Are there aliens among us?

edited July 2025 in General

I recently listened to a radio story where a woman claimed to have taken a video of a UFO. I t turns out it was a news helicopter! Drats! I like to beleive aliens live among us and some may be CC members. It would so cool to schedule a session with one assuming the hourly rate was responsible. Thoughts?

  • Interesting topic, Universe is too mind blowing big to just be us.

This is an interesting program to watch

  • I'm sure there is life out there, likelihood of that life being able to travel so far as to reach us is slim. Nearest potentially life supporting planet is a mind boggling distance from us.

But then again the theory that human beings evolution happened as quickly as it did because of extra terrestrial intervention makes sense.

Also the theory that mushrooms are not of this world makes sense too. They behave dissimilarly to any other life on the planet. On top of that psychedelic mushrooms make no sense at all.

My friend said she saw several at Walmart the other day.

  • Hah. So aliens love us so much they gave us shrooms? Or they like to watch people tripping on psychedelics?

On that truly funny and trippy thought, good night all!

  • Wonder if any took advantage of free 7-11 slurpee day?⁷⁷

  • @lovingspoonfull more like spores landed via a meteor or something. That's what I've heard.

  • Yes, im one of them. How do you do!

  • Oh, meet my newest cuddle buddy, I picked him up in Utah a few weeks ago...

Has anyone seen Resident Alien? Fun show, though I'm only through season two.

  • Interesting topic. I use to get into it more. I don’t really care as much now. I believe they exist. The universe is too small, otherwise.
I don’t get into it because it’s similar to spirituality. Some things one has faith in and no matter what you’re not going to dissuade them.
There have been declarations from different government office holders. Never an official declaration though. So I don’t talk about it much.

  • I have this cat selfie shirt. His little face just gets me every time. 😄

Been thinking of getting this shirt, it amuses me...

  • Yes, and they have been here a long time.

  • I beleive they have been here along time...that's why I tolerate sitting through a red light when the car in front will not turn right on red

I know several women that would classify men as aliens...not sure if that's good or bad

I believe that life on other planets in some form or another can and do exist , whether it's an amoeba or complex organism. But I don't believe there are aliens on earth and I don't believe in the supernatural.

  • I did a book report in school on Project Blue Book and at my young age I could see it was a total white wash on the subject of UFO’s . It made a believer out of me and been watching the subject ever since. A good movie to see is Chariots of the Gods. Take a look what mankind has done in 100 years, the Wright Brothers to landing on the moon. What if there is planets with life that is 1000’s of years ahead of us. I sure hope our government owns up to what All it knows in my lifetime.

  • There's some cool theories about why we don't see them. I asked grok for some and he gave me several.

--Aliens use something like quantum or neutrino communication don't understand, instead of radio
--The dark forest theory, where advanced civilizations hide on purpose so they don't become found by hostile threats.
--Maybe we're the first to reach this level of tech
--Maybe civilizations tend to wipe themselves out via war or climate problems.

The real answer might be boring like, "we're too spaced out".

But yeah, the universe is unbelievably massive, there has to be life of some sort somewhere. It blows my mind everytime Its explained to me in a video or such.

  • You know the concept of Occam's Razor? It’s is a problem-solving principle that suggests, when faced with competing explanations, the simplest one is usually the correct one. It’s as if you’re using a razor to surgically remove unrelated and unnecessary explanations.

I like to think of the opposite of this as Larry’s Ladle. You just indiscriminately pile on unrelated ideas to explain something we don’t yet have an answer for. It’s fun and interesting but doesn’t get us closer to reality and gets us further away from the truth.

Seeing a light in the sky and automatically saying it’s a spaceship from another galaxy is classic Larry’s Ladle.

    Aliens? Yes!

  • @mistic233 , I have it sure is hard to believe.
There is some people that says he is fake
Have you watched U Tube a guy called Preston Dennett
He has some great cases from all over the world.
We are not the only country that is having the UFO’s

  • I am somewhere in the middle of atheist and agnostic. That pretty much sums up how I feel when it comes to aliens.

We are a tiny dot in a vast universe. This is a representation of the observable Universe. Do you think this is the only place with life? Very naive thinking. Enjoy
