How do you cats onboard kittens?

I’ve been here for a few weeks now.

Interesting website, has good entertainment value etc..

I on occasion casually peruse the forums here and I semi frequently see people with a big “X” on their avatar icon. I’m assuming this means they’re banned (unless there is some neat trend I’m not aware of).

That seems weird, wow, lots of people getting banned on this website. So I thought about that and wondered why, I get clues when I skimp over the discussions but don’t have time to read every word.

It’s usually some disconnect between the discussion and the mantra of this site. I’m not gonna say you don’t have the literal rules posted up, but as someone who knows that booking a pro for the first time is confusing af (never booked, lol, had no idea what I was doing) it’s not as transparent as read the rules.

So I wanted to know what you guys do to nurture and foster new community members. Surely you don’t leave people to the wolves? 😂

How do you communicate to someone who’s new about the fluidity of the connections here and how are they taught to interact?

Because most of the names I see in the forums are the same (?) and walls of text are well, walls.

There is a staff of volunteer mods on the site who work to protect the core values of what this site was established around. Sometimes you may stumble across the forum posts that contributed to a user being banned. Other times, you may just see some posts they made prior to being banned for other reasons completely unrelated to the forum thread you're reading. I wouldn't call it weird, as it's not hard to fathom why a certain amount of banning is always going to be necessary here. I would call it unfortunate, but also I'm appreciative of the mods doing their best to keep the environment as healthy as possible.

It appears you've got your profile setup with pics and info, and it sounds like you've searched out the rules/FAQ stuff since you mentioned it. So I think you're off to a good start.

As for booking a pro, I'd use whatever process you're comfortable with, and that you feel will be comfortable for them as well. If you're on a pro's profile page, you can click "Request to Book". It won't immediately send them a booking request, but instead take you to a page where you can message back and forth with them to give each of you a chance to get to know each other. I can see how that UI flow might be a little confusing and maybe that's where you're hung up.

I think this forum is a great place to explore your other concerns, and I have no doubt that others will start posting here with more advice about it as well.

Here is a thread that has a ton of good information related to your inquiry:
    https://cuddlecomfort.com/forum/discussion/15326/how-to-choose-your-professional-cuddler#top

  • I'm disappointed. I expected this to be a thread about cat rescue. 😿

  • At least it's not about bears and cubs

  • 🤷🏼‍♂️ damnit, I’m not here to disappoint you lol

Welcome to the cuddling community. 🫂

@BlueIris same and since OP disappointed me I'm going to throw in some of @pmvines special sauce with my own twist:
I'm not really sure how to answer since I only skimmed through some of what you wrote and don't have time to read every word. I'll let everyone else read it and do the work for me. 😁

I also came here expecting cats and kittens.

    @BellaAine just saying what we’re thinking. 😂

The stickied threads at the top of this forum that you’ve admitted to skimming but not reading fully are where a lot of your answers lie.

Hey @cuddlefaery wheres that cut and paste comment you have when every new person wants everything laid out for them even though every other new person has asked this question already.

  • @BellaAine it’s okay if you take the time to edit your posts, we know where you put in your effort.

  • See now you cats are sounding a little hostile. I said that walls of texts are walls and now the guards are here.

Yikes, this is how you treat the kittens?

  • Welcome to CC @HometownHumble Some good advice from peeps above 👆
Good luck on your cuddle journey here ! 😊

  • Adorable gif btw

  • @mauvefox She came to my mind to. Love @cuddlefaery links.

@HometownHumble Was that supposed to be a jab? I edited my post to add an emoji and soften the tone, seeing as people who expect things to be handed to them tend to get sensitive when that's pointed out.

  • @BellaAine , no no, no jab.

Was wondering when you were going to tell me how you talk about the people here and how you make new connections with “kittens” in the community.

That’s what I’m curious about, and pointing me to the rules is not what I was asking in my thread. I know you skimmed it though and I’m guilty of these things too 🌞

  • By the way, if someone had actually answered this incredibly vague question with a full answer, that would have been a very tall wall of text. The very thing you say you can’t read.

So here’s another wall of text that you won’t read.

The problem is you are not a kitten. You are a grown adult. You know how to use a computer and a website. Those are certainly grown up things. You found this site all by yourself, and you created a login. You even found and perused (but didn’t fully read) the forums. Then you asked an incredibly vague question that basically said it’s too hard and I don’t wanna.

Had you asked a very specific question that indicated you had indeed done your own research then maybe you would have had a different response from people.

Walls of text are indeed walls of text. Half of us are neurodivergent here and have the attention span of a puppy. And here is another newbie asking the same generic question that has been asked countless times before.

You are the equivalent of a wall of text.

  • @mauvefox @BellaAine ask and you shall receive 😁

I highly recommend everyone (especially new users and pros) read through the site TOS, the FAQ, the Help Center articles, the contracts for pros & clients, and all the stickied threads in the General and Pro Cuddling forums.

Also, @HometownHumble , I'd like to point out that the way momma cats teach their kittens is frequently with a hard smack to the head, growls, and aggressively pinning them down. Which would you prefer? 😇

  • 🥱 not here for the negativity.

  • @cuddledaery not sure if that’s a meow or a rawr!!! 😂

  • @HometownHumble And we're not here for doing the emotional labor and education for men too lazy to use the resources available to them. We have to deal with that enough in everyday life without also having to deal with it from grown men online.

You get the energy returned that you put out - and the tone of your original post and comments isn't doing you any favors.

  • @mauvefox for you wouldn’t it be “ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding”

  • @mauvefox I mean, dude came in here with a bunch of crazy cat ladies really thinking he did something clever 🙄

  • Rude,

I want to remind you that this month is men’s mental health month. Be respectful.

  • You all misunderstand me,

I’ve done that labor, I’m pointing out a weakness, and I’m following up with what I love.

Getting to know the community. I really don’t appreciate the box you are placing me in, and I’m allow to feel that way.

  • Oh look what he did there. Did you see that campers. He is clever! My kids love that song!

And if you can’t speak Fox, that’s your loss. 🤷‍♀️

  • @cuddlefaery for real!!!

And @OhioMike thank you as always for delivering on the failed promises of other men.

  • Well, if I’m a kitten and your a fox then I doubt anyone is an adult here 😂

  • I saw Cats once. It is very dated, but still entertaining

  • @pmvines I saw the Broadway tour in like 2000 and it was dated even then 😂 I still loved it! Was not a fan of the more recent movie remake though 🤦🏻‍♀️🫣

  • @pmvines I have a story for you! I was actually casted in a community version of that musical! It was honestly one of the best experiences of my life and I highly recommend anyone with free time to do musical theatre.

The impermanence of it is endearing.

  • Unfortunately dude, you’re no kitten.

And everyone gets treated like a competent and capable adult in here.

  • Except me,

If you really were what you think you are you would have just kept scrolling.

@mauvefox well I don't know what to say but thank you 😊 I've always appreciated your contributions to these types of threads.
Interesting thread too btw, because the OP has recently joined (May 2026) and has concerns and handles it one way.

The first response on this thread is from a very similar profile... from @jdev25 (joined May 2026). and gave some really solid advice and obviously has done some research and that's encouraging as heck!

So just a shout out to @jdev25 for a very informative response and from someone who just joined !

@jdev25 wishing you well also on your cuddle journey here !😊👍
