyone wearing the shirt is a douche. Which is not what I think is your goal @xandriarain but it does fit the profile of others who love to revel in putting down other groups and call any complaints from those groups as a sign of a victim complex.
