How many professional cuddlers are on Cuddle Comfort?

Hey everyone! I am writing a blog about professional cuddling and Platonic touch therapy, and I am trying to determine how many cuddlers are out there in the world. Cuddle Comfort, I believe, has the highest number of professional cuddlers in one place.

Any thoughts? Is it listed somewhere on the site?

  • I'm sure one of the site admins or mods could give you an answer! Otherwise you could count (manually or via code) if you searched with settings as "Pro" and distance as "any"

  • The cudlers map (sticky thread) will give a rough indication of distribution.

On the site you can search up to a radius of 300 miles. I did find the perfect centre spots once, but I can't remember exactly where. One was north of Vegas and another on the Ohio/West Virginia border.

If you are knowledgeable enough to scrape data from websites you could try that. But probably your best bet is to approach @Mark, @Gary and @respectful and ask for help.

Total numbers are misleading because there are ten year old dead accounts. Logged on in the last month is a good starting point.

  • There's the professional public pages which gives a good indication on number of professionals across popular states and top cities internationally - this lists female pros in the top states and may not include those that have a temporarily deactivated profile or are private profiles.

  • I’m confuse can someone explain the question to me because they are 35 professional cuddlers just in the Ohio area

    @JoyfulHeart 😂🐭

  • @SweetiSammi Yes! Not only 🐭, but 🐬 too!

I'm glad someone got the reference. It really is THE answer.

@JoyfulHeart so long and thanks for all the fish!

  • @KozyKim they’re just having fun lol 😆

  • I’m guessing (I’m not a journalist) but there’s probably a more systemic, reliable way of getting the numbers the OP wants than asking a question on an online forum.

  • If you scroll down the page that @Gary linked to it says there are over 3,800 pro cuddlers in the U.S. listed on this site.

  • I have been curious about the ratio of pros to enthusiasts/clients lately. I definitely get the vibe that there’s more of a scarcity mindset here amongst the pros and it’s very competitive.

  • It's hard to say.... because there's actually alot of "pros" that haven't been on in months and/or years

  • Setting the distance to "any" in the search (as @desi_babe suggested) gives you some of them, but it limits it to 1000, ordered by last login time. If you select "professionals only" and "cuddles men", that only goes back as far as people who have logged in over the last 5 days.

So I guess that leaves Gary's suggestion of the professional-cuddlers page, which says 3800 in the US plus 100 in other countries.

  • That page says that there are 39 professional cuddlers in London. I just searched 'within 5 miles' which is the smallest area and found 33 who have logged on in the last month. Further investigation suggests that the cutoff for 39 is logging in about three months ago. This takes no account of the number of accounts which have come and gone, but since it's a Search I look at regularly I would say that number is few.

In other words, 39 is a perfectly fair reflection of the number of professionals in London. It's only one sample point, but there is no obvious reason to think the others are different.

Of the 33, 12 have five or more Karma. Three have given London as a secondary location: those three may or may not be included in the 39, since the methodologies are different.

  • I’m curious about the exact question that goes behind or deeper than how many professional cuddlers there are. I bristle at the suggestion that I’m not a pro if I’m not booking clients, but if there 99 other male professional cuddlers like me who almost never book any clients — which seems to be the case — then I think it would be misleading to simply say “there are 100 male professional cuddlers.” Even for women, for whom it is easier to find prospects, it seems there are quite a few who aren’t booking many clients either. To say there are 500 people who are ready and willing (and in some cases even trained or certified) to serve as professional cuddlers is a far cry from saying there are 500 who are making a living at it. The world just doesn’t know how wonderful we are yet. 😉

  • ^^^^ That.

Someone would have to put quite a bit of time into sifting through how many pro accounts are active, what percentage of people with pro accounts are booking more than a handful of appointments per year.

Looking back at London, the number isn't 33 any more because it's a day later and things have changed, so now it's 34

12 have five or more Karma (of whom I have cuddled 8)

13 have one to four Karma

9 have no Karma, but at least a couple of these are too new to have any.

Of the 4 fiveKs I haven't met, two I don't know at all (Uncle Sam on tour) and two I happen to know are not particularly active at present. Of the 8 I have, cuddling is a major or only source of income for at least 5. Of the remaining 3, two are students and one has a full time job.

London isn't in the USA, and it's only one sample point.

    Edit

There are 14 professionals who have logged in more than a month but less than a year ago. My gut feel is that there are also a number of people who have created accounts, not found any clients, and deleted their accounts.

1 has five or more Karma
3 have one to four Karma
    10 have no Karma

All of these numbers apply to women professionals who cuddle men. There are no men professionals in this area. Almost all of these professionals also cuddle women: it seems a couple don't but I'm not going to figure out who, at least not now.

@JazzyPants I needed to distract myself so looking at the West Coast, 574 Professional female cuddlers come up.

(At the mercy of the site's search options)
I looked at several points per State and deleted any duplicates to ensure I got everyone in that State. I only looked at Professionals that identify on the site as Females that cuddle men, which have been active in the last month.

The number listed above may be lower in reality since the search results are affected if the Pro has a second location listed on her profile.

The States I looked at where Hawaii, Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Cali, Nevada, and Arizona, thought there may be a few bleed outs from nearby State borders. Let me know if y'all have any questions on this.

Average age for these States is: 31
    Average hourly rate: $108

  • @Gabriel2k According to your figures, it would average $3,348/hr to cuddle all the cuddlers in a state at once, not counting travel fees.

  • [Deleted User]Gabriel2k (deleted user)

That's what the excel sheet says.. but you have to keep in mind that a significant number of Pros on the west coast have a 2 hr minimum so that price may be way higher.

  • It'd interesting to see the ratio of pro male to female, as well as enthusiasts .

The only available data point easily accessible on the site is the Frequently Asked Questions mention of CC having reached 100k members in early 2018, of which 21% where women, and 4% where professionals. (97% of Pros being women).

No idea how that number has evolved over the years.

  • @Gabriel2k - if you notice any duplicate accounts, could you please report them? Members are only allowed to have one account so we will delete one of them. People having more than one account is not necessarily a sign of bad intentions on their part. Sometimes they forget a password or the account is linked to an email they no longer use. Or they simply don’t realize they are not supposed to have duplicate accounts and make a new one more to their liking. In some cases, their intent is nefarious, like a way to get around someone else blocking them. At any rate, we like that to stay cleaned up if we can.

@Babichev oh no, what I meant was that since I was searching from multiple sides of each State I looked at, sometimes the same profile showed up because of location. No duplicates in your sense of description.. I was just trying to be thorough trying to capture everyone per State if that makes sense.

  • Well it has to be plenty I’m a professional cuddled myself and I know a few

  • Oh my goodness, you all are freaking AMAZING! This was so incredibly helpful with links, and counts, and did I see someone created a spreadsheet? =) Lol! You all definitely gave me a jumping-off point. It is easy to count the cuddlers from sites such as Cuddlist, Cuddle Sanctuary, and Cuddle Up to Me, but when I went through the process of counting via searchs page, my numbers got messed up as some showed up and some didn't...probably due to what CuddleDuncan pointed out. Anyway, thank you all so much for your help.
