is this site just full of desperate men?

I've had a number of personal messages from men too far from me to meet, or who seem to want something else. Is that the usual?

Yes, I'm afraid it is usual. There are far, far more men on the site than women.

At the first hint of anything non-platonic, please Report them. If they are just a long way off, proceed or not as you wish. I've had many interesting conversations and indeed online friendship on this site and others with people from all over the world - it's one of the benefits of the internet.

You may find these threads useful:

  • Desperate is kind of a loaded word. This is a cuddling site, if you just signed up, yes you are going to get an influx of messages.

Wild that any are inappropriate, id that's the case just report/block and move on.

If they are genuine cuddle enthusiasts, that's kind of what this website is for.

  • "too far to meet" is very subjective, and to be fair, I've met cuddlers in other states when I was traveling. Likewise, have met alot of women from this site who were visiting my area from another state.

You'll also likely find that alot of guys are willing to drive much further to meet you than you would be willing to drive.

  • I agree with @wilderdude.

I would use the word "lonely"..."desperate" sounds condescending. And lonely men are not always looking for, or able to find, actual cuddling. They may simply want to talk with someone they can have a friendship with.

There are also friendly people from all over the world who just like to be welcoming or get to know people, sans loneliness or desperation.

If you don't want to hear from people outside a certain area (30-minute drive, your state, etc.), you can write that in your profile. You have not written a single word in the About Me section of your profile...the only way for people to find out anything is to message you.

Lastly, as of course the others have said, if and when people make inappropriate remarks or requests, report them.

Can't speak for all, but I would imagine most non-professionals on here have some void in their life that is not being fulfilled.

    As for myself:

Desperate? No. I have friends, many interests, and people I can talk to that meet my emotional needs.

Lonely? Sure I am, at times. I am on the road most of the time with my job, and I don't have the time or inclination for a romantic relationship. I work in a field that is probably 85% women, so while I do get asked out, it's not what I am looking for, not to mention workplace romance being a trainwreck. I think platonic cuddling requires a very specific type of person.

I'm sure experiences for women on here aren't great, but on the flipside it can be difficult for men finding sincere enthusiasts.

  • @notneedy - Short answer to the thread title, no.

Everyone’s circumstances are different - I have only hosted one cuddle partner at my home and that was after numerous cuddles with her.

I have a pretty busy work life (not really balanced) but I travel a lot and I tend to book more cuddles when I am on the road because I know I will have downtime at the hotel after my meetings are done.

  • Like others have mentioned and what’s common on pros and enthusiasts alike, cuddling is perfect for me because it’s next to impossible for me to commit to a long term relationship. I work at least 45 hrs per week at my main job plus I dog sit at people’s houses as well as do drop ins. I’m also trying to get into shape working out 5-6 days per week and study Japanese, which involves working with a tutor and being enrolled in a college class. Also, the women I meet and connect with on this site are LIGHT YEARS better than the ones that I’ve met on dating sites. It has also gotten me to get out and visit some new places across the US - one of my favorite locations now is Savannah, GA.

  • I have a session tomorrow with a member that lives 1,224 miles away from me and this will be our 3rd cuddle. So what does too far mean?

  • So what does too far mean?

The people who can answer that are banned.

  • Sounds like you should consider going pro. There is obviously a market for it.
