Even though I am straight I will cuddle anyone. We as a society would be better overall if we were not so conservative when it comes to intimacy. Treat emotions as a weakness, so refrain from physical touch, relationships, situations that would display what is thought to be a vulnerability. If it was thought as a norm from when we are young we would be better functioning adults. Learn how to self soothe and have better coping skills earlier in life. Less miscommunication would occur from a father to son if he hugged and kissed on top of the head of his son if he did not know how to say I’m proud or I love you. Most children do it without thinking but taught if you want to be respected or strong you don’t show weakness. Wish we could forget gender and just hug.

Honestly, when I think of cuddling a woman I think of cuddling my sisters. Definitely let my female cuddle buddy take the lead.
@FishCuddles you seem like my son in that sense. He describes himself as pansexual, doesn't see gender as a factor in the equation.

Sadly many of us are socialized that showing emotions makes us weak and physical contact is often called innapropriate. @FishCuddles oh yes acceptance is crucial. And I dont accept him despite how he identifies , I accept him because of it. I think it is great when folks are comfortable enough to be who they are and not hide it . He has a transgender boyfriend and I love how few people actually give a crap about it . As a parent no matter any conflict I might have with him I would still murder the world if I had to to keep him safe , but I feel like he is doing a pretty good job of keeping himself safe just from being himself

I am probably like 85/15 with my preference. But i have had some really great group cuddles with men only where we all openly talked about shared experiences and feelings. I have done much less one on one with other men but i am not closed to the idea

I like how @littermate said there's a certain kind of vitamin that my body needs/likes with very specific males. I get to hug and snuggle so many people in my life and LOTS of them are women. For the practical purposes on this site I put cuddles men because I don't have as much of a need for extra female snuggles and its hard enough to carve out time for the male version. That being said.... I have gone to numerous cuddle parties and they are so fantastic. When hands and arms are generating kindness I can't even tell the difference unless I choose to. Light or strong touches, warm hugs or gentle squeezes.... It is all so fantastic. I'm sending out virtual hugs to ALL who join here.

I’m open to men and women , I think I like cuddling with men an women for different reasons , they offer a different kind of touch for sure and a different level of comfort.

Very good topic, I think it has a lot to do with the way you were raised, family sittings. In my family, no male ever hugged another male, very few times a male & female would hug, just they way they were raised I assume. even when a family member would stop by that had not been seen in years, they would just say hi. I've been married twice, but my 2nd wife, her whole family was a huggy bunch, LOL, if someone stopped by 2-3 times a week, they would get a hug. So I learned it was OK to hug another male and found it to be a GOOD thing to hug period, no matter, male, female, white, black, brown-etc. I would find it hard to explain to someone who has never had the good feeling of a nice long hug !!!! And I'm so happy that I learned to hug another person. It would be like trying to explain why I enjoy riding my motorcycle to a person that has never done it, they would never understand. So I say, HUG and cuddle as much as you can !!!! life is short so take time to enjoy it !!!!
@waynewv thank you for sharing. Very important points about the way a person is raised affecting their ideas about hugging 🤗 and cuddling. I was raised in the opposite kind of family where we constantly communicated love for each other and hugs 🤗. I realize that not everyone grows up in a family like this but happy that you learned to show intimacy with trusted people and now you embrace it. I agree life is too short not to cuddle or hug 🤗, people from all demographics need it. Thank you for sharing again!
@FishCuddles , thanks !!!! I agree our world would be so much better. !!! The one thing I regret is not hugging my dad and telling him that I loved him, that was never done in my family and I didn't learn any better until after he passed !!!
